Mitya went live with Version 7.2, "Hour of Ruin" on 4 November 2026, so his kit numbers are now in the game and on HoYoverse's own HoYoWiki. Several popular Mitya guides were first written from pre-release data. This one uses the live numbers from HoYoverse's HoYoWiki entry for Mitya, checked on 5 November 2026.

His banner, Myriad Patterns Unfold, runs until 24 November 2026 at 17:59 server time.

What is the best Mitya build?

Quick answer: use an Elemental Mastery sands and goblet with a CRIT circlet. On-field, use 4-piece Disenchantment in Deep Shadow or 4-piece Gilded Dreams. As a support, use 4-piece Tenacity of the Millelith or Heart of the Furnace. His best weapon is Starsealed Edict, and Winter's Heavy Heart is the best 4-star. On-field, level Normal Attack first. As a support, level his Skill first. He needs a Cryo teammate, because his damage comes from Stellar-Conduct, which uses Cryo and Electro.

What does Mitya actually do in 7.2?

HoYoverse's Version 7.2 Update Details notice, posted in game on 4 November, describes him like this: "Mitya is an Electro DPS character who enables the party to trigger Stellar-Conduct and deals Stellar-Conduct reaction DMG in different ways. When Mitya is in the party, the Polestar Field will follow the current active character in real time."

He is his own enabler. His passive, Stellar Jubilee: Top-Secret Protocol, turns every Superconduct your party triggers into Stellar-Conduct. You do not need Odette, Sandrone or the Cryo Traveler to get the reaction going. You only need a Cryo teammate.

He replaces Starlight Prisms with Gradient Beacons. With Mitya in the party, Stellar-Conduct creates one Gradient Beacon every 1.5 seconds for 3 seconds instead of a Prism. He carries up to 4 Beacons, and they last 10 seconds once his second ascension passive is unlocked. Each Beacon he spends deals Electro damage that counts as Stellar-Conduct reaction damage and scales with his Elemental Mastery.

He buffs the whole party's Stellar-Conduct. Every point of his EM raises the party's Base Stellar-Conduct damage by 0.028%, capped at 14%. That cap arrives at exactly 500 EM, which becomes important when you set his stat targets below.

Tap or hold: which Mitya playstyle should you use?

His Elemental Skill, Principle: Variable Detection, creates a Detection Core that lasts 25 seconds on an 18-second cooldown. How you press the button decides which build you need.

  • Tap = Steady State (support). The Core follows enemies and hits them on its own. Once Mitya is holding the maximum number of Beacons, it spends each new one for Stellar-Conduct damage, and it detonates whatever is left when it expires. His first ascension passive gives every party member +30 EM for each Beacon Mitya holds. At 4 Beacons that is +120 EM to the whole team.
  • Hold = Overloaded (on-field DPS). While this Core is up and Mitya has at least one Beacon, his Charged Attack becomes Gradient Detonation, which costs no Stamina and fires Beacons for as long as you hold it. His first ascension passive also makes the party's Stellar-Conduct reactions generate one Beacon every 1.5 seconds for 6 seconds, twice as long as the base passive.

Tapping the Skill again within 6 seconds swaps the Core's state.

A common misconception: the "Overloaded" Core is just the name of a Skill state. It has nothing to do with the Overloaded reaction. On r/GenshinImpactTips this week, a player asked whether "Overload Mitya" was better with Durin or Mavuika. One reply put it bluntly: "Neither, put cryo." Stellar-Conduct needs Cryo plus Electro, not Pyro.

What are the best Mitya artifacts?

There is no single best-in-slot set yet. Game8 and Icy Veins rank the on-field options differently, so here are both.

SetRoleWhy it works
Disenchantment in Deep Shadow (4pc)On-field+40% Stellar-Conduct reaction DMG and +16% CRIT Rate against enemies affected by Superconduct or Stellar-Conduct. Icy Veins' top on-field pick.
Gilded Dreams (4pc)On-fieldUp to +150 EM from teammates of other elements (+50 each). Game8's top on-field pick.
EM 2pc + EM 2pcOn-field, temporaryWanderer's Troupe and Gilded Dreams halves for +160 EM. A fine bridge set.
Tenacity of the Millelith (4pc)SupportParty ATK +20% for 3s whenever his Skill hits. Game8's best support set, because his Core keeps hitting.
Heart of the Furnace (4pc)Support+50% Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG for the party. It works off-field and does not stack, so only one person in the team should wear it.

Our pick: Disenchantment in Deep Shadow if your Mitya is on the field and you are short on CRIT Rate. Gilded Dreams if you already have good CRIT. One r/GenshinImpactTips player posted a calculation comparing Disenchantment with a 2pc + 2pc EM set. A reply warned, "This is the THEORETICAL AVERAGE," but still concluded that Disenchantment comes out ahead for free-to-play players. Treat both rankings as close, and let your actual substats decide.

What stats should Mitya have?

Both Game8 and Icy Veins put EM on the sands and goblet. Keqing Mains notes, in its Yae Miko quick guide, that Stellar-Conduct damage does not benefit from Electro DMG Bonus. That is why an Electro goblet does little for Mitya's main damage.

CRIT Rate comes cheap. His second ascension passive grants +5% CRIT Rate for 15 seconds each time he creates a Beacon, stacking 4 times (+20%). Add the base 5% and Disenchantment's +16%, and he can reach 41% CRIT Rate before a single CRIT substat once the stacks are up and the target is affected. His ascension stat is CRIT DMG (+38.4% at level 90). That 41% is conditional, so pick the circlet that brings your buffed totals closest to a 1:2 ratio. With a CRIT DMG weapon such as Starsealed Edict, Winter's Heavy Heart or Reliquary of Truth, that is usually a CRIT Rate circlet. With Clash of Kings, whose substat is CRIT Rate, a CRIT DMG circlet usually wins. Check your own stat screen.

Suggested targets (on-field):

  • Elemental Mastery: 600 to 700 or more (Game8). His own damage keeps scaling with EM, even after the party buff caps at 500.
  • CRIT ratio: aim for roughly 1:2 CRIT Rate to CRIT DMG, counting the passive's 20%.
  • Energy Recharge: 130 to 165% if you want his Burst every rotation (Game8 says 130 to 150% with Valeriy, Icy Veins says 145 to 165% on Etherlight Spindlelute). At C1 he regenerates 10 Energy when a Beacon is created, once every 8 seconds, so both guides lower the ER requirement there (Game8 lists 100% at C1).

Support Mitya: reach 500 EM first to max the 14% party bonus, then add CRIT or EM.

What is the best Mitya weapon?

WeaponRarityWhy
Starsealed Edict5-starHis best weapon. 88.2% CRIT DMG substat, +24% CRIT DMG, up to +120 EM, and +36% CRIT DMG on Stellar-Conduct damage inside a Polestar Field at R1.
Winter's Heavy Heart (R5)4-star, event wishUp to +160 EM and +48% Stellar Glimmer DMG in an all-Cryo/Electro team. Icy Veins ranks it second only to Starsealed Edict for on-field Mitya.
Reliquary of Truth5-starCRIT Rate, CRIT DMG and EM. The Lunar-Bloom half does nothing for him.
Dawning Frost4-star, wishEM after Charged Attacks and after Skill hits. He does both every rotation.
Clash of Kings4-star, Battle PassUp to +200 EM at R5 and a CRIT Rate substat.
Etherlight Spindlelute4-star, past eventOnly if you got it from the Clink Clank Clash event (September 2025). EM after Skill and an ER substat for his Burst.

Do you need Starsealed Edict? No. HoYoverse's weapon overview never calls it his signature, and it leaves the Epitome Invocation on 24 November. If you do not pull weapons, Clash of Kings (Battle Pass) is the option you can get without wishes, and Etherlight Spindlelute works if you already own it from the Clink Clank Clash event. Winter's Heavy Heart and Dawning Frost are cheaper wish options, and Dawning Frost is a boosted 4-star on the current weapon banner.

Support weapons: Wandering Evenstar is the best 4-star, turning his EM into a team ATK buff.

What are the best Mitya teams?

Every team needs at least one Cryo character. Without Stellar-Conduct, Mitya's only Beacons are the 3 from his Burst.

1. On-field Mitya (premium): Mitya, Odette, Yae Miko, Valeriy. Odette supplies Cryo and is Game8's top Stellar-Conduct sub-DPS. Yae adds off-field Electro. Valeriy shields and buffs.

2. On-field Mitya (one 5-star): Mitya, Traveler (Cryo), Valeriy, Alyosha. The Cryo Traveler is free. Alyosha is a 4-star you can invite through the 7.2 Grand Defense event. Valeriy is on Mitya's own banner, so every pull you make for Mitya is also a chance at him.

3. Support Mitya (tap): Sandrone or Wriothesley, Odette, Mitya, Qiqi (C6) or Alyosha. Mitya taps his Skill, gives the team up to +120 EM, and spends Beacons in the background.

Why Valeriy fits so well. Valeriy's passive, Subzero Conditioning, puts him in the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct state whenever he stands in a Polestar Field. In that state, his Into the Breach bonus rises from 0.3% to 0.9% of his ATK per point of Impact Momentum. That is three times the value. Because Mitya makes the Polestar Field follow the active character, the field is under Valeriy whenever he is on the field to fire that Charged Attack. Both kits come from HoYoverse's HoYoWiki entries for Mitya and Valeriy.

How do you play Mitya? (rotation)

The on-field loop that both guides and players describe is short:

  • Hold E to set an Overloaded Core.
  • Swap to your Cryo and Electro teammates so Stellar-Conduct triggers and Beacons appear.
  • Swap back and hold Charged Attack (Gradient Detonation) to spend them.
  • Burst for 3 more Beacons, then hold Charged Attack again.

A player on r/Genshin_Impact summed it up as "hold skill - charged attack - burst - charged attack", adding that it "is very straightforward". Game8 notes that he stands still while firing, so he needs spacing or interruption resistance. Valeriy's shield covers that.

What is the Mitya talent priority?

  • On-field: Normal Attack, then Burst, then Skill. Gradient Detonation lives on his Normal Attack and scales from 224% of EM per Beacon at level 1 to 403.2% at level 10, an 80% increase. His Burst goes from 333.6% ATK + 667.2% EM to 600.5% ATK + 1,201% EM.
  • Support: Skill, then Burst. The Steady State Core's Beacon damage rises from 80% to 144% of EM.

What materials does Mitya need?

HoYoWiki's ascension table (level 1 to 90) gives this bill:

MaterialTotalWhere
Kristallfold168Local specialty, Downtown Novokitezhgrad (Snezhnaya)
Shattered Stability Anchor46Wavebinder, a normal boss in Novokitezhgrad (40 Original Resin)
Chimeric Core / Symbiotic Chimeric Nucleus / Prime Chimeric Nexus18 / 30 / 36Aberrant Chimeric Monsters
Vajrada Amethyst Sliver / Fragment / Chunk / Gemstone1 / 9 / 9 / 6Electro normal bosses
Mora420,000Ascension only

Each talent from level 1 to 10 costs 3 Teachings, 21 Guides and 38 Philosophies of Charity, plus 6, 22 and 31 of the Chimeric drops, 6 Mask of the Virtuous Doctor, 1 Crown of Insight and about 1.65 million Mora.

  • Charity books drop from Relics of the Fallen Grace (Fellfrost Peak, Snezhnaya) on Monday, Thursday and Sunday. 5 November is a Thursday.
  • Mask of the Virtuous Doctor comes from the Heretic of the False Moon weekly boss in Nod-Krai. It is one of two Il Dottore fights, so make sure you challenge the right one.
  • Kristallfold cannot be bought, according to the community wiki. Several players this week report that its farming area opens only after a World Quest, so do the new Snezhnaya quests first.
  • Free head start: the code from HoYoverse's "Keep Up With Mitya!" event gives 3 Kristallfold and 3 Guide to Charity and works until 15 November, 16:00 UTC. It is listed on our Genshin codes page. Mitya's official showcase also says the Test Run trial and the 7.2 Archon Quest, finished in time, give ascension materials that cover him up to level 60.

Which Mitya constellations are worth it?

  • C1 is the comfort upgrade. It raises his Beacon cap to 5, adds 1 Beacon whenever he casts his Skill, gives the active character +40% CRIT DMG while the Core is up, and restores 10 Energy when a Beacon is created, once every 8 seconds, which covers most of his Energy needs.
  • C2 is the big one. Enemies in the Polestar Field lose 20% Cryo RES and 20% Electro RES. The Steady State Core gives the party +123 EM, and the Overloaded Core gives the active character +234 EM. Game8 calls C2 his best stopping point, and we agree. With C1's fifth Beacon, a support Mitya at C2 hands the team +273 EM (150 from Beacons plus 123).
  • C4 adds a 300%-of-EM hit for every 5 Beacons spent. C6 makes Stellar-Conduct damage from all nearby party members Elevated by 20%.

Pull advice: C0 Mitya already buffs the team. C1 eases his Energy needs, and C2 substantially strengthens his team buffs. Check your pity with our pity system guide before going past C0. The full Phase 1 and Phase 2 lineup is on our November banner schedule.

FAQ

Is Mitya worth pulling in Genshin 7.2? Yes, if you play or want Stellar-Conduct teams. He can carry or support, and he does not need Odette to trigger the reaction. If you have no Cryo characters you want to build, skip him.

Is Mitya an Electro DPS or a support? Both. HoYoverse's 7.2 notes call him "an Electro DPS character". Hold his Skill to play him as the main damage dealer. Tap it and he becomes an off-field support that gives the team up to +120 EM.

Can Mitya use Overloaded teams with Pyro? He can deal damage, but his kit does not work there. The "Overloaded" Core is a Skill state, not the Overloaded reaction. Apart from the 3 his Burst creates, his Beacons come from Stellar-Conduct, which means Cryo plus Electro.

When does the Mitya banner end? Myriad Patterns Unfold ends on 24 November 2026 at 17:59 server time. Valeriy joins the standard Wanderlust Invocation in the next version, but Mitya does not.
