Battlefield 6 All Weapons List: How to Unlock Every Gun

Reaching Career Rank 50 in Battlefield 6 does not unlock every gun. On EA's roster plus the Season 5 guns, it gets you 32 of 66 weapons. The other 34 sit behind Assignments, catch-up challenges and seasonal Battle Pass tiers, and reaching a Career Rank alone will not open them.

EA's own weapon list will not show you the full picture either. Its Loadout Creation and Weapon Classes page was still stamped "Recently Updated for Season 4" when we re-read it on November 1, 2026, and it has no entry for any of the four Season 5 guns. This page is that roster plus those four, checked for Season 5 on Game Update 2.1.1.0, the newest update page EA has published as of November 1, 2026.

Quick answer: Battlefield 6 has 66 weapons in Season 5: 59 primaries and 7 sidearms. 6 are unlocked from the start, 26 come from Career Rank (Rank 2 to Rank 50), 14 from Assignments, 12 from older seasonal catch-up or challenge unlocks, 4 from Season 4 and 4 from the Season 5 Battle Pass. Unlocking a gun does not unlock its attachments: those come from that weapon's own Hardware XP, earned mainly through kills and assists with it.

How many weapons are in Battlefield 6?

Sixty-six named guns, by our count. We added the 62 weapons on EA's roster to the four Season 5 launch guns it names in its update notes and roadmap. EA's store page advertises "70+ weapons", but it gives no list, and the roster does not reach that number.

DMRs6None

One name needs a caveat. EA's progression table, stamped for Season 2, lists the RPKM LMG at Career Rank 30, and EA's patch notes named it as recently as Update 1.4.3.0 in September, but its newer roster leaves it out. We keep it out of the 66 to match that roster. If it is in your Loadout menu, count it as a 67th gun.

How do you unlock weapons in Battlefield 6?

Every gun uses one of five routes. The route decides what you should be doing, so check it in the Loadout menu before you queue.

RouteWeaponsWhat it takes
Default6Nothing, you own them from your first match
Career Rank26Reach the rank, the gun unlocks by itself
Assignment14Finish a named challenge set
Catch-up or challenge unlock12Finish the challenge for an older season's gun
Current or recent seasons8Battle Pass tier, event or Season 4 catch-up

Assignments are gated by rank too. EA's progression table places Class Challenge Assignments at Rank 10 and Weapon Challenge Assignments at Rank 13, so the weapon chains do not appear before then. EA says the exact requirements are shown in game and does not publish a checklist. Our Assignments guide covers each chain.

Catch-up challenges are EA's safety net for seasonal guns. The progression guide says: "If you missed a Battle Pass or Bonus Path, the Seasonal Catch-Up Challenges allow you to unlock that Hardware via challenge."

Which weapons unlock at which Career Rank?

This is the full rank order from EA's roster. Most ranks not listed unlock a gadget or loadout slot instead. The exception is Rank 30, where EA's progression table shows the RPKM covered above.

Rank 50 is also where functional unlocks stop. EA says ranks 51 to 100 add cosmetics, and ranks keep climbing after that, as our max level breakdown explains.

How do you unlock the Season 5 weapons?

EA has not added any of the four guns to its roster or published their unlock routes. The most specific source is Gfinity's Season 5 unlock guide, last verified October 13, so treat these as third-party reports:

  • ELR-40: Tier 5 of the Recruit Path
  • Mk 24: Tier 11 of the Audacious Breach Path
  • RSPR: Tier 11 of the Access Defied Path
  • Z84M: Tier 11 of the Fate's Reckoning Path

Gfinity says all four are free. EA's Battle Pass page is narrower: it lists a free sniper rifle, assault rifle and machine gun, under what look like internal code names, and no SMG. So the RSPR's free status is likely, not confirmed by EA.

Can you still get the Season 4 weapons?

Three of the four Season 4 guns have a clear route. The Update 2.1.1.0 notes added Season 4 catch-up challenges for the BROD 3, the Interdictor and the VSSM. EA disagrees with itself on where the Interdictor came from: its roster says "Available During Season 4 Event", while 2.1.1.0 groups it with the Season 4 Battle Pass weapons. The catch-up route is the part that matters now.

The EF88 did not get one. EA's notes name it as a Season 4 Battle Pass weapon, but they add no catch-up line for it, and EA's October 21 community update does not mention it either. We found no published route for players who missed it, so check its requirement in your Loadout menu.

There is one trap here. Update 2.1.1.0 says Battle Royale players at Field Training Level 1 or higher "now redeploy with the EF88, PP-19, M121 A2, or Mini Scout". Being handed the gun in REDSEC is not the same as unlocking it for Multiplayer.

How do you unlock attachments fastest?

Attachments are a separate job from the gun. They come from that weapon's Hardware Rank, and Career XP does not move it.

Battlefield 6 Support soldier firing an LMG while earning Hardware XP

EA publishes no Hardware XP values, so nobody can give you a verified number of kills per rank. What EA does state gives a clear routine:

  • Stick to one gun. XP goes to the weapon you are using, so five guns at once means five slow tracks.
  • Get kills and assists. Of the per-action rewards EA lists, only those pay Hardware XP. Revives, spotting and objectives pay Career and Battle Pass XP only. Just having the gun out earns a small passive amount.
  • Finish the match. The completion bonus pays Career, Weapon and Battle Pass XP "depending on time in match and result".
  • Pick a full-XP mode. EA says "All Multiplayer experiences, as well as Verified Community Experiences in Portal, grant full XP towards this progression system".
  • Avoid Custom Portal for levelling. Those "Modified XP" lobbies swap kill XP for a larger completion award, which is why a Custom Portal bot farm barely moves a gun.

Gauntlet left the active playlists on October 13, though EA says it "is still available as a verified Portal mode". If you are REDSEC-only, remember you drop with a sidearm and loot the rest, so your own builds reach you through Custom Weapon Drops rather than from the first second of a match.

Levelling is also quicker than at launch. EA's Blastpoint update says players are "now unlocking primary weapon attachments roughly 50% faster than before". A weapon's mastery tops out with a gilded Weapon Package at Hardware Level 50.

Battlefield 6 rifle with optic and attachment rails

Once parts unlock, you still have to fit them inside the weapon's Attachment Point budget. Our attachments guide lists every cost EA has published. Double XP windows speed all of this up, and our Double XP tracker covers which ones touch Hardware XP.

Which weapons should you unlock first?

Spend your time on guns you will keep using. One player finished levelling the AK4D, a Career Rank 35 rifle, and summed it up in an r/Battlefield6 thread: "I just got finished leveling it to 50 yesterday and I will NEVER touch it again!" The same thread blames the limb damage changes, which is worth knowing before you commit.

Our Season 5 tier list has the full reasoning. The short version for unlock planning:

  • M433: the best gun you own from your first match
  • AK-205: Career Rank 22, with the lowest recoil variation EA has published
  • KV9 and TR-7: Career Rank 45 and 50, both top picks but late
  • SCW-10: a top close-range pick, behind CLOSE QUARTERS 1
  • Z84M: reported as a free Battle Pass unlock

Class matters as well. In Closed Weapon experiences, EA restricts each class to its Signature Weapon plus Carbines, DMRs and Shotguns: Assault rifles for Assault, SMGs for Engineer, LMGs for Support and Sniper Rifles for Recon. A carbine, DMR or shotgun works on every class, so one of those gives you the most use from a single levelling grind.

One timing note. EA says it has "looked at nerfing the extended mags on the SCW-10 and KV9", with balance changes planned for Season 5 Phase 2 on November 10. If either gun is your next long grind, read those patch notes first.

What new weapons are coming to Battlefield 6?

Two more guns are on EA's Season 5 roadmap graphic: the NSW4 carbine with Casino Heist on November 10, and the MK 1 MOD 0 DMR with Frozen Aces on December 8. If both ship as planned, the list reaches 68. EA has published no stats or unlock routes for either yet.

FAQ

How many guns are in Battlefield 6? There are 66 named guns on our Season 5 count: 59 primaries and 7 sidearms. That is the 62 weapons on EA's roster plus the Mk 24, RSPR, Z84M and ELR-40. EA's store page says "70+ weapons" without a list, the RPKM is missing from the roster, and two more guns are on the roadmap.

Does reaching Rank 50 unlock all weapons? No. Rank 50 plus the default guns gives you 32 of the 66 on our count, or 33 with the RPKM. The other 34 come from Assignments, catch-up or challenge unlocks, and seasonal content.

Is there an unlock all option in Battlefield 6? Not for the full roster. EA's Ultimate Shortcut Kit is the closest thing, and its Xbox listing covers 7 weapons per class at 100% mastery. That is 28 weapons, not all 66.

Why did I unlock a gun but not its attachments? The gun and its attachments use different tracks. Career Rank or an Assignment opens the weapon, then that weapon's own Hardware XP opens its attachments, Weapon Packages and camos.

Do bots give weapon XP in Battlefield 6? It depends on the experience label. Verified Portal experiences pay full XP for player kills and reduced XP for bot kills. Custom ones marked Modified XP replace kill XP with a larger completion award, so guns barely level there. EA has published no bot-kill percentage, and its Season 2 trial guide said Casual Breakthrough had "reduced XP from Bot-related actions".

Does the Firing Range give weapon XP? EA presents it as a place to test targets, distances and damage readouts, and we found no official line saying it pays XP. Use it to tune a build, then level in a match.

Can you still get the EF88 in Battlefield 6? EA has published no route for players who missed it. Update 2.1.1.0 added catch-up challenges for the BROD 3, Interdictor and VSSM, but not the EF88. Check its requirement in your Loadout menu.
