Quick answer: Blizzard has not published a separate "launch patch notes" article for World of Warcraft: Forever. The official notes for the launch build are community manager Kaivax's Development Notes, updated November 2, posted on the Blizzard forums at 03:20 UTC on November 3 (post 9). They cover everything since the October 15 beta build: higher class damage across the board with tougher high-level mobs, class training set at 206-207 gold for every class, faster respawns in starting zones, new spells no longer auto-filling your bars, a final racial pass, and controller support marked complete. Launch maintenance runs 10:00 a.m. to about 3:00 p.m. PST on November 4, and the game opens at 23:00 UTC. We log every hotfix below as Blizzard posts it.

Last verified: Nov 3, 2026, 11:25 UTC. Official source: WoW Forever Development Notes, updated November 2 (Kaivax, Blizzard forums). Hotfix entries marked "client data" were read from the game files by tracker sites before Blizzard posted anything.

This page is the dated log for the launch build: systems, world, races, a short class summary and every hotfix after it. The full per-class talent reference lives in our WoW Forever talents guide, and the October 30 class change log in our class changes breakdown.

Are there official WoW Forever launch patch notes?

Yes, but not under that name. Blizzard keeps one running thread on the forums, "WoW Forever Beta Development Notes", and edits it with each build. The last full beta update was the October 15 build. The November 2 update says it covers "the updates and changes that have been developed over those last 2.5 weeks", including the racial changes Blizzard posted on October 26 and 27, "for completeness". It closes with: "we can't wait to see you on November 4!"

What does not exist yet, as of this check:

  • No launch patch notes article on news.blizzard.com. The latest WoW hotfix article, Hotfixes: October 30, 2026, has no Forever entries.
  • No launch known-issues thread that we could find in the Forever forums. During beta, Blizzard kept one pinned on the beta forum.
  • No live-game hotfix post for Forever. The realms are closed until launch.

When does the WoW Forever launch build go live?

November 4 at 3:00 p.m. PST, which is 23:00 UTC and midnight CET going into November 5 (Blizzard News). Before that, a Battle.net app notice quoted on the Blizzard forums and by Wowhead says: "scheduled maintenance beginning on Wednesday, November 4th, 10:00 AM (PST) ... available again at approximately 3:00 PM (PST). During this time the game will be unavailable for play." That window is 18:00 to about 23:00 UTC. Blizzard has not posted it on its news site. For your local time, see our launch time in every time zone.

What changed in the WoW Forever launch build?

Outside class tuning, these are the changes in the November 2 notes that affect every player on day one:

AreaChange in the launch build
Class trainingTotal cost to train class abilities from 1 to 60 is now 206-207 gold for all classes; Warlock costs are reduced by the expected cost of pet Grimoires
Action barsLearning new spells no longer adds them to your action bars automatically
BagsNew bags no longer equip themselves into empty bag slots
RespawnsRespawn rates adjusted across the world: fastest in starting zones, slower as you level
QuestsQuest XP values, prerequisites and level settings adjusted; objective tooltips and map markers added
Base statsAll races now get the correct base stats; Tauren Warriors start with +5 Strength over Human Warriors (was +2), and Skyborne stats were fixed too
Crowd controlRoots from procs (Frostbite, Entrapment, Improved Wing Clip, Counterattack, Improved Hamstring) now have diminishing returns
Controllers"Gamepad Support has entered a complete functional state", covering movement, spells, interaction and UI
PvPDropping the flag in Darkspear Islands no longer gives you the Recently Dropped Flag debuff

The respawn change is likely the one you notice first. Blizzard's note: "Some contention for spawns is expected and part of the experience - it is not our goal to remove that." The team adds that once the launch surge of low-level characters settles down, "we will adjust the lower-level zones down to more typical rates." Blizzard has not given a date for that, so expect starter-zone respawns to slow down at some point after launch week's rush.

Other fixes in the same notes include Ruins of Lordaeron dungeon quests now all needing level 15, a Wetlands fix for the quest "Carnage", the Darkshore quest "Holy Diver" now giving XP, and some satyrs reclassified from humanoids to demons. Blizzard's comment on that last one: they are "now 100% more scared of Paladins."

What changed for classes in the launch build?

WoW Forever Priest talent window with the Discipline, Holy and Shadow trees, from Blizzard's Priest deep dive

Beta screenshot from Blizzard's September 30 Priest deep dive; Holy's 16-point talent changed on November 2.

The headline: "So over the last two weeks, we've raised damage on classes across the game, and have increased the health of higher level creatures to compensate." Blizzard also says that apart from bugs and serious outliers it does not plan big tuning changes before raids open on December 9.

ClassBiggest change in the November 2 notes
DruidBerserk removed; Feral gets two 31-point talents (Primal Bite for Bear, Shifting Power for Cat); Bear Form threat 50% to 115%; Shred 200%, Starfire about +40%
HunterAimed Shot bonus damage about +110%, Arcane Shot about +30%, all traps on one shared 30-second cooldown, Sniper Shot +100%
MageCritical Mass back to 3 points for 6%; Ice Lance 300% vs Frozen with an 8-second cooldown; Ice Barrier now adds Frost damage; Frost Blast removed
PaladinSalvation, Mass Salvation, Revoke and Blessing of Light removed; Righteous Fury at level 10; new capstones Unsealed Wrath and Shieldsworn
PriestBinding Heal replaced by Holy Binding; Shadow Word: Death backlash 10% to 30% of max health
RogueNew Shank ability at 24 and Poised at 18; poison attack power scaling doubled; Mutilate is now the Assassination 31-point talent; Death Mark is the new Subtlety capstone
ShamanLava Burst removed for Call of Thunder; Lightning Bolt max rank +80%; Stormstrike 150% on a 6-second cooldown; Riptide heal-over-time only
WarlockPets get 2 Health per point of your Stamina (was 7.5); Wrack level 60 damage per second 36 to 86
WarriorDefensive Stance threat 30% to 80%; Slam cooldown 15 seconds; new Fury talents Reckless Swings and Improved Whirlwind

One rule applies to everyone: most talents no longer lose proc chance when you cast a low spell rank. The exception is the Mage spell Blizzard: casting a rank learned more than 12 levels below your level still lowers its chance to trigger Arcane Concentration, Frostbite and Fingers of Frost. For every 11, 16, 21 and 31-point talent by tree, use the talents guide; for leveling picks after these changes, see the best class to level tier list.

What changed for races in the launch build?

Blizzard posted the final racial pass on October 26 (post 7), added three changes on October 27 (post 8), and repeated all of it in the November 2 notes. Its stated reason: it "prioritized racial identity", so some races will be slightly better at certain roles. Weapon specializations stay removed.

RaceLaunch values
HumanRuthless +1% crit (was 2%); Human Spirit +10% Spirit (was 5%)
DwarfEarth Fury removed; new Artisan's Precision, +1% hit with spells and attacks
OrcSavage removed; Command back (+5% Warlock and Hunter pet damage); Blood Fury cooldown 2 minutes
TaurenPlainsrunning 2% per stack up to 60%, no longer affects mounted speed; Endurance is +5% Health only
TrollBerserking lasts 15 seconds (was 10)
UndeadTouch of the Grave internal cooldown 15 seconds (was 25)
SkyborneWind-Blessed haste 2% (was 3%); Read Leyline +50% regen for 15 seconds, raised to 100% while Attuned (a 1-hour buff from using it at a Ley Line); Skysight +15% speed for 15 seconds, raised to 30% while Charged (a 1-hour buff from using it at an elemental convergence)

Attuned and Charged persist through death but are removed when you enter a raid. Gnome and Night Elf were not changed in this pass. For which race to pick per class, see our best race for every class.

What changed on Nov 3?

  • 03:20 UTC: Kaivax posted the November 2 Development Notes, the first official text for the October 30 class changes that client trackers had read from the game files days earlier.
  • Client data, not Blizzard: the tracker site foreverchanges.pro reports a hotfix first seen on November 3 in the data the launch realms send. It carries Hunter numbers that match Blizzard's notes: Aspect of the Hawk 20/35/50/70/90/110 ranged attack power by rank, Trueshot Aura 20/35/50/75/100, Barrage 5/10/15% and Lightning Reflexes 3-15% Agility. This looks like the server delivering what the notes announced. It cannot be checked in game until launch.
  • Player reaction: the Forever General Discussion forum filled with class feedback threads within hours. One of the busiest, with 82 posts by 11:25 UTC, asks Blizzard to bring back Lava Burst. Others questioned the Shaman leveling impact, the Warlock pet changes and Protection Paladin. No Blizzard reply in those threads as of this check.

What is in the WoW Forever hotfix log?

Newest first. "Client data" rows were read from the game files by tracker sites before Blizzard posted notes; treat them as provisional.

What are the known issues at WoW Forever launch?

Blizzard has not posted a launch known-issues list. These are the pre-launch problems with a staff answer, all from character creation week:

  • "No realms are currently available. (WOW51900309)": Blizzard's Vrakthris advised reserving on a ruleset you can reach, then deleting and recreating on the one you want "when you are able to."
  • Faction locked on a ruleset: Blizzard's support article on name reservation says creation is "temporarily restricted for the dominant faction" and "Customer Support cannot help bypassing this restriction." Our faction unavailable guide covers the workarounds.
  • Roleplay and Roleplay-PvP rulesets: Vrakthris said they have been "causing no small number of issues"; the advice was to delete and recreate where you want, since names are unique per region.

For queues and outages after launch, check our WoW Forever server status page.

When is the next WoW Forever patch?

The next fixed content date is December 9, when the first raids open: Barrow Deeps (10 players), Hyjal Summit (20) and Onyxia's Lair (40) (Blizzard News). On tuning, Blizzard says it expects "a large tuning pass" once it has enough data from players leveling past 30. The Hardcore ruleset is due "sometime after launch" with no date. See our WoW Forever roadmap after launch for the longer calendar, or every guide on the WoW Forever hub.
