Quick answer: In World of Warcraft: Forever you get your first talent point at level 10 and have 51 points at level 60. Each class still has three trees with the same number of rows as original WoW, and the one-point milestone talents sit at 11, 16, 21 and 31 points. The 16-point milestone is new, and there is no 41-point talent. Blizzard's final pre-launch notes on November 2 changed several capstones: Druid's Berserk is gone, Paladin's Twist of Light became Unsealed Wrath, Shaman's Lava Burst became Call of Thunder, and Mutilate is now the Rogue Assassination 31-point talent. You respec at a class trainer in a major city, and Dual Specialization unlocks at level 40.

This is the talent reference for all nine classes as they launch on November 4. If you want the change log for the October 30 hotfix instead (which talents moved, which Paladin spells stopped being trained), that lives in our WoW Forever class changes breakdown. This page answers a different question: what is in each tree, and what sits at the bottom of it.

How do talents work in WoW Forever?
Blizzard's own summary from the Hunter and Druid deep dive: talents start at level 10 and "keep the familiar structure, including the same number of rows and one-point milestone talents at 11, 21, and 31 points, now joined by a new 16-point milestone" (Blizzard News). The in-game talent window shows 51 unspent points at level 60.
Four things are different from Classic Era:
- A fourth milestone. Every tree has a 16-point row, so a 21/30 or 16/35 split now picks up an extra signature talent on the way.
- The capstone is still 31 points. There is no 41-point talent. With 51 points you can take one 31-point talent plus 20 points elsewhere.
- Old "tax" talents went baseline. Blessing of Kings, Improved Mark of the Wild, Consecration, Omen of Clarity, Nature's Grasp and Divine Spirit are now trained abilities, which frees points.
- Low-rank spells proc less. Talents that grant free effects can trigger less often when you cast a much lower spell rank. The November 2 notes removed that penalty from most talents but kept it for the Mage spell Blizzard: a rank learned more than 12 levels below your level still has a reduced chance to trigger Arcane Concentration, Frostbite and Fingers of Frost.
How many talents does each class have?
Every tree was rebuilt. The counts below come from the Forever client files (build 1.60.1.70707 plus the October 30 hotfix and Blizzard's November 2 notes), as compiled by the datamine site wowforevertalents.com. These are client data, not a Blizzard table.
| Class | Talents in Forever | New in Forever | Classic Era talents removed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Druid | 52 | 14 | 8 |
| Hunter | 51 | 14 | 9 |
| Mage | 53 | 6 | 2 |
| Paladin | 51 | 20 | 13 |
| Priest | 52 | 14 | 9 |
| Rogue | 54 | 11 | 8 |
| Shaman | 50 | 11 | 7 |
| Warlock | 52 | 17 | 15 |
| Warrior | 54 | 12 | 10 |
That is 119 new talents across nine classes. Paladin changed the most (20 new talents), Mage the least (6).
What are the 11, 16, 21 and 31-point talents for every class?
These are the one-point talents on each milestone row at launch. Where a row holds two one-point talents, both are listed. Rows come from client data with the November 2 notes applied and were checked against Blizzard's deep dives. Talents Blizzard has not re-described for Forever, such as Bestial Wrath, Combustion and Mortal Strike, keep their original Classic slots in the client files.
| Class | Tree | 11 points | 16 points | 21 points | 31 points |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

One known inconsistency: Blizzard's September 30 deep dive calls Trueshot Aura the "21-point gold medal" while also saying it moved to row 4. Row 4 is the 16-point row, which is where the client puts it.
What changed in the November 2 notes and the October 30 hotfix?
On October 30, client trackers read about 216 class changes out of the hotfix cache before Blizzard had said anything, mostly Paladin (118) and Druid (43). On November 3 at 03:20 UTC, community manager Kaivax posted the official notes for that work plus new Rogue, Warrior, Shaman and Hunter changes. Per the tracker sites, some of the Rogue, Warrior and Shaman talent moves were not yet in the client files on November 3, so treat Blizzard's notes as the authority until the servers catch up.
Blizzard's stated goal: "Our aim in class design is not perfect numerical equality, but rather for every class to feel valuable to the groups they join, with powerful, unforgettable moments brought on by mastering them." The team also says it raised class damage across the game, raised the health of higher-level creatures to match, and does not plan "big tuning changes" before raids open on December 9, bugs and serious outliers aside (Blizzard forums).
What are the Druid talents in WoW Forever?
Sources: Hunter and Druid deep dive and the November 2 notes.
Feral now has two 16-point and two 31-point talents, one for Bear and one for Cat. In the November 2 notes, Berserk was removed; Primal Bite (Bear) and Shifting Power (Cat, instant 40 Energy for Mana) sit side by side on row 7. Lacerate is no longer trained by every Druid; it is a row-4 Feral talent next to the new Predatory Discipline. Heart of the Wild and Furor swapped trees.
Restoration lost Gift of the Earthmother. Bloom replaces it: when Rejuvenation or Regrowth expires, the target heals for 100% of your Spirit (50% if dispelled). Wild Growth (31) now has a 3-second base cast, and Naturalist cuts it by up to 0.5 seconds while adding up to 10% damage. Moonkin Form and Leader of the Pack are back to boosting all critical strikes and do not stack with each other.
What are the Hunter talents in WoW Forever?
Beta screenshot from Blizzard's September 30 Hunter deep dive; the launch layout differs where the November 2 notes moved talents.
Aimed Shot is baseline at level 20, so Marksmanship spends its points elsewhere. Lone Wolf (11) gives 20% more damage with no active pet. Summon Hawk (16, Beast Mastery) summons a Hawk for 18 seconds, up to two at once. Sniper Shot (31) is a 4-second cast with a 45-yard base range; the November 2 notes raised its bonus damage by 100%. Survival is a melee option now: Strider Kick (21) and Lacerating Strikes (31), which makes Mongoose Bite bleed for 21 seconds.
Baseline buffs from November 2: Aimed Shot bonus damage up about 110%, Arcane Shot up about 30%, and all traps share one 30-second cooldown.
What are the Mage talents in WoW Forever?
Beta screenshot from Blizzard's October 7 Mage deep dive, before Arcane Wrath and the November 2 changes.
Mage has the fewest new talents but the busiest Arcane tree (Mage and Shaman deep dive). Arcane Blast (11) stacks up to 4 times; on November 2 each stack became 12% of your Intellect as spell damage (was 15%), the Mana increase per stack fell to 100% and the duration rose to 18 seconds. Arcane Wrath (16) deals Fireball-like damage plus spell power equal to 5% of your maximum Mana. Fire gets Heating Up (16): crits cut your next Pyroblast's cast time by 25% per stack. Frost opens with Ice Lance (11, 300% increased damage against Frozen targets, 8-second cooldown shared with Fire Blast) and ends with a stronger Ice Barrier (31): +15% Frost damage for a minute, +5% more while the shield holds.
Also on November 2: Critical Mass went back to 3 points for 6%, Incineration became 5 points for 10%, Piercing Ice was removed, and Arcane Focus was folded into Precision (2/4/6% spell hit).
What are the Paladin talents in WoW Forever?
Paladin had the biggest rework (Paladin deep dive, then the November 2 notes). Retribution's 31-point talent is now Unsealed Wrath: melee attacks store a copy of your active Seal for 15 seconds, up to 3 stacks. Landing an attack with a different Seal consumes all stacks and gives the stored Seal its normal chance to activate once per stack. It replaced Twist of Light, so the old Seal twisting route is gone. Protection gets a new capstone, Shieldsworn: Holy Strike's cooldown drops by 4 seconds, it strikes with your shield and lets you block spells for 6 seconds. Templar's Bulwark (absorb equal to 100% of your health for 8 seconds) moved up to the 11-point row and is now dispellable. Holy adds Oath of Light at 16, with Holy Shock at 21 and Light's Vigil (now friendly-only) at 31.
Salvation, Mass Salvation, Revoke and Blessing of Light were removed. Righteous Fury trains at level 10 and gives +33% threat, plus 90% extra threat from Holy damage.

What are the Priest talents in WoW Forever?
Per the Priest and Warrior deep dive, Penance is the 21-point Discipline talent (2-second channel, 12-second cooldown) and Soul Warding (16) cuts Power Word: Shield's cooldown and cost. Holy's 16-point talent changed on November 2: Binding Heal was removed and Holy Binding took its slot, so 50% of a Flash Heal on someone else also heals you. Prayer of Mending (31) bounces for up to 5 heals. Shadowform (31) halves Shadow spell Mana costs and doubles their critical strike damage bonus. Shadow Word: Death is baseline at level 32; its self-damage on a non-kill is now 30% of your maximum health.
What are the Rogue talents in WoW Forever?
Beta screenshot from Blizzard's October 7 Rogue deep dive, before the November 2 Rogue rework.
Rogue got the largest November 2 rework on top of its deep dive, built around a new baseline ability: Shank (level 24, 5 Energy, off-hand hit that generates 15 Energy at rank 1 and 25 at rank 2, learned at 44). Mutilate moved to row 7 and is now the Assassination 31-point talent, with damage raised to 90% weapon damage. Venom dropped to the 21-point row as a passive: Shank gives +30% Poison damage and +20% application chance for 6 seconds. Murder is gone; Blood Splatter lengthens Rupture and Garrote. Subtlety's new capstone is Death Mark, a finisher that stores damage for 6 seconds and then releases it; Thousand Cuts, Quietus and Cutthroat were removed. Combat's 16-point Flawless Execution now saves 15 Energy on Eviscerate.
What are the Shaman talents in WoW Forever?
Elemental lost Lava Burst on November 2. It was replaced by Call of Thunder (+5% critical strike chance on Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning), and Elemental Mastery was renamed Lightning Mastery (31). Lightning Overload procs went up to 10/20/30%. Enhancement keeps Stormstrike at 16 (now 150% weapon damage on a 6-second cooldown) and Rage of the Farseer at 31, a personal cooldown for 30% attack speed. Restoration's Riptide (31) is heal-over-time only now, with a 12-second cooldown and about 40% lower Mana cost.
What are the Warlock talents in WoW Forever?
Each tree has a new capstone (Rogue and Warlock deep dive): Wrack (Affliction), Demonic Pact (Demonology, lets Demonic Sacrifice and Master Demonologist work together) and Incinerate (Destruction). Bane of Havoc (21) copies 15% of your damage on other targets to the Baned target. On November 2, Wrack's base damage per second at level 60 went from 36 to 86, Shadow and Flame doubled to 4-20%, and pets now get 2 Health per point of your Stamina instead of 7.5.
What are the Warrior talents in WoW Forever?
Beta screenshot from Blizzard's September 30 Warrior deep dive, before the October and November Fury changes.
Arms merges the four weapon specializations into Weaponmaster and adds Spearing Strike (16), which dismounts and deals double damage to mounted targets, Dragons and Giants. Fury's 16-point row has two picks: Raging Blows and the new Reckless Swings (costs 25% of base health, next 4 swings give 5 extra Rage). The November 2 notes also added Improved Whirlwind and made Flurry 3 points for 10/20/30% attack speed. Protection gains Vanguard (16), so you can Charge in Defensive Stance, and Defensive Stance threat rose from 30% to 80%.
How much does a respec cost in WoW Forever?
Blizzard has not published the launch price. During beta, respecs cost 1 silver if you had not changed talents recently, and Blizzard called that "temporary for the Beta only"; after a reset, the next one cost much more until an hour had passed. What is confirmed for launch: you change talents, including your Legacy talents, at a class trainer in a major city, and Dual Specialization unlocks at level 40. Blizzard's notes put the total cost to train class abilities from 1 to 60 at 206 to 207 gold for every class. Your 16 Legacy points are separate from your 51 class points; see our Legacy system guide.
Where can you plan a WoW Forever talent build?
Wowhead's WoW Forever talent calculator covers all nine classes, plans point by point up to level 60 and shares builds by link. For a class-by-class view of what changed against Classic Era, wowforevertalents.com marks each talent as new, changed or unchanged from client data. Both are third-party tools, so check any talent the November 2 notes touched against Blizzard's post.
