Quick answer: A 10-year ban in Arena Breakout: Infinite is Morefun's maximum penalty. It is handed out once its security team, the B.D.C., verifies cheating (plug-ins, DMA hardware, scripts), promoting hacks, or serious cases of teaming with cheaters, real-money trading, bug abuse, harassment or AFK farming. The October 28, 2026 Bans Notice listed a record 3,861 ten-year bans and 9,812 Koen confiscations in two weeks. If you think the ban is wrong, appeal through Settings → Privacy → Customer Service in the client or Support → Contact Us on arenabreakoutinfinite.com. Bans on shared or "boosted" accounts are never lifted.
If you've logged in to a 10-year ban notice in ABI, you're not alone, and you're not the only one confused about it. One thread on the official subreddit this week drew more than 120 replies from players posting their own ban stories, and some of them insist they never cheated.
This guide explains what Morefun actually bans for, using only its own published rules. It also covers what the newest ban report says, how Koen confiscation differs from a ban, and the official appeal routes. It applies to Season 7: Utopia and was checked against the official Steam news feed for app 2073620 on October 29, 2026.
We don't cover ways to dodge a ban, and we never will. This page explains the policy so you can avoid it, or appeal properly if you were caught by mistake.

What does the October 28, 2026 Bans Notice show?
Morefun's security team posts a Bans Notice on Steam roughly every two weeks. The newest one, dated October 28, 2026, covers October 12 – October 25. It's the harshest report since full release.
| Penalty (Oct 12 – Oct 25, 2026) | Count |
|---|---|
| Bans for cheating | 10,869 |
| 10-year bans | 3,861 |
| Device/IP bans | 1,313 |
| Other bans | 5,695 |
| Griefing (bad behavior) | 144 |
| Koen confiscations ("Playing with Hackers") | 9,812 |
| Players compensated | 86,261 (123.90 billion Koen) |
| Information blocked | 79,888 |
Source: "Arena Breakout: Infinite Bans Notice - October 28th", official Steam announcement.
Both bolded numbers are the highest of any Bans Notice in the Steam feed since the game left Early Access in September 2025. The previous high for 10-year bans was 3,790 (February 25, 2026 notice). The previous high for Koen confiscations was 6,505 (October 14, 2026 notice).
The trend through Season 7 is clear:
| Bans Notice | Period | 10-year bans | Koen confiscations |
|---|---|---|---|
| September 9th | Aug 24 – Sep 6 | 2,029 | 3,481 |
| September 9th (reposted Sep 23) | Sep 7 – Sep 20 | 1,409 | 2,514 |
| October 14th | Sep 28 – Oct 11 | 3,706 | 6,505 |
| October 28th | Oct 12 – Oct 25 | 3,861 | 9,812 |
That works out to 7,567 ten-year bans in four weeks. The Koen-confiscation line nearly quadrupled between the September 20 and October 25 reports.
Each notice repeats the same policy. In Morefun's words: "Arena Breakout: Infinite has already implemented a real-time banning policy. All suspicious accounts and historical data will be investigated and, if found guilty of a rule violation, either be banned or have their current ban extended."
The phrase "historical data" matters. A ban can land weeks after the raid it's based on, which is why it can feel like it came out of nowhere.
What gets you a 10-year ban in Arena Breakout: Infinite?
Morefun's rulebook is a Steam post called Ten "Don'ts" in Arena Breakout Infinite (October 21, 2025). Here's where the 10-year ceiling applies, quoted from that post and from later security reports:
| Violation | Typical penalty | Can reach 10 years? |
|---|---|---|
| Using hacks (aimbot, ESP, speed-ups, DMA devices) | "ten-year account and device ban" once verified; 1–365 day suspension while under "high suspicion" | Yes, the default once verified |
| Creating, selling or promoting hacks | "Promoting hacks in-game will also result in a 10-year account ban" | Yes |
| Rule-breaking scripts/macros (e.g. automated "Knifer" farming) | Earnings reclaimed, feature limits, account bans | Yes, "up to 10 years" |
| Deliberately teaming with a cheater | Earnings reclaimed, Merit Score deducted, tiered bans | Yes, for "serious offenders" |
| Real-world trading (selling or buying items/Koen for cash) | Trade bans, supplies or Koen reclaimed, short bans | Yes, for "serious offenders" |
| Abusing in-game bugs | Merit Score deductions, earnings reclaimed, tiered bans | Yes |
| Harassment, illegal content, ad spam | Mutes, forced name changes | Yes, for "serious offenders" |
| AFK/passive farming in Supplies Drops and Zombie Endless | Earnings reclaimed, Merit Score cut, mode restrictions | Yes, "serious violations" (Sept 20, 2026 notice) |
| Teamkilling, stealing teammates' loot | Bans up to 30 days | No, capped at 30 days |
Two details stand out.
Cheating doesn't need a kill to count. The Season 6 Security Report (September 28, 2026) says: "Even if the plug-in users did not eliminate anyone, they will still receive 10-year bans once we've verified that they used a plug-in to cheat."
Device bans follow the hardware. The Bans Notice lists device/IP bans as their own category (1,313 this period), on top of account bans. The Ten "Don'ts" post calls the cheating penalty an "account and device ban". A new account on the same PC won't get around it.
ABI's anti-cheat is Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE), listed on the Steam store page. Morefun's own ACE banner advertises AI behavior detection, real-time monitoring, a device "fingerprint" ID and gold-farming prevention. Season 6 alone saw the anti-plug-in system updated more than 772 times, and more than 8,000 accounts banned for 10 years (Season 6 Security Report).
What is the difference between a ban, Koen confiscation and a Merit Score deduction?
Many players who post "I got banned" were actually hit by one of the two smaller penalties. They aren't the same thing.
- Koen confiscation ("Playing with Hackers" in the Bans Notice). Morefun takes back what you earned in raids alongside a verified cheater. The Ten "Don'ts" post says it reclaims raid earnings and can increase "the proportion of illegitimate earnings reclaimed" for repeat cases. Confiscation on its own isn't a ban, though it can come alongside other sanctions. 9,812 confiscations appear in the latest report.
- Merit Score deduction. The Merit Score is ABI's official behavior score. Morefun deducts it for teaming violations, bug abuse, AFK farming and stealing loot. The Inspector Community entry point also sits under Profile → Merit Score. It's a warning track, not a lockout, but repeat cuts escalate.
- Account ban. You can't log in. It ranges from a short suspension (often applied first, while a replay is reviewed) up to 10 years, sometimes with a device/IP ban on top.
There's also a fourth thing that looks like a penalty but isn't. Compensation goes to players who were killed by a verified cheater. Season 6 paid out more than 310,000 times, totalling 371.3 billion Koen, and the October 28 notice lists 86,261 players compensated (123.90 billion Koen). If Koen turned up in your mail after a bad raid, that's why.
Can you get banned without cheating?
Yes. Morefun's own rules describe four ways it can happen without you running a cheat yourself.
1. You queued with a friend who was cheating. Morefun penalises deliberately forming a team with a cheater. It also spells out the exception: "matching with a cheating player by turning on auto-match during matchmaking will not be penalized." The risk is pre-made squads. Since Season 6, accounts with "abnormal launcher environments are generally treated as the main plug-in account, and associative penalties are applied to those teaming up with them". Season 6 penalised more than 14,000 players for teaming with cheaters.
2. Someone else played your account. This is the rule that catches people out. Point 10 of the Ten "Don'ts" says sharing or renting an account, or letting someone play on it for you, "will be regarded as the act of the account or device owner themselves. Therefore, lifting bans on accounts or devices will not be possible." That covers paid "boosting" or "piloting" services, a friend levelling your account, and anyone using your PC. If they cheated or traded on your login, the ban is yours, and Morefun says it will not be lifted.
3. You bought or sold items or Koen for real money. ABI has no way to gift items or Koen directly to another player, so a real-money trade has to happen as a hand-off inside a raid, which is exactly what Morefun's October 2025 notice describes and punishes. Its October 13, 2025 notice says buyers get "all of the profits gained through this method" confiscated and a lower Merit Score, and repeat offenders face "up to double the illicitly obtained items' value in Koen confiscated". Sellers face escalating bans up to ten years. Koen can't be bought legally at all: Morefun removed the purchase system at the 1.0 launch (see our pay-to-win explainer).
4. Your PC looked suspicious. According to the Season 6 Security Report, players whose environment seems suspicious are handled first this way: "we will prioritize removing them from raids or issuing a short-term ban." Examples include opening the client "under abnormal circumstances", third-party tools that read or modify the client, and odd data calibrations. Their replays then go to the Replay Expert Team. That first step is a review hold, not a verdict. DMA Guard, which has been rolling out since August 2026, adds a hardware check that needs Intel VT-d or AMD IOMMU switched on in your BIOS.
A DMA Guard prompt is not a ban. If the B.D.C. Security Center blocks you from a raid, follow our DMA Guard VT-d / IOMMU fix guide instead of filing an appeal.
How do you appeal an Arena Breakout: Infinite ban?
Morefun doesn't publish a separate "ban appeal" form on its English site. The official support routes, stated in its Full Release FAQ on Steam (September 16, 2025), are:
- In-game: Settings → Privacy → Customer Service. If the ban stops you logging in, use the website route.
- Official website: arenabreakoutinfinite.com → Support → Contact Us.
- Discord: the official FAQ says you can "join our Discord community and submit your feedback to an official moderator". Players in this week's subreddit thread point to a false-ban form in the Discord's community-support section. That's a community report, not something Morefun has published.
What to put in the ticket:
- Your in-game name and UID, and the exact date and time the ban appeared, with the penalty wording as shown.
- Whether anyone else has ever logged into the account or used the PC. Answer honestly, because point 10 decides this question.
- The squadmates you queued with in your last few raids, and whether they were friends or auto-matched. Auto-matched teammates are excluded from the teaming rule.
- Your hardware and software list, especially anything that touches memory or input: macro software, overlays, capture cards, PCIe devices.
- One detailed ticket per channel. One player in the thread says they've appealed about 20 times. Morefun hasn't said that repeat tickets help.
Be realistic about timing. Players in the thread report waits of weeks to months, one at "2.5 months and still counting", and mostly templated replies. A few say accounts were returned, but slowly. Those are player reports, not official figures. Morefun doesn't publish appeal success rates or turnaround times.
Two things not to do. Don't buy a "ban removal" or "unban" service, because no such legitimate service exists. Don't make a new account on the same hardware, since device bans are listed separately and repeat cases get escalated.
Do 10-year bans ever get lifted?
Sometimes, but only if the original verdict was wrong. Morefun runs replays past the Inspector Community, its player-jury system: 13,058 Inspectors reviewed 718,259 cases in Season 6 and 618 cheaters were banned through it (Outstanding Inspectors Episode 3, October 20, 2026). It also has a Replay Expert Team for disputed cases. Our Inspector Community guide explains how that review works.
What will not get lifted, by Morefun's own wording:
- Shared, rented or piloted accounts. "Lifting bans on accounts or devices will not be possible."
- Verified cheating. The ten-year account-and-device ban is the stated default, and history gets re-checked: current bans can be "extended".
For AFK and passive play in Supplies Drops and Zombie Endless, the September 20, 2026 crackdown scales with severity. Repeat offences get progressively longer mode restrictions, and "serious violations will result in a 10-year account ban", with no guaranteed lighter step first. Our AFK ban guide covers that ladder.
How can you avoid a ban in Season 7?
- Never share your login, not with a friend, a streamer or a paid service. Turn on the Class II Password that Morefun recommends for account security.
- Don't buy or sell Koen or items for cash. Buyers get punished too, and confiscation can be twice the value.
- Leave a squad if a teammate is obviously cheating, and report them in-game. Auto-matched teammates are safe; deliberately joining a cheater's squad isn't.
- Don't exploit bugs, even ones "everyone is using". Bug abuse is on the 10-year list.
- Keep VT-d/IOMMU enabled and avoid memory-reading tools, overlays you don't trust, and macro software.
- Actually play in Supplies Drops and Zombie Endless. Idling for the payout is now an enforced violation.
FAQ
How long is a 10-year ban in Arena Breakout: Infinite? It's exactly what it says: the account is locked for ten years. That isn't technically permanent, but it's the longest penalty Morefun hands out. Morefun lists it as the top penalty in every fortnightly Bans Notice, and verified cheating usually comes with a device ban as well.
Why did I get a 10-year ban when I didn't cheat? The most common documented causes are someone else playing your account (which Morefun treats as your own violation), deliberately squadding with a cheater, real-money trading, or bug abuse. A suspicious PC environment usually leads to a short ban and replay review first, not an instant 10-year ban.
How do I appeal a ban in Arena Breakout: Infinite? Contact customer service through Settings → Privacy → Customer Service in the client, or Support → Contact Us on arenabreakoutinfinite.com, and include your UID, the ban date, the teammates you queued with, and whether anyone else has used the account. You can also raise it with a moderator in the official Discord.
Will I get banned for being matched with a cheater? Not through auto-match. Morefun states that matching with a cheating player via auto-match "will not be penalized". Deliberately forming a squad with a cheater is what gets punished.
What does "Koen confiscated" mean in the Bans Notice? It's the "Playing with Hackers" penalty: Morefun takes back raid earnings gained alongside a verified cheater, without banning you. The October 28, 2026 notice lists 9,812 Koen confiscations, the highest in any report since full release.
Can I make a new account after a 10-year ban? Not safely. Morefun issues device and IP bans as a separate penalty and extends existing bans when it reviews historical data, so a new account on the same hardware risks the same outcome.
