Quick answer: how to get to Sunreach in Palworld 1.0
You unlock Sunreach by beating the Feybreak Tower boss, Bjorn & Bastigor, then using the teleport portal that appears at the top of that tower to warp up to the sky islands. Sunreach stays hidden from your map until you do this — you cannot just walk or sail east to reach it. Come at around Level 58–60 to clear the gate fight; the region itself is tuned for roughly Level 60–70, with a Level 68 tower boss (Auri & Shaolong) and a Level 69 field boss (Ophydia). Sunreach is part of the free 1.0 update (released 2026-07-10), not paid DLC, and everything below is current on the live 1.0.3 build.
Sunreach is the first of two brand-new regions Palworld 1.0 added — a cluster of islands floating in the sky above the base map. It is stuffed with new Pals, a unique ore, a tower boss, and a field boss, and it is the natural stepping stone between the Feybreak endgame and the final World Tree region. This guide covers exactly how to reach it, what level to be, how to beat both bosses, which new Pals live up there, and how to mine Soralite — the ore you can only get in Sunreach.
If the climb to 80 is the part you want to skip, our Palworld leveling service handles it on PC, Xbox and PlayStation, on your own world or a dedicated server.

What is Sunreach in Palworld?
Sunreach is a sky-island region floating above the Palpagos Islands, added in the Palworld 1.0 full release. The official 1.0 patch notes describe it directly:
"Floating above Palpagos, a new set of islands has appeared in the skies! Kept aloft by the power of Paldium, this land holds an environment unlike the surface."
In plain terms: it is a set of green, wind-swept floating islands with their own settlements, wildlife, resources, a tower, and a chunk of the 72 new Pals that 1.0 introduced. It sits between the mid-to-late game and the true endgame. Once you have finished Sunreach, the next step is the World Tree, Palworld's Level 75+ final region — see our Panthalus questline guide for how that gate opens.
Two things make Sunreach worth a dedicated trip:
- Soralite, an ore you can only mine here (more on that below), used to craft top-tier 1.0 gear.
- A dense pack of new Pals at Level 65–70 — great catch-bonus XP if you are pushing toward the Level 80 cap.
How do you unlock Sunreach?
This is the part most guides get muddled, so here is the clean version.
Step 1 — Beat the Feybreak Tower boss. Sunreach is gated behind the Feybreak region's tower, guarded by Bjorn & Bastigor (a Level 60 tower fight). If you have not cleared the towers in order yet, our tower boss guide walks through all nine in sequence with their counters. Bring an Ice or Fire team and be around Level 58–60.
Step 2 — Use the portal at the top of the tower. After the fight, a teleport altar/portal appears at the peak of Feybreak Tower. Interact with it and it warps you straight up into the Sunreach sky islands. Until you take this portal, Sunreach does not appear on your map at all — that is why flying east from Palpagos gets you nothing.
Step 3 — Register the Sunreach fast-travel points. Once you are up there, activate the local statues/teleporters so you can warp back and forth without repeating the climb.
⚠️ The "fly straight up" shortcut: some players skip the gate by flying vertically off Feybreak on a high-stamina flyer like Jetragon or Suzaku — Sunreach has no anti-air defenses, so you are not shot down. It works, but it is an exploit-style skip that leaves you badly under-levelled for a Level 68 boss and Level 69 alphas. Treat it as a curiosity, not the real route.
What level should you be for Sunreach?
Sunreach is designed for roughly Level 60–70. Here is the honest bracket:
| Milestone | Recommended level |
|---|---|
| Clear Feybreak Tower (the gate) | 58–60 |
| Explore Sunreach comfortably | 62–68 |
| Auri & Shaolong tower boss | 68+ |
| Ophydia field boss | 69+ |
If you are showing up under-levelled, that is the single most common reason players bounce off Sunreach. The wild Pals and alphas here hit hard, and the tower boss runs a strict five-minute timer. Rather than grind the same camps for hours, you can close the gap fast — our fastest XP route to Level 80 stacks capture-bonus chains, dungeon completion XP, and passive base crafting. Or, if you would rather skip the grind entirely and land in Sunreach already at the right level, that is exactly what a Palworld leveling boost is for.
How to beat Auri & Shaolong (the Sunreach tower boss)
The Sunreach tower — the Azure Tapestry — is home to Auri & Shaolong, a Level 68 tower boss. There is a catch before you can even start the fight:
- The tower is sealed by a tornado barrier. You must first find and disable 6 Defense Modules scattered across the Sunreach islands. Destroy all six and the whirlwind wall drops, opening the arena.
- Shaolong is a Water/Dragon Pal, so it is weak to Electric and Ice. Build a team around those types — Electric hitters are the cleanest answer. Our best combat Pals tier list ranks the strongest 1.0 battlers if you need a squad.
- You have a 5-minute timer. Every reworked 1.0 tower fight was cut from ten minutes to five, so you cannot out-tank it — you need real damage per second, not just survivability.
- First clear pays 5 Ancient Technology Points plus XP, which you spend on high-tier ancient tech nodes near the level cap.
Bring healing consumables, dodge the arena-wide attacks, and focus Shaolong down before the timer expires.
Ophydia — the Sunreach field boss
Away from the tower, Sunreach has a fixed field (alpha) boss: Ophydia, a Level 69 dual Grass/Water serpent wrapped in foliage. It roams the southwestern part of the region, around Waterlily Gorge.
- Weakness: Electric — the same element that wrecks the tower boss, so one Electric team handles both.
- Drops: High-Quality Pal Oil and a Large Pal Soul, both useful for endgame crafting and condensing.
- Tip: capture Ophydia instead of killing it. Capturing an alpha pays more XP and feeds your condensing pipeline. Alpha Pals are also the most efficient rare-drop farm in the sky.

New Sunreach Pals and where to find them
Palworld 1.0 added 72 new Pals in total (47 brand-new species plus 25 regional variants), split across Sunreach and the World Tree. No official source breaks out an exact Sunreach-only count, so treat the region as home to a large slice of that roster rather than a fixed number. Here are confirmed Sunreach residents worth catching:
| Pal | Notes |
|---|---|
| Solmora | Sunreach-exclusive, roughly Level 66–67 |
| Slowatt | Sunreach-exclusive, roughly Level 65–66; Electric |
| Snock | Electric — strong power-generation worker |
| Valentail | Neutral — gathering worker |
| Souffline | Grass — planting/transport |
| Lapiron | Ground — mining/gathering |
| Hoodle | Dark — handiwork/transport |
| Tropicaw | Sunreach islands |
| Puffolt | Sunreach (also spawns in Bamboo Groves lower down) |
A few practical notes:
- The variant Solmora Lux spawns in both Sunreach and the World Tree.
- Because these are all fresh 1.0 species at Level 65–70, chaining catches here is excellent XP — remember the capture bonus now completes at 5 catches of a species (down from 12 in early access).
- If a Pal name isn't on an official list (palworld.wiki.gg or game8), it doesn't exist — 1.0 reshuffled everything, so don't trust a 2024-era spawn chart.
Soralite: the ore you can only mine in Sunreach
Sunreach's signature resource is Soralite, and it is genuinely exclusive — the 1.0 patch notes confirm it "can only be mined in Sunreach." You cannot harvest it with normal picks or mining Pals, either:
- You need the Plasma Multicutter, a tool unlocked at Technology Level 54. You fire it at the Soralite nodes to break them.
- Refine Soralite into Soralite Ingots at an Ancient Furnace to craft top-tier 1.0 weapons and gear.
- The richest Soralite deposits are inside the Sunreach Skies Dungeon, near the region's Teleport Altar.
Don't confuse Soralite with Paloxite — that is the World Tree's exclusive ore, not Sunreach's.
Sunreach points of interest
Beyond the two bosses, budget time for:
- The Sunreach Skies Dungeon — a dedicated dungeon near the Teleport Altar, loaded with Soralite nodes and completion XP.
- Treasure chests scattered across the floating islands.
- Expeditions: Sunreach was added as a new expedition destination in 1.0, so you can send Pals here for passive rewards once it is unlocked.
- The 6 Defense Modules — you need these for the tower anyway, and hunting them is a natural way to sweep the whole region.
Players also report light traversal aids between islands — teleport orbs and gravity-reducing buds that help you cross the gaps — though those are less consistently documented than the rest of the region.
A note on patches: play on 1.0.3
Sunreach shipped rough and got fixed over several patches, so update before you complain about bugs. The current live build, 1.0.3 (2026-08-12), specifically fixed a Sunreach soft-lock where the main mission could become impossible to progress if you dropped the tower barrier before accepting the mission. Earlier stability work landed in 1.0.2. If Sunreach is behaving strangely, check that you are on the latest version first.
Skip the climb to the sky islands
Sunreach is a Level 60–70 zone, and getting there means grinding through the full tower gauntlet first. If you would rather land in the clouds already at the right level:
- Palworld Leveling Boost — skip the grind, hit the cap fast
- All Palworld services — carries, bosses, and more
FAQ
How do you unlock Sunreach in Palworld? Beat the Feybreak Tower boss (Bjorn & Bastigor), then use the teleport portal that appears at the top of that tower to warp up to the Sunreach sky islands. The region is hidden from your map until you do this, so you cannot reach it by flying or sailing there directly.
What level should I be for Sunreach? Aim for around Level 58–60 to clear the Feybreak gate, then Level 62–68 to explore Sunreach comfortably. The tower boss, Auri & Shaolong, is Level 68, and the field boss Ophydia is Level 69, so 68+ is ideal before you take them on.
Is Sunreach paid DLC? No. Sunreach is part of the free Palworld 1.0 update released on 2026-07-10 — there was no price increase, and existing owners got it at no cost, including on Game Pass.
How do you beat Auri & Shaolong? First disable the 6 Defense Modules across Sunreach to drop the tornado barrier around the Azure Tapestry tower. Then bring an Electric or Ice team — Shaolong is a Water/Dragon Pal weak to both — and burn it down within the 5-minute timer.
Where do you get Soralite? Soralite can only be mined in Sunreach, using the Plasma Multicutter (unlocked at Technology Level 54). The best deposits are in the Sunreach Skies Dungeon near the Teleport Altar; refine the ore into Soralite Ingots at an Ancient Furnace.
Can I fly straight up to Sunreach to skip the tower? You can — Sunreach has no anti-air defenses, so a high-stamina flyer like Jetragon can climb up. But it is an exploit-style skip that leaves you under-levelled for Level 68–69 content, so it is not recommended over unlocking the portal properly.
