Most Survivor perk tier lists you will find right now are quietly out of date, and not in a small way: they still call the best anti-tunnel perk in Dead by Daylight by a name that half the playerbase no longer sees in their loadout screen.
This list applies to Patch 10.1.2, the live build published by Behaviour Interactive on September 8, 2026. Every effect, duration and percentage below was read from the current in-game description on the Official Dead by Daylight Wiki on September 11, 2026 and cross-checked against BHVR's patch notes. Tier placements are timesaver.gg editorial opinion, not official BHVR rankings, and assume solo queue at Tier III.
Quick answer: The strongest Survivor perks in DBD right now are Windows of Opportunity, Will to Live (the perk formerly known as Decisive Strike), Off the Record, Adrenaline and Sprint Burst. If you only build one loadout, run Windows of Opportunity, Sprint Burst, Off the Record and Will to Live: that covers chase, anti-tunnel and the post-unhook window all at once. Patch 10.1.2 changed no Survivor perk values, it only fixed Vigil, which had been leaking its effect onto status effects other than Exhausted.
What changed for Survivor perks in Patch 10.1.2?
Nothing was rebalanced. Patch 10.1.2 is a bugfix patch, and its Survivor-facing perk content is exactly two lines. BHVR's notes state:
"Fixed an issue where the perk "Vigil" would still affect other status effects beyond Exhausted."
That matters more than it sounds. Vigil's current description only promises faster recovery from the Exhausted Status Effect, at 20/25/30%, extended to every Survivor within 16 metres and lingering for 15 seconds after you leave that radius. Until 10.1.2 it was also shortening other status effects it was never supposed to touch, which is why some players are about to notice Blindness and Oblivious sticking around longer than they remember. Nothing about your loadout is broken. The perk was.
The other fix in that section was on the Killer side: Nowhere to Hide had an inconsistent description and in-game aura reveal range, now corrected. We covered that perk in our DBD Killer aura reading perks guide.
The last real Survivor balance pass was Patch 10.1.1 on September 1, 2026, which set Repressed Alliance to 40/35/30 seconds and Vigil to its current 20/25/30% and 16-metre shape.
Why is Decisive Strike now called Will to Live?
This is the single most common source of confusion in Survivor loadouts in 2026, and almost no tier list explains it. The HALLOWEEN Chapter was retracted from Dead by Daylight on January 19, 2026. It is no longer purchasable, and the Haddonfield realm and Lampkin Lane map left the game with it. Laurie Strode's three perks could not simply be deleted, so Patch 9.4.0 split them:
- If you own the original Chapter, you keep them as Laurie Strode perks, with the original names and flavour text.
- If you do not, the same three perks became General Perks available to every Survivor, under new names.
| Old name (Chapter owners) | New name (everyone else) | Perk type now |
|---|---|---|
| Decisive Strike | Will to Live | General Perk |
| Object of Obsession | Bound by Obsession | General Perk |
| Sole Survivor | Down to the Last | General Perk |
Will to Live activates for 40/50/60 seconds after you are unhooked. If the Killer grabs or picks you up in that window, you succeed a Skill Check to stab them and escape, stunning them for 4 seconds. You become the Obsession, and the perk deactivates on use, on a Conspicuous Action, or once the Exit Gates are powered.
The takeaway: the strongest anti-tunnel perk in the game is now free for everyone. If you never bought the Halloween Chapter and assumed Decisive Strike was gone, it is sitting in your Bloodweb under a different name.
Best Survivor perks in DBD: full tier list
| Tier | Perks |
|---|---|
| S | Windows of Opportunity, Will to Live (Decisive Strike), Off the Record, Adrenaline, Sprint Burst |
| A | Deja Vu, Prove Thyself, Resilience, Kindred, Unbreakable, Lithe, Background Player, Reassurance, Made for This |
| B | Bond, We'll Make It, Botany Knowledge, Resurgence, Boon: Circle of Healing, Distortion, Hyperfocus, Overcome, Repressed Alliance, Vigil, Wicked |
| C | Stake Out, Empathic Connection, Bound by Obsession, Down to the Last, Dead Hard |
One note before the arguments start. Dead Hard is C tier for the average player, not because it is weak in the right hands, but because its current form only activates after you have been unhooked, then grants Endurance for 0.5 seconds on the Active Ability button. That is a reaction-timing perk with a tiny window bolted onto a conditional trigger.
Why Windows of Opportunity is the best Survivor perk in the game
Windows of Opportunity reveals the Auras of Pallets, Windows and Breakable Walls within 24/28/32 metres. It has no cooldown, no token, no activation condition and no way to waste it.
Every other perk here is worth something in a specific moment. Windows is worth something in every second of every Trial, and it teaches map layouts while you play.
The anti-tunnel package: Off the Record and Will to Live
Off the Record activates for 30/35/40 seconds after any unhook and does four things at once: blocks your Aura from being read, suppresses your Grunts of Pain and Scratch Marks, and grants Endurance. A Conspicuous Action cancels the Endurance, and the perk switches off entirely once the Exit Gates are powered.
Run it alongside Will to Live and a Killer who tunnels you off hook has to eat a 4-second stun or spend the better part of a minute failing to find someone with no scratch marks and no aura. It is the biggest solo-queue survival upgrade available for two perk slots.
Best exhaustion perk in DBD 2026
| Perk | Effect | Exhaustion |
|---|---|---|
| Sprint Burst | +50% Haste for 2 seconds when you start running | 60/50/40s |
| Lithe | +50% Haste for 3 seconds after a Rushed Vault | 60/50/40s |
| Background Player | +50% Haste for 5 seconds after the Killer picks up another Survivor | 30/25/20s |
| Overcome | Extends the on-hit sprint by +2 seconds | 60/50/40s |
| Adrenaline | Heals one Health State, +50% Haste for 4 seconds, when Exit Gates power | 60/50/40s after use |
Sprint Burst wins because it is the only one that works before the chase starts. Overcome is better than its description reads: the base on-hit sprint lasts 1.8 seconds and applies a 1.65x movement multiplier, larger than the 1.5x most Exhaustion perks give you, so Overcome extends the faster sprint to 3.8 seconds.
Adrenaline deserves its own line. It can be used while Exhausted and ignores an existing Exhausted Status Effect, so it does not compete with anything else in this table. Run it next to Sprint Burst, not instead of it.
Which Generator perks actually speed up a match?
- Prove Thyself: +6/8/10% Repair speed per other Survivor within 4 metres, capped at 18/24/30%, extended to everyone in range. Only one instance applies at a time, so four Prove Thyselfs in a lobby is three wasted slots.
- Deja Vu: reveals the Auras of the 3 Generators currently closest to each other and adds 4/5/6% Repair speed on them. A three-gen prevention perk first, a speed perk second.
- Resilience: +3/6/9% to a long list of action speeds while Injured, including repairing, healing, vaulting Windows, unhooking, Totems, Chests and opening Exit Gates. It asks nothing but that you stay injured.
- Repressed Alliance: after 40/35/30 seconds of solo repair, the Active Ability button has the Entity block that Generator for 15 seconds. It only triggers when nobody else is on your Generator.
- Hyperfocus: each Great Skill Check while repairing or healing grants +1 Token, to a maximum of 6. Each Token adds +4% Skill Check trigger odds and pointer rotation speed, up to +24%, and increases Skill Check bonus progression by 10/20/30% of base per Token, up to 60/120/180%. One Good Skill Check, a failed one, or any interruption wipes every Token.
Hyperfocus is the most argued-about Survivor perk on the subreddit, and the community reads it accurately. One of the sharper takes in this week's thread on the perk put it plainly: it is "too strong in the hands of a really good survivor/team that can exploit it but useless for most players." That is why it is B tier here and S tier in a competitive Survivor's video. Pair it with Stake Out, which grants +1 Token every 15 seconds spent in the Terror Radius without being chased, up to 2/3/4 Tokens, and converts a Good Skill Check into a Great one for -1 Token. Without Stake Out or a Scavenger Toolbox, Hyperfocus is a coin flip.
Best healing perks in Dead by Daylight
| Perk | Effect |
|---|---|
| We'll Make It | +100% Altruistic Healing speed for 30/60/90 seconds after you unhook someone |
| Botany Knowledge | Permanent +30/40/50% Healing speed |
| Boon: Circle of Healing | +50/75/100% Altruistic Healing within 24 metres when not using a Med-Kit, and reveals injured Survivor Auras |
| Empathic Connection | Permanent +25/30/35% Altruistic Healing, and shows your Aura to injured Survivors |
| Resurgence | Grants 50/60/70% Healing progression after you are unhooked |
We'll Make It is the best of them by a distance, because the moment immediately after an unhook is the moment healing actually matters. It stacks with Resurgence into a near-instant heal at the hook.
Reassurance belongs here even though it heals nothing. Within 6 metres of a hooked Survivor, the Active Ability button pauses their Sacrifice Process for 20/25/30 seconds, once per Survivor per Hook Instance. Against a camping Killer it is worth more than any healing perk in the table.
Which information perks are worth a slot in solo queue?
Solo queue loses matches to information, not to skill. Three perks fix it cheaply.
Kindred is the best solo-queue perk ever made and it is free. Whenever any Survivor is hooked, it reveals every other Survivor's Aura to you, reveals all Auras to the hooked Survivor, and shows the Killer's Aura whenever they come within 8/12/16 metres of the Hook. It ends the two-people-walk-to-the-same-hook problem.
Bond reveals other Survivors' Auras within 20/28/36 metres with no condition at all.
Distortion starts you with 1 Token. Each Killer attempt to read your Aura consumes a Token and blocks the read for 8/10/12 seconds while suppressing your Scratch Marks. It recharges +1 Token every 15 seconds you are being chased and holds a maximum of 2 — the part people miss, because it means Distortion rewards taking chases, not hiding.
Four Survivor builds worth running in September 2026
The default solo-queue build. Windows of Opportunity, Sprint Burst, Off the Record, Will to Live. Chase tools plus a full anti-tunnel package. Run this if you are not sure what to run.
The gen-rush build. Prove Thyself, Deja Vu, Resilience, Adrenaline. Deja Vu keeps you off a three-gen, Prove Thyself pays out whenever two of you share a Generator, and Adrenaline turns the last Generator into a free health state plus a 4-second 50% Haste burst.
The altruism build. We'll Make It, Reassurance, Kindred, Unbreakable. Kindred tells you who is going for the save, Reassurance buys 30 seconds against a camper, and Unbreakable gives +25/30/35% recovery speed plus one self-recovery per Trial when the plan fails.
The chase build. Windows of Opportunity, Lithe, Made for This, Resilience. Made for This grants Endurance for 6/8/10 seconds after you finish healing another Survivor while injured, plus 1/2/3% Haste while running with Deep Wound.
Which Survivor perks are overrated right now?
Dead Hard. Its current form requires you to have been unhooked, then grants Endurance for 0.5 seconds on command. A genuinely skilful perk with a genuinely tiny payoff.
Bound by Obsession. It reveals the Killer's Aura whenever they read yours and adds 2/4/6% to Cleansing, Healing and Repairing, but it broadcasts your Aura to the Killer for 3 seconds every 30 seconds while you are the Obsession, and raises your chance of being the initial Obsession by +100%.
Down to the Last. The +75% Repair speed and +50% Gate and Hatch opening speed as last Survivor are real, and the token-based Aura immunity scales to 60/66/72 metres. It only pays out once your team is already dead.

FAQ
What are the best Survivor perks in DBD right now? Windows of Opportunity, Will to Live (Decisive Strike), Off the Record, Adrenaline and Sprint Burst are the five strongest on Patch 10.1.2. Windows of Opportunity is the best single perk because it has no cooldown, no token and no activation condition.
Where did Decisive Strike go? It is still in the game. After the HALLOWEEN Chapter was retracted on January 19, 2026, Patch 9.4.0 kept it as a Laurie Strode perk for Chapter owners and converted it into a General Perk called Will to Live for everyone else. Object of Obsession became Bound by Obsession and Sole Survivor became Down to the Last in the same change.
Did Patch 10.1.2 nerf any Survivor perks? No. It changed no Survivor perk values. It fixed Vigil, which was incorrectly affecting status effects beyond Exhausted, and corrected Nowhere to Hide's description and aura reveal range on the Killer side.
Is Hyperfocus actually good? It is the highest-ceiling repair perk in the game and close to useless on its own. Each Great Skill Check gives a Token up to 6, and one Good Skill Check or interruption wipes all of them. Run it with Stake Out or leave it in the Bloodweb.
What is the best Exhaustion perk for a new player? Lithe. It triggers on a Rushed Vault, an action you are already performing in a chase, and gives +50% Haste for 3 seconds. Sprint Burst is stronger but punishes you for running anywhere without thinking.
Do I need to prestige a Survivor to use their perks on everyone? Yes. Prestige 1, 2 and 3 unlock Tier I, II and III of that character's unique perks for every other Survivor. General Perks like Kindred, Deja Vu, Resilience and the three renamed Laurie Strode perks are available without prestiging.
