Search "genshin 7.1 banners" today and you get a wall of pages that all say the same thing, in the same order, with the same four names. Almost none of them tell you which half of that list HoYoverse has actually printed and which half is a broadcast claim nobody has published in writing yet. That distinction matters a lot when you are deciding whether to spend a guarantee this week or hold it for three more.

So we went back to the primary sources: the live in-game announcement feed, the three official Version 7.1 posts on HoYoLAB, and HoYoverse's own Version 7.1 Event Calendar image. Here is what is confirmed, what is derived, and what is still just consensus.

Quick answer: The current Version 7.0 Phase II wishes — Flins and Ineffa — end at 2026/09/22 14:59 server time. Version 7.1 "A Rekviem for the Underworld" arrives on 23 September 2026, and both Phase 1 debut banners open after that update: "When Warm Winds Cavort" featuring Vesna (Anemo) and "Surging Ballad" featuring Vodyanitsa (Hydro). They run in parallel and share one guarantee count. The weapon wish brings two event-exclusive 5-stars, Beyond the Chrysalis (Sword) and Hymn of the Maelstrom (Catalyst). For Phase 2, HoYoverse has published nothing in writing — its own Version 7.1 Event Calendar has exactly one Event Wishes row and no second phase on it. Every "Skirk and Escoffier on 13 October" headline you are reading traces back to the Special Program broadcast, not to a notice you can open in-game.

Article status: verified 18 September 2026 against live first-party data. Banner end times come from the in-game announcement API (announcements 21805, 21806 and 21808, read on 18 September 2026). The 7.1 banner names, characters and elements come from the official Character Skill Showcase posts on HoYoLAB for Vesna (post 46688739) and Vodyanitsa (post 46691872). Weapon names, rarities and stats are transcribed from the official Version 7.1 "A Rekviem for the Underworld" New Weapon Overview (post 46712931). The version end date and the anniversary rewards come from the in-game "Version 7.1 Benefits Overview" announcement (announcement 21923). Phase timings are read off HoYoverse's own Version 7.1 Event Calendar image. No leak, beta build or datamine is used anywhere in this article.

When do the current Genshin banners end?

2026/09/22 at 14:59 server time. All three live wishes carry the identical window, printed as 2026/09/01 18:00 to 2026/09/22 14:59 in their own notices:

  • "The Lone Light Knocks at Night" — "Shadowy Lights, Stranger Wights" Flins (Electro), with Aino (Hydro), Iansan (Electro) and Lan Yan (Anemo) as the boosted 4-stars.
  • "Astral Actuation" — "Boom Boom Thunderwave" Ineffa (Electro), with the same three boosted 4-stars.
  • "Epitome Invocation" — Bloodsoaked Ruins (Polearm) and Fractured Halo (Polearm), with The Flute, Favonius Greatsword, Favonius Lance, Eye of Perception and The Stringless.

The practical consequence people keep missing: the wishes close roughly 15 hours before the version rolls over. The 7.0 version notices are stamped to expire at 09/23 06:00, which is the slot maintenance has occupied every recent version. Your banner window is the 22nd, not the 23rd. If you are sitting on a 70-pity and planning to "decide on update day", you will open the game to an empty wish screen and a maintenance splash.

We break the timing down server by server in our Genshin 7.1 release date guide, and the current phase structure in the Genshin banner schedule for September 2026.

What are the Genshin 7.1 Phase 1 banners?

Two debut characters, two separate banners, both starting after the 23 September update. HoYoverse states each one in plain text inside the character showcase posts — these are among the very few typed sentences in what are otherwise image-only announcements.

For Vesna:

"The 'When Warm Winds Cavort' Event Wish will be available after the Version 7.1 update on September 23. During this event, 'Snowy Banquet's Sharp Blade' Vesna (Anemo) will receive a huge drop rate boost!"

For Vodyanitsa, the companion post names "Surging Ballad" and prints her element as Hydro.

Two things are worth pinning down here, because both get misreported.

The elements are official, not inferred. Vesna is Anemo and Vodyanitsa is Hydro because HoYoverse typed those words, not because someone read a trailer colour grade. Their rarity is not official. Neither showcase prints a star count. Every "5-star Vesna" headline is an assumption from the fact that debut characters lead banners — a very safe assumption, but still an assumption as of 18 September.

They run at the same time, and that is deliberate. Vodyanitsa's skill showcase explains the design link: her song upgrades Vesna's "Stellar Vortex" into a "Wandering Vortex" that reduces enemy Anemo RES and swaps the Hydro and Cryo DMG bonuses for a Stellar Swirl DMG bonus, and she extends teammates' "Radiance: Stellar Swirl" duration. The two banners are not competing for your Primogems by accident — they are sold as a pair.

Which brings up the single most expensive detail in this entire article. HoYoverse prints it on every Character Event Wish notice, verbatim:

"The wish guarantee count for 'Character Event Wish' and 'Character Event Wish-2' is shared, and is accumulated between both 'Character Event Wish' and 'Character Event Wish-2.' This wish guarantee count is independent of the guarantee counts of other types of wishes."

Losing a 50/50 on Vesna does not reset your progress toward Vodyanitsa. It is one pity counter feeding two banners. If you want both, that is not two full guarantees of budget — but if you want one specifically, a loss on the other banner still moves you forward. Vesna's kit, ascension line and stack economy are in our full Genshin Vesna build guide.

What weapons are on the Genshin 7.1 weapon banner?

HoYoverse published the full Version 7.1 weapon set on 15 September as a set of image cards. Transcribed, with the Lv.90 Refinement Rank 1 numbers printed on each card:

Event-exclusive 5-star weapons, obtained from wishes:

  • Beyond the Chrysalis (Sword) — Base ATK 674, CRIT DMG 44.10%. Its passive, "Dance of Wings Unbound", cycles three effects on each Elemental Skill or Burst use: +56% CRIT DMG for 10s, +36% Stellar Swirl Reaction DMG for 10s, or up to 5 Elemental Energy restored every 4s. The sequence resets when the character leaves the field.
  • Hymn of the Maelstrom (Catalyst) — Base ATK 542, Max HP 66.20%. "Rondo of Slumber" gives +4% Healing Bonus, and on healing grants +4% Max HP plus +0.4% ATK to the active party member for every 1,000 Max HP over 40,000, capped at 8% ATK, 3 stacks, 10s. Near a Frozen or Stellar Swirl reaction those boosts increase by a further 75% for 5s, and the whole thing works off-field.

You do not need a leak to work out who these are for. A sword that scales CRIT DMG and Stellar Swirl Reaction DMG lines up with an Anemo sword user built on Stellar Swirl. A catalyst that scales Max HP, rewards healing and triggers off Frozen or Stellar Swirl lines up with a Hydro support who heals. HoYoverse has not confirmed either weapon as a signature — treat that pairing as a strong read, not a fact.

Event-exclusive 4-star weapons, obtained from wishes (all three at Base ATK 510):

  • New Bough (Sword) — CRIT DMG 55.10%. Boosts ATK and Stellar Glimmer Reaction DMG, works off-field.
  • Winter's Heavy Heart (Catalyst) — CRIT DMG 55.10%. +24 Elemental Mastery per Cryo character and +4.8% ATK per Electro character in the party, up to 4 characters.
  • Breezeborne Refrain (Bow) — CRIT Rate 27.60%. +20% Energy Recharge, and at 3 stacks grants nearby party members a 24% Stellar Glimmer Reaction DMG boost for 12s.

And one that is not a banner weapon at all. Silver Light (Sword) — Base ATK 510, ATK 41.30%, +52 Elemental Mastery for 12s after Elemental Skill use — is a 4-star you get by participating in the "Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon" event, with its refinement materials also from the event. Its card says so directly. It keeps showing up in "7.1 weapon banner" lists anyway. Do not budget wishes for it; play the event instead. Event dates are in our Genshin 7.1 events calendar.

Is Skirk really the Genshin 7.1 Phase 2 banner?

Here is the honest version, and it is the part no other page will give you.

Every major outlet says the same thing: Version 7.1 Phase 2 is a Skirk and Escoffier double rerun running 13 October to 3 November 2026, with the banners named "Void Star's Advent" and "La Chanson Cerise". Game8, Sportskeeda, Eurogamer and the rest are all in lockstep on it, and they are almost certainly right — that information came out of HoYoverse's own Special Program broadcast.

But there is still no written first-party notice. As of 18 September 2026 we checked the live in-game announcement feed and the official HoYoLAB news list, and there is no 7.1 Event Wish notice of any kind yet, for either phase. More tellingly: HoYoverse's own Version 7.1 Event Calendar — the single image the whole community used to build its 7.1 schedule — has exactly one Event Wishes row on it. That row reads "When Warm Winds Cavort" and "Surging Ballad", beginning 09/23. There is no Phase 2 row. The 13 October date is not on the calendar HoYoverse published.

What you can pin down is the version's end date, and this one is first-party. HoYoverse pushed a "Version 7.1 Benefits Overview" announcement into the game on 12 September, and it prints its own event duration as "After the Version 7.1 update – 11/03 (Server Time)". The announcement record itself is stamped to expire at 2026-11-03 00:00:00. Two of the Event Calendar's longest entries — Stygian Onslaught (09/30 to 11/03) and the Starlit Gala second phase (10/22 to 11/03) — terminate on the same day.

So Version 7.1 is a confirmed six-week version, 23 September to 3 November 2026. Split that window evenly into two phases and the changeover lands in the 13–14 October range, which is exactly where the reported date sits. That is a derivation that agrees with the reporting, not independent confirmation of it — but it does mean the reported date is arithmetically sane rather than invented.

Practical translation: plan around a mid-October Phase 2, but do not treat the banner list as locked until the Event Wish notice appears in-game. On the 7.0 cycle the Maintenance Preview notice landed two days before the update, which puts the first hard 7.1 paperwork around 21 September.

What HoYoverse has not published about 7.1 banners

A short, deliberately boring list — because the gap between this list and what you have been reading is the whole point of this article.

  • No 7.1 Event Wish notice exists yet. Not for Phase 1, not for Phase 2. The wish screen still shows 7.0 content.
  • No Version 7.1 Update Maintenance Preview has been posted, so no official maintenance start or end time exists.
  • No Phase 2 row on the official Event Calendar, and therefore no first-party 13 October date, no first-party Skirk or Escoffier confirmation, and no written banner names for them.
  • No published rarity for Vesna or Vodyanitsa, and no published weapon type for Vodyanitsa.
  • No confirmed signature weapon pairing for Beyond the Chrysalis or Hymn of the Maelstrom.
  • No talent multipliers, ascension stats or constellation text for either debut character.

If a page states any of the above as settled fact, it is filling a gap, not reporting one.

Should you pull on Phase 1 or save for Phase 2?

Three things actually decide this, and none of them is a tier list.

One: the shared guarantee. Two debut banners running in parallel off one pity counter is the cheapest "get both" structure Genshin offers. If Vesna and Vodyanitsa are both appealing, Phase 1 is unusually good value. If only one of them is, the shared counter cuts the other way — you can drift toward a character you did not want.

Two: the anniversary payout. The in-game "Version 7.1 Benefits Overview" notice lays out what arrives inside this window: 1,600 Primogems claimed via mail, 10 Intertwined Fate from limited-time check-in, a "Choose 1 of 6" 5-star invitation tied to completing the Version 7.1 Archon Quest — Tartaglia, Nilou, Baizhu, Chiori, Clorinde or Varesa, with ascension materials to Lv. 60 included — and a separate "5-Star Character: Choose 1 of 8". That is a free ten-pull plus two free 5-stars, which changes what "I can't afford both" means. Details are in our Genshin anniversary 2026 rewards guide, and the selector lists in the free 5-star selector breakdown.

Three: the reruns are reruns. Skirk and Escoffier have both been available before and will be again. Vesna and Vodyanitsa will not rerun for months. If you are pity-poor and want a debut character, that asymmetry is the argument for Phase 1 — with the honest caveat that Phase 2's line-up is not officially in writing yet.

FAQ

When do the Genshin 7.1 banners start? After the Version 7.1 update on 23 September 2026. HoYoverse states "after the Version 7.1 update on September 23" directly in both character showcase posts. No exact hour has been published because no maintenance notice exists yet.

What are the Genshin 7.1 Phase 1 banners? "When Warm Winds Cavort" featuring Vesna (Anemo) and "Surging Ballad" featuring Vodyanitsa (Hydro). Both are confirmed by name and element in official HoYoLAB posts.

When do the current Genshin banners end? 2026/09/22 at 14:59 server time, for all three live wishes — Flins, Ineffa and Epitome Invocation. That is about 15 hours before the version rolls over.

Do the two 7.1 character banners share pity? Yes. HoYoverse's notices state that the guarantee count for "Character Event Wish" and "Character Event Wish-2" is shared and accumulates between both, and is independent of other wish types. Progress on one carries to the other.

Is Skirk confirmed for Genshin 7.1 Phase 2? Not in writing. Every outlet reports Skirk and Escoffier from 13 October, sourced to the Special Program broadcast, but HoYoverse's own Version 7.1 Event Calendar has no Phase 2 row and no Event Wish notice has been published. Expect the first hard confirmation around 21 September.

What 5-star weapons are in Genshin 7.1? Beyond the Chrysalis (Sword), with 674 Base ATK and 44.10% CRIT DMG, and Hymn of the Maelstrom (Catalyst), with 542 Base ATK and 66.20% Max HP. Both are event-exclusive and will not appear in the standard wish "Wanderlust Invocation".

Is Silver Light on the 7.1 weapon banner? No. Silver Light (Sword) is an event reward from "Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon", including its refinement materials. It is not obtainable from wishes.

How long is Version 7.1? Six weeks, 23 September to 3 November 2026. The in-game "Version 7.1 Benefits Overview" announcement states its duration as "After the Version 7.1 update – 11/03 (Server Time)" and the announcement record expires at 2026-11-03 00:00:00, which matches the Event Calendar's 11/03 end for both Stygian Onslaught and the Starlit Gala second phase.

Keep your 7.1 prep in one place. We re-check every Genshin banner page against the live in-game announcement feed, so the dates you read here are the dates the game is actually serving.
