The Dead by Daylight Halloween event 2026 is live right now. Haunted by Daylight opened on 13 October 2026 and is scheduled to run until 3 November 2026, per the official Dead by Daylight Wiki event page, with the start date printed on Behaviour's own "New Release" card in its 1 October October of Horror trailer. That gives you 21 days of event Trials, the same length as the 2024 and 2025 editions.
This page was rewritten on 17 October 2026, day five of the event, on live Patch 10.2.1 (bugfix, released 14 October on top of 10.2.0, which went live 6 October per the official Steam patch notes). It replaces our pre-event version from 30 September, which correctly said no dates existed at the time.
Quick answer. Haunted by Daylight 2026 runs 13 October to 3 November 2026. The separate Void Realm is gone: Void Energy now opens Void Rifts into teleporting Void Portals on the normal map. Event currency is Dark Trinkets, the free outfits are Shane Wiigwaas pieces plus The Hillbilly's Sugar Rush set, and Behaviour's log-in graphic promises 1,050,000 Bloodpoints across the event. The Diablo Collection lands 20 October and the Terrifier chapter is dated only "November 2026".
- Dates: 13 October to 3 November 2026 (no end time published).
- Patch: live 10.2.1. No separate event patch.
- Codes live now: MACHETE (Behaviour says redeem before 31 October) and GROUNDCHUCKHBD (reported to end 31 October).
- Next beats: Diablo Collection 20 October, Terrifier chapter in November.
When is the DBD Halloween event 2026, and when does it end?
The window is 13 October to 3 November 2026. The wiki's wording is "scheduled to last from 13 October to 3 November 2026". Behaviour has not published an end time, so don't plan a last-minute grind for the final evening of 3 November.
Here is how 2026 compares with every Halloween event since 2017:
| Event | Start | End | Length |
|---|---|---|---|
| All Hallows' Eve | 26 Oct 2017 | 1 Nov 2017 | 7 days |
| The Hallowed Blight | 19 Oct 2018 | 2 Nov 2018 | 14 days |
| The Withering Blight | 30 Oct 2019 | 10 Nov 2019 | 11 days |
| The Eternal Blight | 21 Oct 2020 | 4 Nov 2020 | 14 days |
| The Midnight Grove | 21 Oct 2021 | 11 Nov 2021 | 21 days |
| Haunted by Daylight 2022 | 13 Oct 2022 | 3 Nov 2022 | 21 days |
| Haunted by Daylight 2023 | 18 Oct 2023 | 6 Nov 2023 | 19 days |
| Haunted by Daylight 2024 | 17 Oct 2024 | 7 Nov 2024 | 21 days |
| Haunted by Daylight 2025 | 14 Oct 2025 | 4 Nov 2025 | 21 days |
| Haunted by Daylight 2026 | 13 Oct 2026 | 3 Nov 2026 | 21 days |
2026 is the fifth Haunted by Daylight. It also matches the 2022 calendar exactly. In September, several trackers were printing "18 October to 6 November 2026", which was really the 2023 calendar with the year changed. That was wrong.
What changed in Haunted by Daylight 2026?
The big change is that there is no Void Realm to enter this year. Void Energy, Void Rifts, Haunts and Void Crystals are all still there, but on the normal map. An opened Rift becomes a Void Portal that teleports you across the Trial you're already in. Behaviour gave its reasoning at the October of Horror broadcast, as quoted by GamesRadar:
"there is no Void dimension, so there'll be no disappearing into portals and running around the extra location, which feedback showed left players feeling like gameplay was a little disjointed."
Behaviour's own "Everything you need to know about Haunted by Daylight" graphic splits the loop into four parts:
- Void Energy. Killers earn it by smashing pumpkins, downing Survivors, hooking Survivors and hitting Void Haunts. Survivors earn it by smashing pumpkins, repairing Generators, channelling from Void Portals and stunning or blinding the Killer.
- Void Portals. Once opened, anyone can use them to teleport. Survivors can also channel Portals for energy. The warning on the graphic is the part new players miss: "Beware! Killers can teleport to nearby channeling Survivors."
- Void Haunts. They patrol and dash at nearby Survivors, causing Hindered.
- Void Energy abilities. Every Survivor starts the Trial with a Void Crystal and spends Void Energy through it to drop a Void Bomb or remotely repair a Generator. Killers get Captured Haunts, which either launch a projectile or speed up a break action.
There is no crafting step this year. Behaviour's 10.2.1 notes say "Players no longer need to craft in the Void to gain Event Abilities", and "Survivors start with Void Crystals". Per the wiki, both sides hold up to 8 Void Energy: a Void Bomb, a Captured Haunt shot, a faster break or a Portal ambush costs 4, and a remote repair costs 8. Placed on a Generator that isn't regressing, the Crystal repairs at 0.8% per second for up to 30 seconds (24% of a Generator) while manual repair is disabled, and the Killer can destroy it by damaging that Generator. We go through Portal routing and energy budgets in our Void Energy and Portals guide.
Do Void Crystals really ignore Ruin and gen blocks?
This was this week's biggest argument on the Killer subreddit. A thread titled "Automatic Gen repair Bypasses Ruin" got 29 comments in a day. Players report that a Generator under a Void Crystal keeps repairing through gen blocks such as Dead Man's Switch and No Holds Barred, and that it can't be kicked into regression under Hex: Ruin.
Here's what is actually confirmed. Behaviour's 10.2.1 notes describe the Crystal only as "place the crystal on the Generator to repair it remotely", and the official graphic adds "Remember: Killers can stop this". Behaviour has not said whether gen-block perks apply, and a few players in the same threads report different results. Our advice: if you're playing Killer, damage the Generator to break the Crystal instead of counting on a block perk to hold it. We'll update this section if Behaviour comments.
What rewards does Haunted by Daylight 2026 give?
The currency is Dark Trinkets, a temporary event currency. They don't go into your wallet like Iridescent Shards or Auric Cells. You get them from event quests and from log-in rewards: a one-time gift of 100 plus daily Trinkets, 700 across the whole log-in track per Behaviour's graphic.
- Free outfits from quests. Completing quests climbs a ladder: 4 quests unlock Shane's Tattered Tracksuit, 6 add Local Legend (The Hillbilly) and Striped Shamblers (Shane), 8 add Sweet Justice, and 12 finish both sets with Pigging Out and Braaaaains. Both outfits are complete at 12 quests. The 16-quest tier is the Ascended banner Fields Run Red.
- Currency shop. Behaviour's Rewards Recap shows 12 Dark Trinket unlocks: three Killer masks (The Trapper, The Unknown, The Singularity), three Survivor skeleton shirts (Adam, Jeff, Sable), three badges, one charm and two banners. Prices have only been published for five of them, all at 100 Dark Trinkets.
- Quests unlock over time. Only 9 quests have been documented so far (1 Community + 8 Milestone), but the ladder pays out up to 16, so more quests are coming. Don't treat the first batch as the whole event.
- Paid outfits. Nea's "Panic At Prenn" and Ace's "Sexy Beast" cost 1,080 Auric Cells each for the full outfit, or 400 per piece.
The full cosmetic-by-cosmetic list, with every quest objective, is on our Haunted by Daylight rewards and Dark Trinkets page.
How many Bloodpoints does the Halloween event give?
Your sources will disagree here, so here are both versions. Behaviour's official log-in graphic says "Every day: earn 50K Bloodpoints". Its footer totals the track at 700 Dark Trinkets, 2,000 Iridescent Shards and 1,050,000 Bloodpoints, which works out to 21 daily claims. The wiki's text says each day pays "either 25,000 or 50,000 Bloodpoints". We go with Behaviour's graphic. Rewards renew at 15:00 UTC and you claim them from the main-menu inbox.
The other Bloodpoint lever is the Arcane Dousing Rod offering. The wiki says it increases Bloodpoints from event score events by +100%, but it only works in the event queue. Log in every day either way. Our Bloodpoints cap guide covers how to farm without hitting the cap.
Are there Halloween codes for Dead by Daylight right now?
Yes, two. Both expire before the event ends:
| Code | Reward | Source | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| MACHETE | Slasher's Machete Charm | Official Dead by Daylight X account, 4 Oct 2026 | Behaviour says "before October 31st" |
| GROUNDCHUCKHBD | Ground Chuck Charm | Behaviour email newsletter, tracked by several code sites | Reported to end 31 Oct |
Behaviour's own post read: "Enter the code MACHETE in the in-game Store before October 31st to redeem this Charm." Neither code gives Bloodpoints. For the full verified list, including expired codes and the dates they died, see our DBD codes page and the Bloodpoint codes tracker.
Is there a quest-tracking bug in the Halloween event?
Players are reporting one, but Behaviour hasn't confirmed it. Within 12 hours of launch, three separate threads said the "Hook 20 Survivors" milestone wasn't counting. One Dredge player logged 18 hooks across two Trials with zero credit, and Nurse and Ghost Face players said the same. Neither the 10.2.0 nor the 10.2.1 patch notes mention it, and nobody has found a working fix. If your hooks aren't counting, try the other Killer-side milestones first, such as Collect 100 Void Energy from downs, Shatter 5 Void Crystals or Open 3 Portals, and come back to hooks later.
What else is on the DBD October 2026 roadmap?
Haunted by Daylight is week three of a six-week schedule Behaviour showed at the October of Horror broadcast. Here's where each piece stands on 17 October:
| Content | Date | Status | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hallowed Blight Collection (Jason, Houndmaster, Knight) | 1 Oct | Live | Behaviour trailer date card |
| Academia Rift | 6 Oct | Live | Behaviour trailer date card |
| NieR:Automata Collection | 6 Oct | Live | Behaviour news, 6 Oct |
| Haunted by Daylight 2026 | 13 Oct to 3 Nov | Live | Behaviour trailer + official wiki |
| Diablo Collection | 20 Oct | Upcoming | Official wiki |
| November Days Collection (Ghost Face) | Late Oct | No Behaviour date | Broadcast schedule |
| Terrifier chapter (Art the Clown) | November 2026 | No exact date | Behaviour title card |
The Diablo Collection is cosmetics only. It covers The Artist, The Dredge, The Nurse, David, Taurie and Zarina, led by a Lilith outfit for The Artist, and the wiki lists it as releasing 20 October 2026. The Halloween sale runs in the Store during the event. DBDVault lists it starting 19 October, but Behaviour hasn't posted a sale date itself, so check the in-game Store before you buy.
The Terrifier chapter is not part of the Halloween event. Behaviour's own title card says only "Coming November 2026". The "17 November" date and the "27 October PTB" you'll see online come from leak accounts and a GamesRadar estimate based on the usual three-month patch cycle. The official wiki also lists 17 November, but Behaviour hasn't confirmed it. We cover what has been shown so far in our Art the Clown first look.
The Scooby-Doo collection is still set for December 2026, confirmed by Warner Bros. Discovery's Scoobtober press release of 30 September.
How should you play the rest of the event?
- Log in every day before 3 November. The daily reward is the biggest guaranteed Bloodpoint source in the event, and the 1,050,000 total assumes one claim per day.
- Get to 12 quests first. That finishes both free outfits. The 16-quest tier only adds a banner.
- Queue event Trials with the Dousing Rod. The +100% bonus only applies to event score events in the event queue.
- As Survivor, don't channel a Portal next to the Killer. The Killer can teleport to nearby channelling Survivors.
- As Killer, break Crystals instead of trusting gen blocks. Damaging the Generator destroys the Crystal. Behaviour hasn't confirmed whether block perks stop it.
- Redeem both codes before 31 October. They expire before the event does.
- Re-check your build for 10.2.0. The 10.2.0 perk pass changed a lot of the standard picks. Start with our killer perk tier list and the killer tier list.

FAQ
When does the DBD Halloween event 2026 end? Haunted by Daylight 2026 is scheduled to end on 3 November 2026, after starting on 13 October. Behaviour has not published an end time of day, so finish your quests and log-in claims before the last day.
Is there a Void Realm in Haunted by Daylight 2026? No. 2026 removes the separate Void dimension. Void Energy, Haunts and Void Crystals stay on the normal map, and an opened Void Rift becomes a Void Portal that teleports you within the same Trial.
What are Dark Trinkets in DBD? Dark Trinkets are Haunted by Daylight's temporary event currency. You get them from event quests and log-in rewards (a one-time 100-Trinket gift plus daily Trinkets), and you spend them on the 12 event cosmetics in the currency shop. Behaviour has not said this year whether leftover Dark Trinkets convert to Bloodpoints.
How many Bloodpoints can you get from the Halloween event? Behaviour's official log-in graphic totals 1,050,000 Bloodpoints across 21 daily claims at 50,000 each, plus 2,000 Iridescent Shards and 700 Dark Trinkets. The wiki says each day pays 25,000 or 50,000, so treat 1,050,000 as the maximum.
Is the Terrifier chapter part of the Halloween event? No. Art the Clown's chapter is a separate November 2026 release. Behaviour's title card gives only the month. The 17 November date going around comes from leaks and estimates, not from a Behaviour announcement.
When is the DBD Halloween sale 2026? The in-game Halloween sale runs during Haunted by Daylight. Trackers list it from 19 October, but Behaviour has not posted the sale dates itself, so check the in-game Store.
