Chucky is leaving the Dead by Daylight stores, not existing owners’ Killer rosters. Behaviour’s new Chucky content FAQ sets a purchase deadline of 24 November 2026 at 11am ET and explains what happens to his cosmetics, perks, progression and achievements. The important distinction is between acquiring content and continuing to use content you already unlocked.

This guide breaks down the deadline, the different platform sale windows, the three renamed perks, and the purchases you do—or do not—need to make. Checked 25 October 2026, during live Patch 10.2.2. The removal is a future store change, not something that has already happened in today’s matches.

Quick answer: Chucky content becomes unavailable to acquire on 24 November 2026 at 11am ET. Existing owners keep playing him, levelling him and obtaining his Add-Ons. BHVR lists a 50% last-chance sale with different start dates by platform. Non-owners will get access to renamed General versions of his three perks; buying Chucky is not the only future route to those perks.

When is Chucky leaving DBD?

Behaviour’s official Chucky content FAQ gives the cutoff as 11am Eastern Time on 24 November 2026. It says the DLC will be removed from all platform stores and Chucky-related content will no longer be available to acquire after that deadline.

For planning, that cutoff converts to the following times on 24 November. These are conversions of BHVR’s published Eastern deadline, not separate regional announcements.

Time zonePurchase cutoff on 24 November 2026
US Pacific, PST8am
US Eastern, EST11am
UTC / UK GMT4pm
Central Europe, CET5pm

Do not treat “available until November 24” as meaning you have until midnight. The announcement specifies a morning cutoff in Eastern Time. Our practical recommendation is to complete any intended purchase before the final day, then check that the character or outfit is actually unlocked on your account.

The date is also not a new patch release date. The latest released build in the official Steam patch announcement is 10.2.2 at this check. For gameplay changes rather than store availability, use our current DBD patch notes.

Can you still play Chucky after the removal?

Yes, if you unlocked him before the deadline. BHVR’s answer is explicit: “Any content unlocked before the November 24th deadline will remain playable in game.” That is the central promise in the official FAQ, and it rules out the idea that everyone loses their purchased Killer on removal day.

The announcement distinguishes several forms of access. Use this table to avoid buying something solely because you think progression is about to disappear.

Content or featureWhat BHVR confirms
Chucky already unlockedRemains playable after the cutoff
Previously unlocked cosmeticsRemain available to their owners
Bloodweb and Add-OnsOwners can keep investing Bloodpoints and obtaining Add-Ons
Prestige rewardsOwners can still earn three Prestige Cosmetics and three Perk Charms
Character QuestsContinue for characters you own
Streaming purchased contentNo Chucky Chapter streaming restriction is introduced
Bug fixesBHVR says it will continue supporting Chucky and can fix bugs

You therefore do not need to finish his Prestige progression before November 24 simply to preserve the rewards. The FAQ separately confirms continued levelling and those six progression rewards. Buying the character and buying every store cosmetic are different decisions: owning Chucky does not mean an outfit you never acquired is automatically added to your collection.

This is also why a removal announcement is not a tier-list change. It changes who can acquire the character, rather than declaring him unusable or changing his competitive strength. If your purchase depends on gameplay preference, compare our DBD Killer tier list rather than assuming a limited purchase window makes him a stronger Killer.

When does the DBD Chucky last-chance sale start?

The BHVR support version of the FAQ says players can acquire Chucky and his related cosmetics at 50% off, then lists the following platform windows. The forum version separately labels its platform entries as 50% off the Chucky DLC.

Platform or regionListed sale startListed final date
Epic Games26 October 202624 November 2026
Xbox / Windows Store26 October 202624 November 2026
PlayStation2 November 202624 November 2026
Steam10 November 202624 November 2026
Nintendo Switch, North America26 October 202624 November 2026
Nintendo Switch, Europe27 October 202624 November 2026
Nintendo Switch, Japan28 October 202624 November 2026

As of this guide’s 25 October check, none of these listed last-chance windows has started. A Steam player should not expect the November 10 promotion to be active just because Epic’s window starts October 26. Similarly, Switch dates differ by region; “Switch sale starts October 26” is incomplete without the North American qualifier.

The support FAQ confirms the percentage but does not provide a complete outfit-by-outfit checkout price list. We are not inventing an Auric Cell total for every cosmetic or promising a particular local-currency price. Check the actual item and platform store when the relevant window opens, especially if you already own part of the collection.

A useful buying order is to decide whether you want Chucky himself, then separately decide which specific cosmetics you want. Do not confuse the character’s continuing Bloodweb progression with the store’s expiring opportunity to buy outfits. The first remains available to owners; the second has the published cutoff.

What happens to Chucky’s perks when he leaves?

BHVR says owners keep Chucky’s three perks in his Bloodweb with their original names and flavour text. For players who have not unlocked him, the perks will be available through the General perk pool, under new names.

The naming split is important when you search for builds after the transition. A guide or player discussing Friends Til the End may be talking about the licensed name, while a non-owner encounters One Track Mind. Keep the mapping handy instead of assuming these are six unrelated perks.

The FAQ’s perk section describes availability and names. It does not supply a new balance table or announce fresh effect numbers for these renamed versions. Consequently, this guide does not turn the rename into an invented buff, nerf, or new synergy recommendation.

The practical purchase implication is straightforward: do not buy Chucky solely because you believe his three perks will become permanently unobtainable to non-owners. BHVR has announced a General-pool route. Buy him if you want to play the character; judge the perk route separately. General-pool availability also should not be read as a promise that every non-owner instantly receives every perk at Tier III: the FAQ says they become available to unlock.

For broader build choices, our best Killer perks guide covers the wider perk pool. This removal guide deliberately keeps its perk advice focused on access and naming rather than duplicating a full build ranking.

Can you buy Chucky outfits after November 24?

BHVR says the last opportunity to acquire Chucky outfits is 11am on 24 November 2026, and it states that there will be no future outfits. Previously unlocked content remains available, but that is not permission to buy missing store cosmetics later.

This distinction matters most for an existing owner who has stopped checking the store. Keeping the Killer does not preserve an indefinite shopping window for his collection. If you want an existing outfit, the published plan is to acquire it before the cutoff.

Prestige Cosmetics are a separate exception explicitly covered in the FAQ: owners can continue levelling and earning the three Prestige Cosmetics and three Perk Charms. Do not collapse those progression rewards into the statement about store outfits.

The Good Guys Box Charm needs careful wording too. The official Chucky Chapter page describes it as an exclusive Charm unlocked by purchasing the add-on. The removal FAQ says players retain content already unlocked. Neither statement is a reason to promise that every different character-purchase route grants the DLC-exclusive bonus. If the Charm is the reason you are buying, check the exact add-on listing rather than assuming a standalone character unlock is identical.

Why is Chucky leaving Dead by Daylight?

BHVR’s published FAQ gives no reason for the removal. It confirms the removal plan and what happens to players’ content, but does not establish a contract length, a lawsuit, a failed negotiation, or a particular rights-holder dispute.

The fresh player discussion that prompted this guide is full of those theories. That makes the question worth answering, but does not make any theory a verified explanation. We are not treating repeated community guesses as independent evidence about the reason for the removal.

Likewise, the FAQ does not announce a return date. A future comeback is not something you should rely on when deciding whether to acquire the character before the stated deadline. The confirmed options are the current purchase window and continued access for existing owners; anything beyond them needs a new first-party announcement.

What happens to achievements, refunds and cross-progression?

BHVR says Chucky-related achievements will become generic rather than character-specific. It also says completed achievements remain recognised and current progress is retained. The FAQ does not list the replacement achievement names or every revised requirement, so those details are not available to reproduce here.

For refunds, its stated policy is that no refunds will be issued because of this removal, since purchased Chucky content remains playable. That is the developer’s announcement, not a claim that this guide can determine every platform’s refund rules or an individual buyer’s legal rights.

For cross-progression, BHVR says previously unlocked content remains unlocked when you cross-progress your accounts. That statement is about retaining acquired content, not receiving content you never purchased. For the account-linking process and its separate conditions, see our DBD cross-progression setup guide.

What should you do before the deadline?

  • Already own Chucky and your preferred cosmetics? No emergency levelling grind is required by the announcement. Keep playing; BHVR confirms continued progression.
  • Want to play Chucky but do not own him? Use your platform’s listed sale window and complete the unlock before 24 November at 11am ET.
  • Only interested in his perks? Read the General-pool announcement before spending. Non-owners are not being permanently locked out of those perks.
  • Own him but want another outfit? Treat that as a separate store purchase with the same final acquisition deadline.
  • Want the DLC-exclusive Charm? Verify the add-on listing and your purchase route; do not rely on a generic promise about unlocking the character.

FAQ

Is Chucky being deleted from DBD? No. BHVR says content unlocked before the 24 November 2026 deadline remains playable. The announced change removes the opportunity to acquire Chucky-related content, not existing owners’ access.

What time does Chucky leave the stores? The published cutoff is 11am ET on 24 November 2026, equivalent to 4pm UTC that day. Do not assume the sale or availability lasts until midnight.

Are Chucky cosmetics 50% off? BHVR’s support FAQ states a 50% last-chance discount for Chucky and related cosmetics, with platform-specific dates. It does not publish a complete cosmetic price list, so verify the displayed item price during the appropriate window.

Will Chucky’s perks be free after removal? BHVR says non-owners can unlock renamed versions from the General perk pool. That means Chucky ownership is not required for the announced route; it does not promise an automatic Tier III grant on every Killer.

Can I Prestige Chucky after November 24? Yes, if you unlocked him before the deadline. BHVR confirms continued levelling, Add-Ons, three Prestige Cosmetics and three Perk Charms for owners.

Has BHVR confirmed why Chucky is leaving? The content FAQ does not disclose a reason for the removal. Claims about lawsuits, contract duration or negotiations remain unverified unless Behaviour publishes supporting information.
