Quick Answer: In Season 15 (Patch 3.2.1), Belial, Lord of Lies is the Lair Boss with no fixed loot table — instead, opening Belial's Hoard with 1× Superior Lair Key lets you choose which Boss Ladder boss's loot pool drops, plus one guaranteed Ancestral Unique. Because 3.2.1 now locks each boss's Mythic pool to its own table, Belial is the game's cleanest target farm: pick the boss whose Mythic Unique you actually need, then roll for it. Find him at the Palace of the Deceiver in Kehjistan (Tarsarak Waypoint), Torment 1 or higher.
Season 15 — the Season of Hell's Legacy — is live as of September 15, 2026, and if you are farming Mythic Uniques, one boss matters more than any other this season: Belial, Lord of Lies. He is not a boss you fight for his drops — he is the boss you fight to farm someone else's drops on your terms. That single design quirk, combined with the Patch 3.2.1 loot changes, makes Belial the most efficient Mythic-farming stop in the endgame.
This guide covers how to unlock Belial, where to find him, how his Hoard works, every mechanic you need to survive, and exactly how to turn him into a repeatable target farm for the Mythic Unique you want.

Why Belial Is the Best Mythic Farm in Season 15
Every other Lair Boss drops from a fixed table. Belial does not. When you open Belial's Hoard, you get to modify the loot — the options available are each of the bosses from the Boss Ladder, and the Hoard then drops that boss's pool plus one guaranteed Ancestral Unique.
Patch 3.2.1 sharpened this into a genuine target farm. Straight from the notes:
"Mythic Uniques dropped by Initiate Lair Bosses and Greater Lair Bosses, as well as those selected from Belial's Hoard, will only include Mythic Uniques from that boss's Unique Item pool." — Diablo 4 Patch 3.2.1 notes
Before 3.2.1, a Mythic drop could roll from the global pool — you might chase Harlequin Crest and get handed something irrelevant. Now the Mythic you can pull from a chosen boss's pool is anchored to that boss's table. So Belial becomes: pick the boss whose Mythic you need → open his pool through the Hoard → roll for it. No other single encounter gives you that level of control.
Three 3.2.1 changes stack on top of this:
- Boss-specific Mythic pools (quoted above) — the core of the target-farm loop.
- Higher Mythic rates across the board — Initiate Lair Boss Mythic rates were raised to match Greater Lair Bosses, and random-source Mythic rates increased.
- Buffed drop rates in low Torment — Legendary and Unique drops now start from level one and scale through Torment 1–5, so you can begin the Belial loop earlier in the season.
How to Unlock and Reach Belial
Belial, Lord of Lies waits in the Palace of the Deceiver, a dungeon in the desert region of Kehjistan. You have two ways in:
- Quick travel: click the Palace of the Deceiver directly on the map to teleport in.
- On foot: use the Tarsarak Waypoint and travel there normally.
Requirements before you go:
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Difficulty | Torment 1 or higher |
| Boss Lair Key | 1× Superior Lair Key to open Belial's Hoard |
| Element to counter | Shadow and Poison (bring All Resistance) |
| Source (alt) | Ambush Encounter after clearing other Lair Bosses |
You do not need a special summon material to start the fight at the altar inside the dungeon — the key is what you spend to open the Hoard and actually receive the loot afterward. Bring a Superior Lair Key (the item veterans still call a Betrayer's Husk) every run, or you will kill Belial and walk away with nothing. Note that these keys only function in Torment difficulties.
How Belial's Hoard Works (The Target-Farm Loop)
This is the part that makes Belial unique. After the kill, you spend 1× Superior Lair Key to open the Hoard, and the Hoard quantity and quality scale with your Torment difficulty. Then:
- Choose the boss pool. The Hoard lets you select any boss from the Boss Ladder. That boss's Unique/Mythic table becomes the loot you roll on.
- Collect the guaranteed Ancestral Unique. Every Belial Hoard includes one guaranteed Ancestral Unique item on top of the pool drops.
- Roll for the Mythic. Because 3.2.1 ties the Mythic to the chosen boss's own pool, you have a real, targeted shot at the specific Mythic Unique tied to that encounter.
The efficient loop: decide which Mythic Unique your build needs → check which boss owns it → run Belial → point the Hoard at that boss's pool → repeat. You are effectively farming any endgame boss's Mythic through a single, consistent encounter. Use a boss loot cheat sheet to confirm which boss owns the Mythic you want before you commit a key.
There is also an Ambush version: on rare occasions Belial ambushes you after you defeat other Boss Lair encounters. This is a different, tougher encounter — but on defeat it drops a Superior Greater Lair Key, which feeds straight back into your farming supply.

Belial Boss Mechanics: How to Survive Every Attack
Belial deals Shadow and Poison damage, so stack All Resistance affixes before the run. Here are his most dangerous abilities and how to handle each:
Fist Slam
Belial slams his fist into the ground and sweeps it across the entire platform, dealing high damage and knocking players back. Watch the wind-up animation — it frequently overlaps with other deadly mechanics, so react early rather than tanking it.
Frontal Beam
He briefly prepares, then fires a frontal beam from one side of the platform to the other for devastating damage. Stand on the opposite side of where the beam originates, or teleport across it if your build can.
Poison Pools and Waves
Pools of Poison spawn under Belial's fists and under your character, dealing damage over time. The small pools under players despawn after detonating, but the permanent pools spawn Poisonous Waves that travel left and right. Plan your movement so you are already in a safe lane before a wave arrives.
Eyeball Void Zones
Belial spawns multiple eyeballs facing different directions. After a beat, any eyeball looking toward the platform creates a void zone in its line of sight, dealing heavy damage over time. Position yourself where the eyeballs are facing away from the platform — and be ready, because this overlaps with his other attacks for nasty combinations.
Survival checklist:
- Bring gear with All Resistance affixes to blunt his Shadow and Poison damage.
- Keep a defensive cooldown or movement skill ready for the beam and fist slam.
- Treat overlapping mechanics as the real threat — a single attack is survivable; two at once is what kills you.
Fastest Way to Farm Belial in Season 15
To make the Belial loop pay off, you need a steady supply of Superior Lair Keys and the survivability to clear him fast:
- Farm your key sources. Superior Lair Keys come from the Lair Boss system and endgame activities; the Ambush Belial specifically drops a Superior Greater Lair Key. Bank keys so you never arrive without one.
- Run at the highest Torment you can clear cleanly. The Hoard's quantity and quality scale with Torment, so push difficulty as high as your gear allows without slowing your clears.
- Target one Mythic at a time. Point the Hoard at a single boss pool until you get the drop you need, then re-target. Scattershot farming wastes keys.
- Gear resistances first. Every failed run costs you a key. Surviving reliably is faster than dealing more damage.
If you would rather skip the key grind and the gear check entirely, our team can run Belial and any Lair Boss carry for you, or power-level you to the Torment tier where the Hoard actually pays out.

FAQ
Where do I find Belial in Diablo 4 Season 15? Belial, Lord of Lies is in the Palace of the Deceiver, a dungeon in Kehjistan. Click the Palace directly on the map to quick travel, or use the Tarsarak Waypoint and travel there on foot. You need to be on Torment 1 or higher.
How do I open Belial's Hoard? After defeating Belial, spend 1× Superior Lair Key to open the Hoard. The Hoard's quantity and quality scale up with your Torment difficulty, so run him at the highest tier you can clear reliably.
Why is Belial different from other Lair Bosses? Belial has no fixed loot table. When you open his Hoard you get to choose which Boss Ladder boss's loot pool drops, plus one guaranteed Ancestral Unique. That makes him a target farm for any endgame boss's Mythic Unique.
What changed for Belial in Patch 3.2.1? Mythic Uniques selected from Belial's Hoard now only include Mythics from that chosen boss's own Unique Item pool, so the Mythic you can pull is anchored to the boss you pick. Mythic drop rates were also raised across Lair Bosses and random sources.
What element damage does Belial deal? Shadow and Poison. Stack All Resistance affixes on your gear to reduce his beam, poison pools and void-zone damage.
Can Belial ambush me outside the dungeon? Yes. On rare occasions Belial ambushes you after you defeat other Boss Lair encounters. It is a tougher, separate fight, but defeating him drops a Superior Greater Lair Key that feeds back into your farming.
