FC 27 prices aren't crashing yet, and GTA 6 alone probably won't be what crashes them. The bigger November risk is Black Friday supply, with GTA 6 adding extra pressure on console around 19 November. This guide uses 30 days of console price data to show what EA SPORTS FC 27 players should sell, what to keep and when to act.
It's written for Season 2 of EA FC 27 (22 October to 3 December 2026), with Ultimate Scream live and RTTK expected next.
Quick answer (TLDR): GTA 6 is due on 19 November on PS5 and Xbox Series only. Expect pressure on the shared console market, while PC trades on its own market. Black Friday on 27 November is still the larger supply event. Base ICONs look the most exposed, up 30.5% in 30 days on NokaFut's console index. The 5% EA tax means a card must fall more than 5% before selling and rebuying makes any coins. Sell spare cards by mid-November, keep your starting XI, and set target prices for late November, buying as soon as they're hit.

Will GTA 6 crash the FC 27 market?
Our call is a console dip, not a GTA-only collapse. Nobody has a clean precedent. GTA V launched in September 2013, days before FIFA 14, at the very end of a FIFA cycle, so it tells us nothing about a mid-season market. We found no public price data from a comparable launch, so treat any exact crash percentage as a guess.
The question is live because a r/fut thread from 2 November asked why fewer active players would crash prices at all. Replies split three ways: players will sell up to go and play GTA, players will come back for Rivals and Champions, or Black Friday will matter more than GTA either way.
The data supports the third view. GTA 6 changes who is buying for a while. Black Friday has usually added cards to packs, and that's what has moved prices in past years.
What does the FC 27 market look like right now?
It's stable and jumpy, not crashing. NokaFut's market page, checked on 2 November at 16:00 UTC, scored the market 52 out of 100, its "stable" reading. Of the cards worth 1,000 coins or more that had changed price in 24 hours, 1,137 rose and 1,033 fell.
Each index tracks a fixed group of cards and starts at 100 on 4 October. These are console figures:
| Index | 2 Nov | 30-day high | From high | Days moving 5%+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| All base ICONs | 130.5 | 135.1 (30 Oct) | -3.4% | 1 of 29 |
| 10 cheapest of each rating, 80 to 89 | 107.8 | 128.0 (7 Oct) | -15.8% | 11 of 29 |
| 20 cheapest 85s | 108.8 | 132.3 (7 Oct) | -17.8% | 15 of 29 |
| 20 cheapest 84s | 111.4 | 163.9 (24 Oct) | -32.0% | 21 of 29 |
Three things stand out:
- A 15% drop isn't a crash this year. The 100-card index already fell 13.1% in a single day last month, then recovered. The 85s swung between 90.7 and 132.3.
- ICONs have barely been tested. They rose almost in a straight line, with only one 5% day. They sit close to their high, which leaves them the most room to fall.
- The last 48 hours were soft. The 100-card index fell 5.3% in the 48 hours to 2 November, and FUT Evolution's 1 November report had several Ultimate Scream cards down 25% to 40% in a day. That looks like promo supply, not GTA.
Coin supply also pushes against a collapse. EA's FUT Developer Launch Update said this on 1 October:
"Coin balances are more than 50% higher than at the same point last year and we're seeing plenty of Transfer Market activity."
That's an early-season figure and EA hasn't updated it, but it helps explain why FC 27 coin balances have kept prices firm.
Why would fewer players make prices fall?
Because players leave in one rush but rejoin slowly. The Reddit thread's objection is fair: if people stop opening packs, fewer new cards reach the market. That's true over several weeks. The first days work differently:
- Some leavers sell first. A player quitting for a month has a reason to swap a squad for coins, and those cards all land at once.
- Traders move early. If enough people expect a drop, they sell ahead of it and create it.
- Buyers thin out. Fewer active squads means fewer people bidding on those extra listings.
- Fodder demand can fall. Fewer SBC grinders means less steady buying of cheap rated cards.
Later on, lower pack supply should support prices. That's a reason to avoid selling into the first panic. It's our reasoning from how the market works, not a measured result, because there's no comparable launch to test it against.
Last year offers a partial guide to the calendar. On Steam Charts, FC 26's average player count dropped 16.1% from October to November 2025, from 45,051 to 37,779, then rose 14% in December. So November already had a natural dip with no GTA involved, and players returned around Black Friday and Christmas. Steam only covers PC and this is one year's data, so read it as a hint and nothing more.
Does GTA 6 affect PC or only console prices?
Directly, only console. Rockstar's official page lists GTA 6 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, and no PC version has been announced. That split matters because FC 27 markets are separate. FUT Flipper notes that PS4, PS5 and Xbox share one transfer market, and NokaFut lists separate console and PC prices for the same card.
That gives you three different situations:
- PS5 and Xbox Series players: this is the market GTA 6 can hit.
- PS4 and Xbox One players: GTA 6 won't be on your console, but you trade on the same market, so you still get the effect.
- PC players: GTA 6 shouldn't push your market directly, so a PC crash on 19 November would need a different cause. Black Friday supply still applies.
This also gives you a free test. Compare a card's console and PC prices on NokaFut from 19 November. If console falls while PC holds, that points to GTA, though it doesn't prove it. If both fall, promo supply is the likelier cause.
What is the biggest crash risk in November?
Black Friday, by a distance. Here's how we rank the triggers. This is our judgement, based on what each one adds to the market:
| Rank | Trigger | Date | Why it matters | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Black Friday pack supply | 27 Nov | Re-released cards hit packs, saved packs get opened | Date fixed, promo unannounced |
| 2 | Pre-crash selling | Mid-Nov | Traders sell before the event | Expected |
| 3 | Champion ICONs entering packs | No date | Direct ICON supply | EA: "later in the cycle" |
| 4 | GTA 6 launch | 19 Nov | Console sellers, fewer buyers | Rockstar date |
| 5 | Title Update 1.2.0 | Mid-Nov | Can move meta cards | EA window |
| 6 | RTTK | 6 Nov expected | One more promo in packs | Not confirmed by EA |
The first two are linked. fifauteam's trading guide puts it directly: "Many players only start buying when the promo is out. That's a big mistake since prices usually hit the lowest value before that."
Players in the 2 November r/fut thread described the same shape. One recalled an Mbappé card falling about 700,000 coins in the two weeks before last year's event, then regaining around 300,000 in the two weeks after. That's a player's memory, not verified data. Our Black Friday guide has the sale and promo details.

How much must a card fall before selling pays?
More than 5%, because of the 5% EA tax. A 1,000,000 coin card nets you 950,000, so you only start winning once you can rebuy below that.
| Rebuy price compared with your sale | Rebuy cost | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 10% higher | 1,100,000 | -150,000 |
| Same price | 1,000,000 | -50,000 |
| 5% lower | 950,000 | 0 |
| 10% lower | 900,000 | +50,000 |
| 20% lower | 800,000 | +150,000 |
| 30% lower | 700,000 | +250,000 |
Compare that with last month's swings. A 5% to 10% fall happens all the time on this market, so selling a card you play with to catch one isn't worth it. You pay the tax and lose the card for your Rivals and Champions matches. The trade only makes sense if you expect a drop of about 15% or more, or if you weren't using the card anyway.
Only tradeable cards count here. Untradeable items can't be sold, so there's nothing to decide on those.
What should you sell before 19 November?
Sell what sits unused and keep what wins you matches. Ranked from most to least urgent:
- Spare base ICONs. They've risen 30.5%, and EA's Season 1 article says Champion ICONs "will enter the Ultimate Team player pool later in the cycle". A past rise doesn't prove a future fall, but it does make this the group we'd least want to hold spare. If an ICON is in your club and not your team, this is the clearest sell.
- Spare high-value promo cards. Older specials are the most exposed to re-releases. If you're keeping an Ultimate Scream card for its boost, EA's Ultimate Scream article confirms one face stat goes to 99 "for one full week, starting November 24, 2026".
- Meta cards you're benching. Title Update 1.2.0 could change their value as well.
- Your starting XI: keep it. If you plan to play on, the tax and lost matches usually outweigh the saving.
- Fodder: don't speculate. The 84s fell 32% in nine days, but the same index also jumped 30.9% in one day last month. Buy on dips for SBCs you'll actually do. Our market cycle guide has the weekly timing.
Quitting for GTA 6 and not coming back this season? Then sell everything tradeable before mid-November. We'd rather hold coins than cards through Black Friday, and the tax is a fair price for leaving.
What is the FC 27 market plan for November?
Sell early, watch the middle of the month, and buy at a target price. Lows often arrive before the promo, so if a card reaches your price before 27 November, buy it then. RTTK and Black Friday details below are estimates until EA posts them.
| Date | Action |
|---|---|
| Now to 8 Nov | List spare ICONs and benched cards. RTTK is expected on 6 November |
| 9 to 15 Nov | Hold coins. Don't pay a premium for meta cards before Title Update 1.2.0 |
| 16 to 18 Nov | Last sensible exit for anything spare on console |
| 19 to 23 Nov | Don't panic sell. Compare console and PC prices, and buy if a target price is hit |
| 24 to 26 Nov | Sell a spare Ultimate Scream card into the boost week if you were selling anyway |
| 27 to 30 Nov | Buy any remaining targets after the first rush, using a set price |
| 3 Dec | Keep some coins back for Season 3 |
Top up your squad only when you've seen a real drop, not a headline. If 15% hasn't shown up by Black Friday week, don't force a buy. FC 27's stronger coin balances could mean a shallower dip than players remember.

FAQ
Will the FC 27 market crash when GTA 6 comes out? A console dip is likely, but nobody can give a reliable size. GTA 6 launches on 19 November on PS5 and Xbox Series. The larger risk is Black Friday supply on 27 November, and selling may start before either date.
When is the FC 27 Black Friday market crash? Past drops were reported in the weeks before the day, not on it. Black Friday is 27 November 2026. EA hasn't announced an FC 27 promo, so treat 25 to 30 November as an estimate for the busiest period.
Should I sell my FC 27 team before GTA 6? Only if you're quitting. If you'll keep playing, sell spare ICONs and benched cards and keep your starting XI. A card has to fall more than 5% just to cover the tax.
Does GTA 6 affect the FC 27 market on PC? Not directly, because GTA 6 isn't announced for PC and PC has its own transfer market. PC prices can still fall on Black Friday supply.
Are FC 27 ICONs going to drop in price? They look the most exposed, though nothing guarantees a fall. Base ICONs are up 30.5% in 30 days on NokaFut's console index, and EA says Champion ICONs will enter the player pool later in the cycle. EA hasn't given a date.
Is it worth buying coins before the crash? Hold off on big buys until a drop has actually arrived. Coins go further after a fall, so the best time to use them is late November, not today.
