The Dead by Daylight NieR: Automata collab is not a rumour any more. Behaviour Interactive released the NieR:Automata Collection on 6 October 2026, alongside the 10.2.0 Mid-Chapter update, and it is a cosmetic Collection, not a Chapter: three outfits on characters you already own, no new Killer, no new Survivor and no new perks.

This page first went up on 3 October, when all anyone had was a teaser, and that version said the crossover was unconfirmed and probably not an October release. The second half of that was wrong, so this is the rewrite. Everything below applies to the live build, Patch 10.2.1 of 14 October 2026, and to the in-game Store as read on 18 to 20 October.

Quick answer. 2B is a Legendary outfit for Feng Min (1,485 Auric Cells), A2 is a Legendary outfit for Yui Kimura (1,485), and Emil is a Very Rare outfit for The Legion called Emil's Purpose (1,080). All three are 3-piece linked sets, 4,050 Auric Cells for the lot. Behaviour has promised to adjust 2B's model to look more like the original character, but as of 20 October no patch has shipped that change.

Is the Dead by Daylight NieR: Automata collab out now?

Yes. Behaviour's own announcement, published on deadbydaylight.com on 6 October 2026, closes with one line that settles it: "The NieR:Automata Collection will be available in Dead by Daylight on October 6, 2026."

The same day, Behaviour shipped the 10.2.0 Mid-Chapter patch, and fan databases that read the game files list all three outfits as added in version 10.2.0, released 6 October 2026. The Collection has been purchasable in the in-game Store for two weeks.

Three facts the teaser did not tell anyone, and which matter if you are deciding whether to buy:

  • It is cosmetics only. Nothing in the Collection changes perks, powers or Bloodweb progression. 2B plays exactly like Feng Min, because she is Feng Min.
  • It is two Survivors and one Killer, not the four Survivors our original read of the teaser expected. The Legion got the Killer slot.
  • It is a launch with no end date. Behaviour has not announced a removal date for any part of the Collection.

What is in the NieR:Automata Collection?

Behaviour's announcement lists five things: two Legendary Survivor outfits, one Very Rare Killer outfit, a "special appearance by Pod 042", and "two Legendary portraits of 2B and A2". The table below adds what the game data shows for each outfit.

OutfitCharacterRarityPiecesStore price
2BFeng MinLegendaryDark Blindfold, Black Box Heart, Fateful Path1,485 Auric Cells
A2Yui KimuraLegendaryClear Sight, Heart Reactor, Path Breaker1,485 Auric Cells
Emil's PurposeThe LegionVery RareNew Face, Found Family, Hard Choices1,080 Auric Cells

Every outfit is a linked set: the three pieces cannot be worn or bought separately. Prices come from the dbd.source.gs Store data (read 18 October) and the itemshop.gg tracker built on it (20 October), and they match a reviewer's own store screenshot of 2B at 1,485. No Iridescent Shard price is listed for any of the three, which is normal for licensed Legendaries.

Pod 042 is mentioned by Behaviour without a type or a price. Some coverage calls it a charm; Behaviour's own text does not say so, and we could not confirm a separate Store listing for it, so check the item description in your own Store before you assume it comes with anything.

What does the 2B outfit include?

Official Dead by Daylight store render of Feng Min wearing the Legendary 2B outfit with blindfold and black dress

2B is the headline item and the reason most people searched this. Behaviour describes both Legendaries the same way: "Alongside their new models, these Outfits feature unique music, voice lines, HUD icons, menu idle animations, and more."

In practice that means 2B replaces Feng Min's look, voice and lobby presence completely. She does not replace Feng Min in the character list. You still select Feng Min, you still level Feng Min's Bloodweb, and you still run Feng Min's teachable perks or anything else you have unlocked. If you never play Feng Min, buying 2B means playing her from now on.

That last point is the most common surprise in player threads. One player on the official forums asked Behaviour to let Legendary outfits replace the portrait on the character-select screen, writing: "I will basically never play Feng Min, but I will absolutely be playing a lot of 2B." Behaviour has not responded to that request.

What do A2 and Emil include?

A2 is the same Legendary package on Yui Kimura: new model, music, voice lines, HUD icons and menu idle animation. In both the forum threads and the coverage we read, A2 drew noticeably less criticism than 2B. Several players argued that 2B should have been built from the A2 model instead.

Emil's Purpose is the Killer half. Behaviour calls it "a Very Rare Outfit inspired by Emil, bringing his unique appearance—and unsettling grin—into The Trials". Because it is Very Rare and not Legendary, do not expect the extra voice lines, music or lobby animation that 2B and A2 get. It is a full 3-piece Legion outfit and nothing more. If you are picking up The Legion for the first time because of it, our Legion guide covers how Feral Frenzy actually plays.

How much does the full NieR Collection cost?

The store prices add up to 4,050 Auric Cells. Auric Cells are the paid currency: outside the Rift Premium Track's 1,000-cell refund they can only be bought, so the real question is how many dollars that is. Using the six standard US pack prices from our Auric Cells pack guide:

What you buyCells neededCheapest pack mixUSDCells left over
Emil's Purpose only1,080one 1,100 pack$9.9920
2B or A2 only1,485three 500 packs$14.9715
2B and A22,970six 500 packs$29.9430
All three4,050one 1,100 + six 500$39.9350

The trap is the 4,025 pack at $34.99. It looks built for this Collection and it is 25 cells short. Every efficient mix that covers 4,050 lands between $39.93 and $39.98, so the full set costs about $40 unless you buy a bigger pack such as the 6,000 at $49.99. These are US prices with zero cells already in the wallet. Regional prices differ, and any cells you already hold change the maths. The NieR outfits are also not part of the 30% outfit sale that Store trackers list until 3 November: all three show at full price.

No discounted NieR bundle appears in the Store listings we checked; each outfit is sold on its own. One Store tracker lists 2B, A2 and Emil's Purpose among the items leaving the Store's Featured row at the 20 October rotation. Featured rotation changes what is promoted on the front page and is not a delisting, and Behaviour has announced no removal date for the Collection.

Is Behaviour fixing the 2B outfit?

Yes, and this is the part of the story that has moved since launch.

Criticism of 2B started on launch night. The official forum's "Why 2B looks like a man?" and "Fix 2B skin" threads both opened on 6 October, and the complaints were specific: the face, especially the lower half, broader puffed shoulders, a longer and bulkier dress, and hair shorter than the original's. One forum reply summed up the mood: "Her proportions and face are very off."

On 9 October 2026, Community Manager Mandy answered in the "Fix 2B skin" thread on the official forums:

"For 2B we will be making some adjustments to this Legendary for Feng Min to bring it closer to the original appearance of the character - I don't have an ETA but I would expect some updates in the 2nd bugfix patch (but don't quote me on that last part!)."

Where that stands on 20 October:

  • The fix has not shipped. The 10.2.1 Bugfix Patch went live on 14 October 2026 and its patch notes do not mention 2B, Feng Min or any outfit change.
  • "The 2nd bugfix patch" is still pending. No 10.2.2 notes have been posted on Behaviour's forum or Steam news as of this update.
  • Only 2B is covered. Mandy's statement names 2B. Behaviour has said nothing about changing A2, and a forum thread from 17 October claiming "2B & A2 got fixed" is wrong. Another player corrected it in the same thread two days later.
  • No details on what changes. Behaviour has said "closer to the original appearance", not which parts of the model.

Behaviour has published nothing about refunds or about how owners receive the change. Because it is described as an adjustment to the existing Legendary rather than a new item, owners would expect the revised model to replace the old one, but Behaviour has not said so explicitly. If you are on the fence, the cautious option is to wait for the patch and judge the new model yourself.

Why is it a Collection and not a Chapter?

Behaviour has two ways of bringing in a licence. A Chapter adds a new playable Killer, usually a Survivor and perks. A Collection puts licensed outfits on characters already in the game. NieR: Automata got the second treatment, and the format follows the closest precedent, The Witcher Collection of June 2025.

Official Dead by Daylight store render of Vittorio Toscano wearing the Legendary Geralt of Rivia outfit from The Witcher Collection

The Witcher set had two Legendaries: Geralt of Rivia on Vittorio Toscano, with new voice lines recorded by Doug Cockle, and The Leshen on The Artist, with unique sounds and lobby animations. Its other four outfits were Very Rare. NieR uses the same format on a smaller roster, with one difference: both NieR Legendaries are Survivors, and the Killer side only gets a Very Rare outfit. If you main Killer, Emil's Purpose is a reskin, not a Leshen-style character replacement.

The practical takeaway: a Collection gives you nothing to unlock in the Bloodweb and no perks for your builds. If you were hoping for 2B's moveset or a NieR perk, that was never on the table.

Can the NieR Collection leave the store?

It can, and nobody can tell you when. Licensed Collections are not guaranteed to stay forever. The Attack on Titan Collection was removed from the Store on 18 July 2023, after about four weeks' notice. Players who already owned those outfits kept them. Removal stopped new purchases; it did not take anything back. That Collection later came back to the Store in April 2026 alongside the Attack on Titan edition of 2v8, so removal is not always permanent either.

For NieR, Behaviour has announced no end date. Do not panic-buy because of the Featured rotation, and if you want the set, buying it while it is listed is safer than assuming it will be there in a year.

What else is live in Dead by Daylight right now?

The Collection launched in the middle of Behaviour's October of Horror schedule, so it is competing for your Auric Cells with the Haunted by Daylight event, which is scheduled to run until 3 November. Our Haunted by Daylight 2026 guide tracks the event's dates and rewards. If you want free cosmetics before spending, the working list is in our October 2026 codes post.

The next licensed release follows immediately: the Diablo Collection is scheduled for today, 20 October, the fourth week of Behaviour's October schedule; Behaviour's teaser on 19 October read "Welcome to Hell. Tomorrow." After that, the Terrifier Chapter with Art the Clown is dated only "November 2026", and we cover what is known in our Terrifier chapter first look.

FAQ

When did the NieR: Automata collab come out in Dead by Daylight? On 6 October 2026, the same day as the 10.2.0 Mid-Chapter update. Behaviour's announcement says "The NieR:Automata Collection will be available in Dead by Daylight on October 6, 2026."

Which characters get the NieR outfits? Feng Min gets 2B, Yui Kimura gets A2, and The Legion gets Emil's Purpose. 2B and A2 are Legendary outfits, and Emil is Very Rare.

How much is 2B in Dead by Daylight? 1,485 Auric Cells, the standard Legendary price. A2 is also 1,485 and Emil's Purpose is 1,080, so the whole Collection is 4,050 Auric Cells, about $40 in US pack prices.

Can you buy 2B with Iridescent Shards? No Shard price is listed for any of the three outfits. They are sold for Auric Cells, the paid premium currency.

Is 2B getting fixed? Behaviour said on 9 October that it will adjust the 2B Legendary to look closer to the original character, possibly in the second bugfix patch. As of 20 October that patch has not shipped, and the 10.2.1 notes of 14 October do not mention 2B.

Is A2 getting changed too? Behaviour has only promised changes to 2B. Forum claims that both outfits were already fixed are wrong.

Do the NieR outfits come with perks? No. It is a cosmetic Collection, not a Chapter, so there is no new character, perk, power or Bloodweb.

Is there a bundle for all three NieR outfits? No discounted NieR bundle appears in the Store listings we checked on 18 to 20 October. Each outfit is bought on its own.
