HoYoverse published the Version 7.2 Event Calendar on HoYoLAB after the 23 October 2026 Special Program. It is a single picture with dates but no hours. On 2 November the in-game announcement feed filled the gap: a batch of 7.2 notices went up with exact end times, eligibility rules and several Primogem rewards that the calendar never showed. This page combines both, so you get every event, the hour it closes on your server and a Primogem count you can check against HoYoverse's own wording.
Quick answer: Genshin Impact Version 7.2 "Hour of Ruin" goes live after maintenance that starts at 2026/11/04 06:00 (UTC+8), which is 22:00 UTC on 3 November, and is estimated to take 5 hours. The calendar's event badges total 2,370 Primogems. HoYoverse's notices and press release add 560 for the Archon Quest, 400 for the new exploration missions, 60 for a new Repertoire of Myriad Melodies album and 300 in maintenance compensation. That is 3,690 Primogems, or 23 wishes with 10 left over. The flagship event, The Grand Defense: Defy the Unjust Judgment, runs for the whole version and needs Adventure Rank 20.
Article status: refreshed 3 November 2026, the day before launch. Event names, dates and badges come from HoYoverse's Version 7.2 Event Calendar (HoYoLAB post 47177975). Exact hours, eligibility and the extra rewards come from the in-game announcement feed, notices posted between 31 October and 2 November 2026 and read on 3 November. The 560 Archon Quest figure is from HoYoverse's 23 October press release. The quality-of-life changes come from Paimon's Version 7.2 Update Notes (official news 167098). What is in the Genshin 7.2 event calendar?
The calendar has ten dated entries, the update marker and two permanent modes. Here they are in date order, with every date and badge as printed. Where a 2 November notice gives an exact end time, it is in the last column. Times written as YYYY/MM/DD HH:MM are server time unless marked UTC+8.

How many Primogems can you get from Genshin 7.2?
There are two honest answers. The calendar alone says 2,370. Everything HoYoverse has put in writing for 7.2 says 3,690. Here is where each number comes from.

At 160 Primogems per wish, 3,690 is 23 Intertwined Fates with 10 Primogems spare. Without the compensation, which depends on how long maintenance actually runs, it is 3,390, or 21 wishes with 30 spare.
That total still leaves things out on purpose: daily commissions, the paid Battle Pass, Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theater resets, codes and any second maintenance. The Archon Quest notice itself does not print a number. It promises "Primogems, Character Ascension Materials, Character Level-Up Materials, Snezhnaya regional specialties, and other rewards" for finishing within the window. The 560 figure is the one from HoYoverse's 23 October press release.
When does The Grand Defense unlock, and is it time-gated?
Notice 21969 answers the question players were asking on Reddit this morning: should you play the event before or after the new Archon Quests? HoYoverse's wording:
"This event is closely tied to the Archon Quest and will unlock as you progress through Archon Quest Chapter VII: Act VI 'A Yesterday Sent From Beyond.' For the best experience, we recommend completing plenty of Story Quests, Hangout Events, and World Quests, and pacing your playthrough of this event alongside your Archon Quest progress!"
So the event opens during Act VI, the second of the two new acts. It is not after both. The rules are:
- Eligibility: Adventure Rank 20 or above, plus Archon Quest Chapter VII: Act IV "A Rekviem for the Underworld" completed.
- Quick Start: if you are AR20 or above and have finished Prologue: Act III "Song of the Dragon and Freedom", you can join through "Quick Start" on the event page without doing the Snezhnaya story first.
- Duration: "Available throughout the entirety of Version 7.2." The calendar draws it as 11/04 – 12/16.
- Operations: three types, called Emergency Rescue, Securing Air Supremacy and Tactical Sweep. Emergency Rescue uses overhead surveillance devices to find rescue targets. Securing Air Supremacy has you guide a Favonian Falcon along a set flight path. Tactical Sweep has you deploy members to events, then cut down a boss's HP within a time limit.
- Reward: the notice title is "Participate to Invite a 4-Star Character of Your Choice", and the calendar badge is 920 Primogems.

What other Genshin 7.2 events are not on the calendar?
The 2 November notices cover more than the calendar does. These are the ones with rewards or a deadline worth knowing.
Where Kristall Roots Run Deep (400 Primogems). Version 7.2 unlocks two new Snezhnaya areas, Novokitezhgrad and Wingspan Peak. Finish their exploration missions by 2027/01/26 14:59 for "an additional reward of Primogems ×400". That deadline runs well past 7.2, so there is no reason to rush the map on day one.
Archon Quest "Hour of Ruin" reward window. Chapter VII: Act V and Act VI become permanently available. To unlock them you need Adventure Rank 18 and Act IV "A Rekviem for the Underworld" completed. The timed reward is for finishing by 2026/12/15 14:59.
Repertoire of Myriad Melodies (60 Primogems). A new album, "Encounter: Interlude of the Long Journey", arrives with the update. Its performance missions pay 60 Primogems until 2026/12/15 14:59.
Sacred Spirit Chronicle (Battle Pass). Runs until 2026/12/14 03:59 and needs Adventure Rank 20. Gnostic Hymn and Gnostic Chorus purchases close an hour earlier, at 2026/12/14 02:59. You can still finish missions and claim rewards after that.
Genius Invokation TCG, The Forge Realm's Temper: Endless Swarm. Four challenge stages through Prince at The Cat's Tail, available for the whole version. It needs Adventure Rank 32, Prologue: Act III and the World Quest "Battlefield of Dice, Cats, and Cards".
Miliastra Wonderland. The "Polyphonic Season" Play Phase runs 2026/11/05 10:00 – 2026/12/15 03:59. "Raiment Collection: Radiance Ablaze" gives a "Tinker's Treasures" Manekin Cosmetic Set of your choice plus Geodes of Replication until 2026/12/16 05:59. Both need an awakened Manekin. The cosmetic notice warns that once you claim any piece of the set, "your choice will be locked and cannot be changed."
New accounts only. The 7.2 version of "Across the Frozen Wilds, Honing One's Edge" lets Travelers who register after the 7.2 update invite a 5-star from the Standard Wish, within 42 days of registering. Existing accounts are not eligible.
What happens during the Version 7.2 maintenance?
Notice 22002, the Version 7.2 Update Maintenance Preview, sets out the schedule:
- Start: 2026/11/04 06:00 (UTC+8). That is 22:00 UTC on 3 November: 17:00 in New York, 22:00 in London and 01:00 on 4 November in Moscow.
- Length: "estimated to take 5 hours", so servers are expected back around 03:00 UTC on 4 November.
- Compensation: "Primogems ×300 (60 Primogems per hour the servers are down)". You need Adventure Rank 5 or above by the start of maintenance. It arrives by in-game mail "within 5 hours after the update maintenance is finished", and "The mail will expire after 30 days."
- Pre-install: available now. HoYoverse estimates 8 GB on PC and 3 GB on mobile, with one voice-over pack.
The 60-per-hour wording is why the compensation line in the table is an estimate: the 300 matches the 5-hour estimate, not a fixed sum. Our Genshin 7.2 release date guide converts the start time for every server and time zone.
Which Version 7.1 events end before 7.2 arrives?
Most 7.1 deadlines have already passed. The ones still open close at 2026/11/03 14:59 server time:
- the 7.1 Event Wishes (Skirk, Escoffier) and Epitome Invocation,
- the "Tabletop Troupe" and 7.1 "Across the Frozen Wilds" 5-star invites,
- the "A Rekviem for the Underworld" Archon Quest reward window and its time-limited Epilogue,
- "The Godforsaken Frostlands" exploration event.
Server time is each region's own clock. Asia and TW, HK, MO are UTC+8, so 14:59 there was 06:59 UTC this morning and those servers have already closed. Europe is UTC+1, which means 13:59 UTC. Already closed: Overflowing Favor, Moontrace, Carefree Snowball Fight, Starlight Voyage and the fifth Stella Fortuna cycle (all 2026/11/02 03:59), plus the 7.1 Stygian Onslaught season (2026/11/03 03:59).
Which banners run alongside the 7.2 events?
Notice 21997 confirms Phase 1. "Myriad Patterns Unfold" features "Rules Set at Naught" Mitya (Electro), with boosted 4-stars Valeriy (Electro), Charlotte (Cryo) and Rosaria (Cryo), until 2026/11/24 17:59. The same notice says Valeriy "will be available in the standard wish 'Wanderlust Invocation' in the next Version." A Furina rerun runs alongside it.
The calendar has no Phase 2 row. HoYoverse's press release says Zibai and Linnea return in Phase 2 with a Chronicled Wish featuring "certain Natlan characters". What changes in Version 7.2 besides the events?
Paimon's Version 7.2 Update Notes (29 October) list three quality-of-life changes and one note about the new map.
Specialty Tracking points at the specialty you picked. In HoYoverse's words: "After the version update, as long as you have a character in your party who can display nearby Local Specialties, tracking a specific Local Specialty will make the minimap prioritize markers for that specialty."
Prime Ice Constructs get a friends-only setting. Sending and receiving can be set to Everyone, Only Friends or Don't Allow. Constructs will no longer be sent to areas around Statues of The Seven, Adventurers' Guilds, blacksmiths and Meeting Points. The batch-delete limit rises from 100 to 200.
Ley Line Outcrops show their enemies before you start. Select an outcrop on the map to see the opponents first. HoYoverse's example shows Icy Crystal: Frostnight Scion at level 85, next to the 20-resin cost.
Part of Wingspan Peak starts inside the Shadow Realm. HoYoverse says that after you complete the "An Ancient Song of Flowing Crystal and Stone Chests" quest chain, the Shadow Realm in the east of Wingspan Peak recedes, and you can then explore it "with any characters in their party".
How do you read the 7.2 dates on your own server?
There are two clocks. The calendar and the maintenance notice use UTC+8. HoYoverse's post of the calendar on X says: "Event times shown in the calendar are in UTC+8. Please check in-game notices for event details and schedules." Maintenance happens at the same moment on every server.
The in-game event notices use server time. A 14:59 end means 14:59 on your server's clock, so it lands at a different UTC moment on Asia, Europe and America. Web events such as The Long Night run on one global clock, so a 12/15 UTC+8 end can fall on the evening of 12/14 in Europe or the Americas. Once an event's notice is live, go by the notice, not the calendar.

Should I do the 7.2 event before or after the Archon Quest? Alongside it. HoYoverse recommends "pacing your playthrough of this event alongside your Archon Quest progress", and the event opens during Act VI rather than after both new acts.
Who gets the 300 Primogem maintenance compensation? Every Traveler at Adventure Rank 5 or above by 2026/11/04 06:00 (UTC+8). It arrives by in-game mail within 5 hours after maintenance ends, and the mail expires after 30 days.
What new areas come with Genshin 7.2? Novokitezhgrad and Wingspan Peak in Snezhnaya. Completing their exploration missions by 2027/01/26 14:59 adds 400 Primogems. Part of Wingspan Peak starts inside the Shadow Realm until you finish the "An Ancient Song of Flowing Crystal and Stone Chests" quest chain.
