ARC Raiders Reward Pass: Is Premium Worth It?

Quick answer: The Premium Reward Pass is worth it only if you will actually finish all 60 levels — it costs 1,150 Raider Tokens and awards up to 1,150 tokens back as you climb, so a completed pass returns its own token price and funds the next one. The matching top-up pack is $9.99, which is the effective cash cost if you do not already have the tokens. Finish only part of the pass and you recover only part of the tokens — treat it then as a $9.99 cosmetic purchase. The $29.99 Collector Set is the stronger buy for anyone who wants both tokens and cosmetics: its 2,400 Raider Tokens alone are a $19.99 pack, and because Premium access is bundled in, the set leaves you with all 2,400 tokens plus nine exclusive items for about $10 over the pack price. And none of it touches gameplay — every weapon and gadget is on the Free track, which also hands you up to 200 tokens for free. Here is the full value breakdown with live prices, verified October 2026 against Embark's official announcement and the Xbox US store.

The Two Currencies People Keep Confusing

Before any value math, clear up the single most common mistake. Frozen Trail runs on two different currencies, and mixing them up is the fastest way to misjudge what the pass actually costs you.

  • Reward Points are the progression currency. They replaced Cred on October 8. You earn them by completing Feats, and they apply to whichever Reward Pass you have selected as active. Reward Points are how you climb the pass.
  • Raider Tokens are the premium currency. You spend them on the Premium Pass and on store cosmetics, and you earn them back from the pass (up to 200 on Free, up to 1,150 on Premium). Raider Tokens are what the whole value question is about.

So when Embark Studios' official announcement says a completed Premium Pass earns back the currency it takes to obtain it, it means Raider Tokens, not Reward Points. And per the 1.45.0 live update, any Cred you were holding expired with Frozen Trail — it did not convert into either currency.

What Premium Actually Costs — Live Prices

The Premium Pass price is fixed at 1,150 Raider Tokens. You earn Raider Tokens from the passes themselves (up to 200 Free, up to 1,150 Premium) and from some quests, but the fastest way to top up to 1,150 is a token pack. The store sells five of them. Here is the live pricing (Xbox US store, verified October 2026), with the cost per token so you can see where the value sits.

Token packPrice (USD)Cost per token
500 Raider Tokens$4.991.00 cent
1,150 Raider Tokens$9.990.87 cent
2,400 Raider Tokens$19.990.83 cent
6,250 Raider Tokens$49.990.80 cent
13,000 Raider Tokens$99.990.77 cent

Notice the 1,150 pack is priced to match the Premium Pass exactly. That is deliberate: the effective cash cost of Premium is $9.99. Buy the 1,150 pack, redeem the pass, done. You do not need a bigger pack — and buying the 500 pack twice is a trap: $9.98 is a cent cheaper but gives you only 1,000 tokens, leaving you 150 short of the pass. The 1,150 pack is the clean fit.

Is the Premium Pass Self-Funding? The Honest Math

Here is the part the marketing leans on and where the fine print matters. Embark describes completing the Premium Pass, in its official Reward Pass announcement, as "earning back the currency it takes to obtain it" — the key word being currency, meaning tokens, not your cash.

The Premium track awards up to 1,150 Raider Tokens across its 60 levels. Spend 1,150 tokens to buy it, finish all 60 levels, and you bank 1,150 tokens back. If you then do not spend those tokens on store skins, you have enough to buy next season's Premium Pass without paying cash again. On paper, your first $9.99 is the only real money that ever leaves your account — but note the pass returns its token price, not your cash; nobody refunds the $9.99.

That loop is real, but it holds on three conditions, and all three are on you:

  • You complete the entire pass. The 1,150-token payout is spread across all 60 levels, so stopping partway earns only part of it back and leaves you out of pocket. Embark has not published how long 60 levels takes or exactly which levels pay the tokens, so be honest about your playtime before counting on the full return.
  • You hoard the earned tokens. Spend them on a store outfit between seasons and the self-funding chain breaks. The loop only works if you treat the earned tokens as pass seed money, not spending money.
  • The price never moves. The loop assumes future passes stay at 1,150 in and 1,150 out. Embark has not promised that. If a later pass raises the price or trims the payout, you top up with cash again.

It is the same self-funding structure other live-service passes use — fair when you finish, a slow leak when you do not. The helpful difference here is that Frozen Trail passes are tied to the update rather than a hard-dated season, so you are not racing a countdown to finish one. Embark has not formally confirmed the pass never expires, so complete it while the season is live to be safe — but there is no visible clock forcing you.

The Collector Set vs Buying Premium — Where the Value Really Is

This is the comparison that trips people up: set the $29.99 Collector Set against the $9.99 Premium Pass and the set looks overpriced. The right comparison is against the tokens.

The Collector Set is $29.99 (Xbox US store) and includes 2,400 Raider Tokens, Premium Track access, and nine exclusive cosmetic and customization items. Those 2,400 tokens, bought as a standalone pack, cost $19.99. So the set is effectively $19.99 of tokens plus $10 for everything else — and that "everything else" is a long list:

  • Renzo outfit in four colorways (Gold, Green, Black Silver, Ice Blue)
  • Renzo Helm scrappy cosmetic
  • Bob hairstyle
  • Dragon's Breath Weapon Stencil
  • Scasso Raider Tool
  • Renegade Censer backpack attachment
  • Kabuki Face Paint
  • Retro Sofa Outpost furniture recipe
  • Banjo musical instrument blueprint — the only way to get it

On top of those nine, the set bundles Premium Reward Pass access, so you do not spend any of the 2,400 tokens unlocking Premium. That is the detail that flips the math. Go the pack route instead — buy the $19.99 2,400-token pack and then unlock Premium with 1,150 of those tokens — and you are left with 1,250 tokens and none of the nine exclusives. Pay $10 more for the Collector Set and Premium is already included, so you keep all 2,400 tokens and get the nine items. The $10 upgrade buys you the nine exclusives plus 1,150 more leftover tokens. For anyone who wants the Renzo set or the Banjo at all, the Collector Set is the clearly better buy. For anyone who only wants Premium access and could not care less about a banjo, it is $20 of outfit you will not use.

So — Should You Buy It? The Decision Tree

  • You play a lot and will finish the whole pass this season → Buy the Premium Pass for $9.99 (the 1,150 pack). Completing it returns its 1,150-token purchase price and hands you the exclusive stencils and hairstyles. Best pure-value path, but only if you actually finish it — the return is in tokens, not a cash refund.
  • You want the Renzo outfit, the Banjo, or the Outpost cosmetics → Buy the $29.99 Collector Set. The exclusives cost you roughly $10 over the token value, and the Banjo blueprint has no other source.
  • You only care about the new guns, gadgets and gameplay → Buy nothing. Every weapon and gadget is on the Free track that every base-game owner gets. Premium is cosmetics only — there is no power to buy.
  • You grind casually and might stop halfway → Skip Premium, or treat it as a flat $9.99 cosmetic purchase and ignore the token return — you will only recover part of the 1,150 if you do not finish. Do not buy it for a self-funding loop you will not complete.
  • You are returning for Frozen Trail after a break → Play the Free and Legacy passes first. The Legacy Pass restores everything you earned under Raider Decks and lets you progress the rewards you missed, all for free. See if the season hooks you before spending.

The reassuring part is that there is no competitive pressure in any of this. Because the Premium track and the Collector Set are cosmetics-only, skipping them costs you nothing in the raid. You are buying a look, a banjo, and a self-funding convenience — never an advantage.

One More Thing: You Earn Tokens Just by Playing

A detail that changes the math for active players: Raider Tokens are not only a pass reward. Certain quests also pay them out — the ARC Raiders wiki lists quests such as Settled in Full and Bombing Run awarding 30 tokens each, alongside other project rewards. Those are not a huge sum on their own, but they stack on top of the up-to-200 Free-track tokens and whatever you bank from Premium, so a committed player closes the self-funding gap a little faster than the raw 1,150-in/1,150-out numbers suggest. Treat any extra tokens from play as a buffer against a future price bump, not as spending money, and the loop gets more forgiving.

If you would rather spend your time playing than grinding Pendola Pass runs to progress the pass, a carry and a ready stash take the farm off your hands:

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ARC Raiders Premium Reward Pass worth it? It is worth it if you will complete the pass, because the Premium track awards up to 1,150 Raider Tokens — the same 1,150 it costs — so a finished pass returns its token purchase price and can fund the next one if you do not spend the tokens. The return is in tokens, not a cash refund. If you grind casually and stop early, you only recover part of the cost, so treat it as a $9.99 cosmetic purchase instead.

How much does the Premium Pass cost in real money? The Premium Pass costs 1,150 Raider Tokens. The matching token pack is $9.99 (Xbox US, October 2026), so $9.99 is the effective real-money price. You do not need a larger pack.

Is the $29.99 Collector Set worth it? Yes, if you want the cosmetics. Its 2,400 Raider Tokens alone are a $19.99 pack, and Premium access is bundled in — so the nine exclusive cosmetic items cost only about $10 extra, and the Banjo blueprint has no other source. If you only want Premium access and no cosmetics, buy the 1,150 token pack instead and save twenty dollars.

What is the difference between Reward Points and Raider Tokens? Reward Points are the free progression currency that replaced Cred and climb your pass as you complete Feats — you cannot buy them. Raider Tokens are the premium currency you spend on the Premium Pass and store cosmetics and earn back from the pass and from play. The value question is entirely about Raider Tokens.

Does the Premium Pass give a gameplay advantage? No. The Premium track is cosmetics only — toggles, modifications, colorways, legendary weapon stencils and hairstyles. Every weapon, gadget and gameplay item sits on the Free track that all base-game owners receive. There is no pay-to-win.

Do I lose my old Raider Deck rewards? No. The free Legacy Reward Pass keeps everything you already unlocked and lets you progress to earn the Raider Deck rewards you missed. Nobody loses old unlocks.

Can I buy Premium access without the Collector Set? Yes. The Premium Track can be purchased separately for 1,150 Raider Tokens. The Collector Set is the bundle route that adds the exclusive cosmetics and extra tokens on top.
