Brawl Stars Ranked changed substantially in Supercell's November 3, 2026 update notes. The entry requirement, usable Brawler levels, Diamond roster gate, season reset and draft tools all changed. An older guide telling you to queue with Power 9 Brawlers is no longer a reliable preparation checklist. This guide explains the confirmed rules, how the new draft tools work, and which habits help you climb without wasting upgrades.
Quick answer: Ranked now requires Power 11 at every rank and unlocks at 5,000 Trophies for new entrants. Existing Ranked players keep access. Diamond requires 12 Brawlers, six free maxed Brawlers are available each season, and the monthly reset drops you two ranks instead of six. Masters I and above no longer allow Ranked teams.
Updated November 3, 2026. Rules below come from Supercell's November release notes, not the earlier Brawl Talk preview. Coaching recommendations are labeled separately from game rules. This is a progression and drafting guide, not a day-one tier list.

What changed in Brawl Stars Ranked in November 2026?
Supercell describes the goal directly: “Ranked should be the most competitive place in Brawl Stars” in its Ranked Refresh announcement. The changes make entry stricter while reducing the amount of climbing you must repeat each season.
| System | Before | November rule |
|---|---|---|
| New-player unlock | 1,000 Trophies | 5,000 Trophies |
| Minimum Brawler power | Power 9 in Bronze through Diamond | Power 11 at every rank |
| Diamond roster | 9 Brawlers | 12 Brawlers, matching Mythic |
| Free maxed selection | 3 Brawlers per season | 6 Brawlers per season |
| Season reset | Drop of 6 ranks | Drop of 2 ranks |
| Masters matchmaking | Teams permitted previously | No teams from Masters I upward |
| Best-of-three scoring | Previous Elo system | Extra for a 2–0; smaller loss for a 1–2 |
Do not confuse Ranked with Brawl Arena: the latter still unlocks at 1,000 Trophies. That distinction explains why you might see a competitive-looking mode available while Ranked remains locked.
The reset change does not mean seasons are now longer. Supercell explicitly keeps monthly Ranked seasons. The separate Pro Pass schedule is changing too, but it is not the same timer.
What do you need to unlock Ranked now?
New entrants need 5,000 Trophies
The new unlock applies to players who have not already opened Ranked. If you unlocked it before the change, you retain access; Supercell says those players receive a Chaos Drop at the 5,000-Trophy milestone instead. Do not assume a friend below 5,000 Trophies is exploiting the system just because they can still enter.
The Trophy threshold opens the mode, but it does not waive roster requirements. Check the Ranked screen for your eligible Brawlers before spending resources, especially when approaching Diamond.
Power 11 applies throughout the ladder
Power 9 is no longer sufficient in the early ranks. Plan around Power 11 Brawlers, and review the six free maxed options for the season before choosing your next permanent upgrade.
Free seasonal access is not the same promise as permanently receiving six maxed Brawlers on your account. Treat the selection as a way to fill holes in your current draft pool, not as a reason to ignore your long-term roster.
Diamond needs a wider roster
Diamond now requires 12 Brawlers, up from nine. Since the Power 11 requirement applies throughout Ranked, a collection of twelve under-leveled Brawlers is not a solution.
Practical upgrade advice: first list the maps and roles you cannot cover. Upgrading another short-range specialist offers less flexibility if your current problem is having no comfortable long-range pick. Check the current free selection and eligibility counter in-game; do not spend based on an assumption that every free option adds a distinct new slot to your collection.
For the wider progression system, our Brawl Pass guide explains the reward types. Check the live pass before budgeting resources, because seasonal rewards and offers can change.
How do the new picks, bans and preparation screens work?
The reworked grid displays more Brawlers at once, with Gadgets and Star Powers visible on tiles. Class sorting is the new default, alongside filtering, favorites controls and Trophy sorting. Accounts with fewer than 30 Brawlers default to power-level sorting instead.
Suggest a ban after making your own
After banning one Brawler, select another to suggest that ban to teammates. This creates a coordination opportunity; it does not give you an extra personal ban.
Draft advice: suggest the pick that threatens your intended composition. If your team's plan depends on holding narrow lanes, explain which enemy option breaks that plan instead of banning whichever Brawler annoyed you in the previous match.
Offer a pick-order swap early
Players can offer to swap pick order during the early Draft phase. Use that window deliberately: a teammate who wants a contested general-purpose pick may value an earlier selection, while someone preparing a matchup-dependent counter may want to pick later.
A pick-order swap is different from exchanging selected Brawlers. The final preparation screen still supports Brawler swaps and loadout changes; the new draft option changes when you choose.
Use quick chat to solve one problem
Quick chat can request a class, counter, role or position during picks and bans. In final preparation, use it to agree on positions rather than repeating requests after the team is already locked in.
The preparation screen also gets a 3D map preview and lets you change your Skin. Those are convenience changes, not evidence of a gameplay advantage from cosmetics. Spend your preparation time checking the map and loadout first.
One important boundary: snake bans and choosing which team picks first are Friendly Room Power Match options in the notes. They are not announced as new standard Ranked queue rules. Supercell also decided against adding more Ranked ban phases for now.

How do Elo gains and the season reset work?
The November notes change two things: how match results are rewarded, and how far you fall between monthly seasons.
| Result or transition | Confirmed change | Useful response |
|---|---|---|
| Best-of-three win, 2–0 | Extra Elo for an Epic Win | Stay focused after winning the opening round |
| Best-of-three loss, 1–2 | Lose less for a Close Match | Keep playing for a round when the series starts badly |
| Early and middle ranks | Higher Elo gains | Build repeatable wins rather than hunting a fixed points formula |
| New season | Drop two ranks instead of six | Prepare to resume closer to your previous level |
| Rank Boost | No change stated | Do not assume it was removed with the smaller reset |
Supercell does not publish a fixed “every win gives X Elo” table in these notes. Avoid treating a screenshot from another player's match as a guaranteed payout for your own account.
The practical change in best-of-three is meaningful: an opening-round loss is not a reason to mentally abandon the series. Even if you ultimately lose, securing a round can improve the Elo outcome compared with being swept.
Likewise, a 1–0 lead is not permission to experiment carelessly. Repeat the lane assignments and objective timing that worked, then adjust only where opponents have found an answer. Those are coaching recommendations, not hidden Elo modifiers.
Can you queue with friends or use Play Again?
Masters I and above are solo-only for Ranked teams under the new rules. If your plan was to keep a fixed trio together through the highest ranks, that is the point where it stops being available.
Below that restriction, the new Play Again button helps players continue with teammates after a match. It is not unconditional. The notes list several cases where it is unavailable:
- At Masters and above, the button becomes Queue Again.
- The rank gap is too large.
- You do not have enough eligible Brawlers for your current rank.
- The season has ended.
If the button changes after a promotion, check the rule that changed before assuming the feature is broken. Reaching a new bracket can alter both your team options and roster eligibility.

Which stats should you review to improve?
The expanded end-of-match screen and Battle Log show takedowns, defeats, damage, healing, damage received and objective score where applicable. Ranked picks and bans are visible where applicable, and best-of-three stats are separated by round.
That is more useful than evaluating a session only by total damage. A player can deal plenty of damage while repeatedly losing the lane that matters to the objective.
A practical three-question review:
- Where did the round turn? Compare defeats and objective contributions with what you remember from the final fight.
- Was the draft answer missing? Check picks and bans before deciding that the problem was purely mechanical skill.
- What changed between rounds? Use the split stats to test whether your adaptation helped, rather than averaging the whole series together.
For map-specific pick research, Brawlify's statistics pages are a useful supplementary tool. Check the displayed data window and rank filter first. An older pool or an all-player aggregate is not proof of the strongest pick after today's balance changes. This guide intentionally does not turn pre-update win rates into a November tier ranking.
Expanded statistics shown in the official Brawl Talk preview. Example numbers illustrate the screen, not current meta win rates.
What changed for Pro Pass rewards and esports qualification?
The next Pro Pass season lasts three months, after which Supercell plans a monthly Pro Pass. The announced progression boosts are:
| Pro Pass progression | Without purchased Pro Pass | Pro Pass owner |
|---|---|---|
| XP per Ranked win | 60 | 120 |
| Weekly XP cap from Ranked wins | 1,200 | 2,400 |
| Purchase instant progress | Not applicable | 2,000 in-game or 4,000 through Supercell Store |
The owner values are calculated from the official rule that both win XP and its weekly cap are doubled. At those rates, 20 wins reach the weekly Ranked-win XP cap in either case: 1,200 ÷ 60 or 2,400 ÷ 120. That calculation concerns this XP source only, not every possible source of Pro Pass progress.
Buying a pass does not improve your matchmaking or replace the need to win. Decide whether its reward track interests you separately from your competitive goals.
The esports change is equally important: reaching Pro no longer qualifies players for BSC 2027. Supercell instead points players toward the Championship Challenge and Challengers Program. Do not grind Pro solely because an older guide promises it is still a direct qualification route.
What should you do before your first November Ranked session?
Start with eligibility: confirm access, inspect the seasonal free Brawlers, and check whether your current rank accepts your roster. Then make a small list of comfortable picks covering different map demands. This is a planning exercise, not a claim that one fixed composition wins everywhere.
Before each draft, identify the map's most important space and what your team needs to control it. Use the new ban suggestions and quick chat to communicate that need. Offer pick-order swaps early enough for teammates to act.
After each series, review one concrete mistake. If your opening round was clean but the next two collapsed, inspect the round-by-round log rather than immediately buying or upgrading a different Brawler.
For the rest of the update, see our October 31 Brawl Talk recap. Treat preview information there as background; the November 3 official notes take precedence where release details differ.
FAQ
How many Trophies do you need for Ranked now? New entrants need 5,000 Trophies. Players who already unlocked Ranked keep access, and Supercell says they receive a Chaos Drop at the 5,000-Trophy milestone instead.
Can you still use Power 9 Brawlers in Ranked? No. The November 2026 Ranked Refresh requires Power 11 Brawlers at every rank, replacing the old Power 9 allowance in Bronze through Diamond.
How many Brawlers do you need for Diamond? Diamond now requires 12 Brawlers, matching Mythic, rather than nine. The Power 11 requirement also applies. Check the in-game eligibility counter and current free selection before spending upgrades.
How far does Ranked reset each season? The November notes say the monthly reset drops you two ranks instead of six. They explicitly say there is no change to the boost.
