Quick answer: The Festival Playlist is Forza Horizon 6's rotating reward system: four one-week Seasons make one month-long Series, and events pay Playlist Points that unlock cars. From Series 7 "City Life" (November 5 to December 3, 2026) the point costs drop 25%: weekly cars now cost 15 and 30 points instead of 20 and 40, and the two Series cars cost 60 and 120 instead of 80 and 160. Earn 30 points a week and you unlock all 10 City Life reward cars. On recent event layouts, that target is now reachable without any online modes.

Forza Horizon 6's biggest grind just got smaller. The November 2 update cut the points needed for every Festival Playlist car, and it changes the maths of how you should spend your week. Under the old ladder, a typical week did not pay enough solo points for the second weekly car. Under the new one, it does.

This guide covers how the Playlist works, every City Life car and date, what the new costs mean in real events, and the fastest route for each kind of player. We keep this page updated each Series, so bookmark it instead of hunting for a new one every month. Car names, stats and dates come from the official City Life announcement and the Festival Playlist hub.

What is the Festival Playlist in Forza Horizon 6?

The Festival Playlist is a checklist of events and challenges that changes every week. Completing them earns Playlist Points, and points unlock rewards on two tracks at once.

TermWhat it means
SeriesA four-week theme. Series 7 is "City Life".
SeasonOne week of a Series, always Summer, Autumn, Winter, then Spring.
Season RewardsTwo cars per week, earned from that week's points.
Series RewardsTwo cars earned from your running total across all four weeks.
Playlist History RewardsCars tied to lifetime points, with no weekly deadline.

New Seasons start on Thursday at 2:30 PM UTC. Beyond cars, the Playlist pays credits, Wheelspins, Super Wheelspins, car horns, outfits and emotes.

Every point counts twice: once toward the current week and once toward the Series total. That is why the numbers line up so neatly. Four weeks at 30 points is 120, which is exactly the top Series reward.

How much cheaper are Playlist cars from Series 7?

Exactly 25% across the whole ladder. Forza explained the change in the announcement:

"Starting with the City Life series, the number of Festival Playlist PTS required to unlock new cars has been reduced. We've made this change based on community feedback, with the intent of making new cars easier to earn for all players, including those without access to the game's online content." — forza.net, Series 7 announcement

Reward slotSeries 2 to 6Series 7 onward
Season Reward 120 pts15 pts
Season Reward 240 pts30 pts
Series Reward 180 pts60 pts
Series Reward 2160 pts120 pts

The Playlist hub shows this is a return to launch pricing rather than a new low. Series 1 used the same 15, 30, 60 and 120 ladder, and Series 2 raised it. Your total needed for all ten cars falls from 160 points to 120.

Can you finish the Festival Playlist offline now?

Yes, on current numbers, and this is the part most patch summaries skip. We added up the Series 6 Spring breakdown, the most recent full week, by what needs online play:

Event typePointsNeeds online?
Daily Challenges (7 at 1 pt)7No
Weekly Challenge5No

PR Stunts and Drift Attack7No
Treasure Hunt3No

The Trial10Yes
Horizon Stunt Party3Yes
Horizon Play Racing3Yes
Hide & Seek2Yes
Week total52

A solo week topped out around 34 points. That fell short of the old 40-point car, and four solo weeks made 136 against a 160-point target. One offline player said as much on r/ForzaHorizon when the change landed: without online access, the second car had been out of reach.

Now 34 clears the 30-point car with 4 to spare, and 136 clears the 120-point Series car. Monthly Rivals adds another 4 points once per Series. City Life's own event list arrives on November 5, so treat these as Series 6 figures. Event values have been steady, but the exact mix changes each week.

What are all the Series 7 City Life reward cars?

City Life has 10 reward cars, including three that are new to Horizon: the Honda S660 Alpha, Citroën Ami and Fiat Panda. The S660 and Ami also get body kit upgrades.

Season dates follow the weekly Thursday reset. Car and point data comes from the Series 7 release notes and the official car list.

Which ones are worth prioritising? For driving, the Biposto is the pick: it is the only B-class car here, and it just gained a 1.6L engine swap option. The S660 is the touge toy, a mid-engine RWD kei car that sits right at the top of D class at 393 PI. Most of the rest are collector cars, and the 8 hp Ami is a joke you will still want in your garage.

What is the fastest way to earn Playlist Points?

Pick the route that matches what you want. Point values below use the Series 6 pattern.

For the 15-point weekly car (one sitting):

  • Weekly Challenge: 5 points
  • Treasure Hunt: 3 points
  • Photo Challenge: 2 points
  • One Seasonal Championship: 5 points

That is 15 points with no online play and no daily logins.

For the 30-point car, solo:

  • Everything above: 15 points
  • The second Seasonal Championship: 5 points
  • All PR Stunts and Drift Attack: 7 points
  • Three Daily Challenges: 3 points

Dailies are the easiest points in the game, but only if you are there on the day. Log in often enough to bank three of them.

For the 30-point car with online play:

  • The Trial: 10 points
  • Both Seasonal Championships: 10 points
  • Weekly Challenge: 5 points
  • Treasure Hunt: 3 points
  • Photo Challenge: 2 points

Hit 30 points every week and both Series cars unlock on their own. A short week is recoverable for the Series cars, since extra points in another week still count toward the 120. The two weekly cars are not: they only count that week's points.

Three changes in this update also matter here. Solo Seasonal Championships now use your chosen difficulty, so turn it down if a restricted car class is costing you time. Co-op Seasonal Championships went the other way and got harder. And the new Festival Playlist filter in the Garage and Autoshow shows which cars qualify for active restrictions before you buy or drive one.

What else is new in City Life?

  • Two permanent Tokyo City races: Edo Circuit Road Race and Shuto Charge Street Race, live since November 2.
  • Week 2 Photo Challenge: unlocks the Master Chief Outfit, part of the 25 Years of Xbox and Halo celebration.
  • Gashapon Machine Collectibles: find 15 at Daikoku in Week 2 for the Halo Shield Recharge Car Horn.
  • Free GR GT Prototype livery: sent to all players through the Message Center.
  • Edamame Time Attack Circuit: back at the Horizon Stadium for this Series. See our Time Attack circuits guide.
  • Cosmetics: the Tower Power Badge for playing during City Life, the RingRing emote, and three car horns from the Playlist.
  • IKEA Prop Pack: 35 props for Custom Garages.

Four Car Pass cars also land weekly: the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD (November 5), Volkswagen Electric Buzz (November 12), 1983 Nissan 240RS (November 19) and 2025 Porsche Macan GTS (November 26). These go only to Car Pass, Deluxe and Premium owners, separate from Playlist rewards.

One more thing for stunt hunters: all PR Stunt leaderboards were wiped after exploit fixes. Your Collection Journal unlocks stay intact, but your scores are gone, so our Danger Signs guide is worth a look if you want a clean run at the board.

Can you still get a Playlist car you missed?

Yes, and missing a week is less serious than older guides suggest. Five of the ten City Life cars have appeared in the Playlist before:

CarEarlier Playlist appearance
Toyota Starlet Glanza VSeries 1 Spring
Toyota Corolla SR5Series 1 Spring
Volkswagen Rallye GolfSeries 2 Summer
Honda N600Series 4
Abarth 695 BipostoSeries 1 Autumn Championship, Series 4 Autumn

There is no published schedule for returns, so you cannot plan around one specific car. Your other route is the Auction House, where other players list reward cars they have already earned. Prices are set by sellers and bidders, so rare cars can cost far more than their Autoshow-class peers.

Series 7's update also repays two old bugs. Players who logged in but could not finish the seventh Daily Challenge in Series 6 Summer, or part three of the Series 5 Spring Weekly Challenge, get those points retroactively. For the Series 5 points, open the Playlist History tab to claim them.

What are Playlist History Rewards?

Playlist History Rewards use lifetime points across all Series, so a missed week never locks you out. Forza describes them as exclusive cars "unlocked based on the lifetime Playlist Points that you have obtained from playing the game" (Series 2 announcement).

The two published so far are the 1972 Mazda Cosmo 110S Series II at 500 points and the 1973 Lamborghini Espada 400 GT at 1,100 points. No new History car has been announced for City Life. The thresholds are lifetime totals, so everything you earn this month counts toward whatever comes next.

Should you grind the Playlist or skip it?

Grind it if you enjoy the events. The cheaper ladder means about 30 points a week now clears everything, and Forza has more coming: Horizon Holidays in December, and the first expansion on January 21.

If your limit is time or credits, the Playlist is still where garage gaps show up. Credits do not buy exclusive reward cars from the Autoshow, but they do let you buy qualifying cars for each week's restrictions, and they are how you bid on missed cars at auction. Our fastest credit methods guide covers the free routes.

FAQ

When does Forza Horizon 6 Series 7 start and end? The City Life Festival Playlist starts on November 5, 2026 at 2:30 PM UTC and runs to December 3. The update itself went live on November 2 at 6:00 PM UTC, so the two new Tokyo races are already playable.

How many points do you need for all the City Life cars? You need 30 points in each of the four weeks, which is 120 in total. That unlocks all eight Season Rewards plus the 60-point Honda S660 Alpha and the 120-point Honda N600.

Do Festival Playlist points reset every week? Weekly progress resets with each Season, but the same points keep counting toward the Series total until the Series ends. Lifetime points for Playlist History Rewards never reset.

Can you do the Festival Playlist without Xbox Game Pass or online play? Yes. Based on the Series 6 Spring layout, solo events pay about 34 points a week, which is enough for the 30-point car and, across four weeks, the 120-point Series car.

How many points is The Trial worth? The Trial has been worth 10 points, the largest single event of the week. It runs online as a team against Unbeatable Drivatars, and it also pays a reward car.

Why did Forza lower the Playlist points? Forza said the change followed community feedback and is meant to make new cars easier to earn for all players, including those without access to online content.
