If you're searching for the Soul Guitar in Blox Fruits, you're looking for the right weapon under an old name. The developers revamped its model and renamed it the Skull Guitar in Update 24, so the in-game item, the craft menu and most current guides use the new name. Everything else about the chase is the same: a Lv. 2300 puzzle at the Haunted Castle that only starts under a full moon, then a material craft at a hidden NPC.
The item's own description sets the tone: "A spooky guitar-like weapon, with the power to control the underworld." Per the wiki, it's the only Mythical gun in the game, and it calls it "the most popular by far" for PvP.

Is the Soul Guitar the same as the Skull Guitar?
Yes. The wiki's change history says it plainly: in Update 24, "The Soul Guitar's model was revamped and renamed to Skull Guitar." Searching the craft menu or a trade server for "Soul Guitar" finds nothing, which is why returning players often think it was removed.

You need the level, the right sea and a full moon. Materials only matter at the very end, but farming them first saves a second trip.

How do you start the Soul Guitar puzzle?
Go to the Gravestone in the Haunted Castle graveyard at night during a full moon and choose Pray. The screen goes black for a second, the candles light up and the puzzle begins. If you're eligible, the Gravestone answers "Your prayers have been answered," then asks "Would you like to play a game?" If you're under the level gate, it says "Oh. You're too weak. Nevermind. Come back when you're stronger."
How to catch a full moon. The Full Moon page puts one every eight in-game nights, about 180 minutes, with the first one about 54 to 55 minutes after a server is created. The chat announces it with "The light of a full moon peaks through the clouds." Three ways to find one:
- Fresh private server. The first full moon lands about 55 minutes after the server starts. Shut it down and restart after each one to get a full moon every 55 minutes.
- Server hop for the phase before it. Look for a Waxing Gibbous moon at night. Per the wiki's day and night cycle page, it's the phase right before the full moon, and day and night flip every 10 to 12 minutes. A Waning Gibbous comes right after a full moon, so skip those servers.
- Ask in chat on a public server, or fly high until the islands disappear and check the moon yourself.
Don't waste the night. The Gravestone only accepts one interaction per night. You can't "Try luck" and "Pray" on the same night, and an early click gets "Nothing happened, maybe you should come back later?" Pray first.
Good news after the start: once the puzzle has begun, you can continue whether it's day or night and whether the full moon is still up. Server hopping doesn't reset it either. The wiki's tip is to pray on a public server, then hop into a private server for the zombie step.
Step 1: How do you kill 6 Living Zombies at once?
You have to kill all six Living Zombies with the same attack, at the same time. They're Lv. 2000 enemies with 18,800 HP, they spawn in the forest to the right of the Haunted Castle and they use Superhuman M1s plus Flash Step, so they hit hard.
The method that works:
- Tag each zombie once so all six chase you.
- Group them in your M1 range. Buddha is the wiki's first recommendation because its transformed hitbox catches all six.
- Bring them all to low HP with equal damage, then finish them with one move.
- Keep Instinct on the whole time. A full pack can kill you fast.
No Buddha? The wiki suggests Light M1s to gather them and its V to finish, or Magma for its high damage to NPCs. Lining them up and hitting them with Dragon Talon's X or Ice's V also deals equal damage. Avoid anything with knockback, which scatters the pack. Step 2: How do you solve the graveyard signs?
Go back to the graveyard and look at the two rows of signs along the path. Clicking a sign turns it white. Each sign should point toward the side with more graves. Count only the graves (cross-shaped graves count too), not the soil patches.

If a sign won't change, recount that row. Soil mounds are the usual mistake.
Step 3: Where is the Ghost NPC?
Enter the main castle and go to the room on the right side of the stairs. The Ghost NPC is inside. Talk to it and the screen turns black again, which means the step registered.
Step 4: How do you get the trophy code?
Go to the garden between the main castle and the Soul Reaper's room. Looking toward the castle, screenshot the trophies. The layout is random for each player, so never copy someone else's code.
Then go into the electrical room under the Haunted Castle and turn left to reach the circuit pad. Enter the code like this:
- Trees count as blank.
- A trophy whose handle runs left to right = a horizontal line.
- A trophy whose handle runs front to back (the wiki says "back and forth") = a vertical line.

Step 5: How do you solve the tiles?
In the same room, click the floor tiles until each one matches the color of the pipe above it on the wall or roof. Tiles with no colored pipe stay black. The wiki's reference row of 10 tiles reads: Blue, Black, Red, Black, Green, Black, Blue, Red, Black, Black.
When it's right, an unknown voice says "Congratulations." The puzzle is done for good, and you never repeat it.
How do you craft the Soul Guitar at the Weird Machine?
The Weird Machine only appears after the puzzle. It sits in the Haunted Castle basement, near the machine opposite the stairs down. Players who haven't finished the puzzle can't see it at all.

What's the fastest way to farm Bones?
Farm the Posessed Mummies (the in-game spelling, see the Bones page) in the Haunted Castle basement, through the door on the right beside the Demonic Souls. The Mummy page lists 4 to 6 Bones per drop, the best regular drop in the castle, and the Bones page puts the drop chance at 33%. That averages under 2 Bones a kill, so plan on roughly 300 mummy kills for 500 Bones.

Dragon owners can clear the Demonic Souls and Mummies together with transformed attacks in front of the main building, and Buddha doubles as a mastery farm while you're there.
Halloween warning. The Death King NPC takes 50 Bones for a Random Surprise, up to 10 times every 2 hours. With the Halloween event running until November 15, 2026 at 01:00 UTC, the wiki's Halloween tab adds a random fruit (8% chance) to that pool, plus a 150-Bone stat refund and a 300-Bone race reroll. That's tempting, but every gamble pushes your guitar further away. Bank 500 first.
How do you get 250 Ectoplasm fast?
Ectoplasm drops from the Cursed Ship crew in the Second Sea at 1 per drop, with Ship Officers the wiki's pick for grinding, per the Ectoplasm page. Bigger drops:
- Cursed Captain: a guaranteed 10 Ectoplasm. He spawns every 3 nights in the Cursed Ship and always in a server's first full moon.
- Haunted Crew Members and Ghost Sharks: 4 to 5 each.
- Third Sea events: the wiki notes Cursed Ship enemies in a Pirate Raid and the Haunted Shipwreck sea event also drop it.
The fastest crew method is awakened Quake's V fired from the middle of the Cursed Ship, which hits every enemy. Dragon (West) C covers nearly the whole area too. If you plan to buy the Ghoul race later, it costs another 100 Ectoplasm.
Where do you get the Dark Fragment?
Darkbeard in the Second Sea drops a guaranteed Dark Fragment. He's a Lv. 1000 raid boss with 305,000 HP. To summon him, walk into the altar in the middle of the Dark Arena while holding a Fist of Darkness.
The Fist of Darkness comes from Sea Beasts (2.5% chance) or Second Sea chests. It disappears if you die or leave, so take it straight to the arena or use a private server. Darkbeard despawns after 15 minutes, and you need to deal at least 10% of his damage to get kill credit and the drop. The wiki recommends two Third Sea players or five Second Sea players, though a strong solo build can do it.
Is the Soul Guitar worth it in 2026?
For PvP, yes. It's the community's go-to support gun because its moves chain into almost any build:

The catches: Rubber users are immune, the X lost 15% of its hitbox in Update 29.6, and the craft is one of the longest gun chases in the game.
