AION 2 1st Anniversary update roadmap slide from NC's 8 November 2026 showcase, with columns for 11 November, 2 December, 23 December, 20 January and three Q1 collaboration cards

"Housing is coming this Wednesday to Korea. Hope we don't have to wait long for global release." That was one of the newest threads on r/Aion2 on Sunday 8 November, a few hours after NC's first-anniversary showcase in Seoul. A thread translating the dev stream notes had 106 upvotes and 62 comments by 12:55 UTC the same day.

NC used the 8 November 2026 event to lay out its whole winter plan for AION 2 in Korea and Taiwan: housing, a level cap raise to 55, every class reworked, a new raid in January and three collaborations in early 2027. This guide covers every dated item on that roadmap, what each change does, and the question Global players actually care about: when any of it reaches the Global PC build. It applies to the Korean/Taiwanese roadmap announced on 8 November 2026 and to Global as of the 3 Nov (PST) / 4 Nov (CET) 2026 patch. Facts come from NC's own showcase slides and Korean coverage of the event by GameVu, TechM and GameToc.

Quick answer: NC's AION 2 roadmap (Korea/Taiwan) runs in two halves. 11 November 2026: Chapter 1 Part 2 "Boundary of Light and Veil" (first half), level cap 50 to 55, housing, a reworked Urugugu Canyon expedition, new Transcendence and Nightmare floor V, and the anniversary event. 2 December: Ludra Challenge event. 23 December: Void Arkanis expedition, Frostwind Valley Transcendence, Nightmare floor VI, Christmas event. 20 January 2027: new Sanctuary raid, the Ascension Fortress. Q1 2027: three IP collaborations, two of them anime. None of this has a Global date. Global is still at level 45 in Season 1, which ends at the 15/16 December maintenance.

What did NC announce at the AION 2 anniversary showcase?

NC held an offline festival for AION 2's first anniversary at the aT Center in Yangjae, Seoul, on 8 November 2026. GameVu put the crowd at about 10,000 players, and the update briefing was streamed live. Business head So In-seop and development PD Kim Nam-jun presented it together.

The game launched in Korea and Taiwan on 19 November 2025, so the real anniversary is 19 November. The headline content is the second half of Chapter 1, titled "Boundary of Light and Veil" (빛과 장막의 경계). It finishes the story that leads up to the Barrier, and NC said the next chapter takes place beyond it.

So In-seop opened with an apology rather than a sales pitch. In TechM's report he said: "지난 1년동안 잘못한 것도 많았고, 실수한 것들도 많았다." In English: "We got a lot wrong over the past year, and we made a lot of mistakes." He went on to thank players for sticking with the game anyway. (Translation ours.) Given the monetization backlash that followed the Korean launch, that line matters. It tells you NC knows this update has to win players back.

What is on the AION 2 roadmap, date by date?

This is the official roadmap slide from the showcase, translated. All dates are for the Korean/Taiwanese service.

GameVu summed up the timing: the first half runs from 11 November to 2 December, and the second half from 23 December to 20 January.

All English names here are our provisional translations of the Korean, so expect the English client to use different ones. The Erakus Transcendence boss is a mechanised elephant called Tyrant Olmar, who pulls players in with his trunk. The Frostwind Valley boss, Kirka of the Ice Snow, is fought partly from a mount, and NC said the pet Kirka rides is planned as a Transcendence reward. The Ascension Fortress boss is Ishtar.

When does AION 2 housing come out?

In Korea, 11 November 2026. There is no Global date.

AION 2 housing update slide: a private island estate with a pink-roofed manor, lilac trees, a garden and a waterside terrace

Housing is the feature players have asked about the longest, and the version NC showed is a full estate rather than a single house. What the showcase confirmed:

  • A private estate, indoors and outdoors. You can recolour the roof, pillars and walls, decorate the garden, and build new walls and floors inside.
  • About 90 pyeong of interior space, roughly 300 square metres, with a possible second floor and lights you can place and recolour.
  • 286 kinds of furniture at launch, with no limit on how many of each you place. Pieces can be moved, rotated, resized, stacked and floated.
  • Up to 40 visitors at once, so friends or your Legion can visit.
  • It costs 1,000,000 Kina to open your estate.
  • Most furniture is crafted, and NC said material costs would be kept low.
  • No stats. Furniture grade shows how much effort a piece took, not combat power. Housing sits outside the CP race.
  • Some decorations will be sold, also with no stats. GameToc says single items cost Quna and themed bundles cost real money. GameVu describes the themed sets as Quna items.

Kim Nam-jun said housing was late because the team kept expanding the scope. Still planned for later: larger plots, several buildings per estate, pet care, farming, sitting and lying on furniture, a Legion village and furniture dyeing. NC said dyeing would come "as soon as possible".

For Global players the useful number is the 1,000,000 Kina entry fee. If housing reaches Global with the same price, that is a real Kina sink, and the players who farm Kina efficiently now will open their estates first.

What changes with the level 55 cap?

AION 2 anniversary showcase stage screen reading MAX LEVEL 50 to 55 next to a character in a red dress

In Korea the cap rises from 50 to 55 on 11 November. Global is not at 50 yet. The Global level cap is still 45, so treat everything in this section as a preview.

The progression changes that come with it:

  • Growth board: 128 more points, added as a new board instead of filling the old one, so you can put stats where you want them.
  • Pendant moves to Hero grade and can be enhanced to +20. Belts and amulets also get Hero-grade enhancement.
  • Superior Stigma: 5 more points.
  • Breakthrough cap rises from 5 to 7. NC said stages 6 and 7 need materials earned from content and can't be bought quickly. It also said it will limit how much power they give, so stage 7 stays optional and isn't required to keep up.
  • A new growth system, "the Supreme God's Prayer" (주신의 기원), was announced as another way to grow your character. NC has not shown the details in English yet.

If you are levelling an alt on Global, none of this changes your plan today. Gear score still drives the endgame, which our AION 2 gear score guide covers.

How are the AION 2 classes being reworked?

This is the biggest change in the update. NC wants players who press their own buttons to beat players who rely on mouse macros. Kim Nam-jun said macros are not being removed. The target is a gap of up to about 20% in efficiency between skilled manual play and macro play.

To get there, NC is cutting the "reset every cooldown" effects that macros lean on. Some all-skill cooldown reductions are removed or vary by class, some buffs become self-only, and the Groggy-skill bonus that cut both Stigma and Mastery cooldowns will only cut Mastery. Per class, according to GameVu:

ClassChange (KR)
GladiatorBuild Frenzy stacks to enable your slam, managing them with your other strikes
TemplarJudgment becomes a charge skill opened by Shield Bash; 5 Judgment hits in a row grant a bonus buff
AssassinHeart Stab loses its cooldown reset and becomes a charge skill, linked into an Insignia mark-and-burst cycle
BrawlerThe rush part of Ascension Strike moves to a specialization; a successful block resets two key cooldowns
RangerLoses Vaizel's global cooldown cut; Rupture Arrow builds a buff that enables an arrow barrage
SorcererLoses its cooldown specialization; two frost skills become charge skills you can save and burst
SpiritmasterTiming your summons and keeping Spirit's Descent active becomes the core loop
ClericKeeps a mostly macro-friendly setup, with tweaks to two offensive skills
ChanterTwo mantras merge into one, and a new Stigma, "Storm Spell", fills the slot

NC said repeatable Expeditions should stay comfortable on macro, while Transcendence is where manual play pays off. It also said it will keep adjusting after launch based on feedback and play data. One class-change thread on r/Aion2 had almost 100 comments within hours, so expect the class balance argument to keep going.

For Global: if you are deciding whether to change class on Global, don't base it on these Korean changes. The Global version could ship differently.

What changes for dungeons, Odyle Energy and Kina?

GameVu's breakdown has the numbers that matter most for weekly planning:

  • Every Expedition gets a solo mode. Solo uses 1-player stats, and 2 or more players use 5-player stats. Rewards are the same either way, and Hard difficulty can be soloed too.
  • New Transcendence dungeons need a party, allow 5 entries a week, and cost 80 Odyle Energy per entry. Existing Expedition and Transcendence runs are unified at 60. If you are budgeting energy on Global today, our Odyle Energy guide has the current costs.
  • Sanctuary rewards become points that add up across difficulties. NC's example: Easy 1 point, Normal 2, Hard 4, all counting toward the same reward. Expedition and Transcendence get pity-point systems too, tracked separately.
  • The Ascension Fortress raid is staged. Each boss pays out on its own, so failing the last boss no longer means walking away with nothing. A Story Mode opens 7 days before the Sanctuary itself, and NC plans to add it to older Sanctuaries too.
  • Kina payouts change. Rewards used to shrink the more you ran content. Now the amount stops shrinking and NC changes whether the Kina is bound instead, around a 63-clear weekly threshold (GameVu says the old figure was 84). Korean outlets disagree on which side of that line is bound: GameVu says unbound Kina after 63, GameToc says bound Kina past 63 weekly Expedition clears. Wait for the patch notes before planning around it.
  • A player "Trust" system comes to the Market and the Exchange. According to GameToc, your Trust level sets your daily Market sales count, your Kina settlement limit and your Exchange Kina-box purchase limit. Trust builds during a one-week preparation period from 11 November and applies from 18 November. NC is not publishing how Trust is scored.

The Korean "Ludra Challenge" on 2 December is the one item with a direct Global link. GameToc reports it is built on the Global version of Ludra, with the difficulty retuned for Korea, and rewards include a rideable Ludra pet and honour titles. It fills the gap between Sanctuary releases. For how Ludra works on Global today, see our Ludra raid guide.

What is changing in the Abyss and rankings?

  • Abyss Points above the cap: you keep earning about 10% of the normal rate after hitting the cap.
  • New AP shop items: exclusive gear and breakthrough stones bought with Abyss Points, plus PvP consumables and materials from Abyss cubes.
  • Losing a boss fight still pays out, based on your contribution.
  • Starter "Bloodfight" gear will be available from the Exchange, and the Abyss schedule is being loosened after players said it was too tight.
  • Rankings move to weekly titles instead of one end-of-season snapshot.
  • Arena gives everyone the same consumable buffs, scrolls no longer disappear when you die, and their duration goes from 5 to 10 minutes.
  • The Fire Temple Trial goes from 16 to 24 stages. Growth rewards still stop at stage 16, and stages 17 and up pay a dedicated coin for wings, with clear titles at stages 20 and 24. GameToc reports that about 25% of challengers have cleared stage 16.

Global players who want to know how the current Abyss works can use our AION 2 Abyss guide.

What is further out on the AION 2 roadmap?

AION 2 Next Preview slide showing four panels: sailing and fishing, a solo breakthrough dungeon called the Labyrinth, Master RvR in the upper Abyss, and new fields Interdika, Velusran and the Dragon Realm

The "Next Preview" slide had four undated items:

  • Sailing and fishing, combined into one activity where you sail out and fish at sea. NC is aiming for the second half of Chapter 1 Part 2.
  • The Labyrinth (미궁), a roguelike-style solo dungeon where you pick buffs as you push as deep as you can.
  • Master RvR in the upper Abyss.
  • New fields: Interdika, Velusran and the Dragon Realm. NC said zones tied to the Barrier story arrive in the next chapter.

Which anniversary events and freebies are in Korea?

  • An anniversary coupon for every player, plus an anniversary weapon skin and wings.
  • A Dimension Invasion event: kill Babarong for coins you can trade for an anniversary balloon, cosmetics, an emote and transformation candy.
  • Two outfits from a player design contest sold in-game for 365 Kina.
  • Reruns of old outfits, pets and weapon skins until 25 November, then a second rerun from 25 November.
  • Dye costs cut by 50% permanently.
  • Free server transfers from 18 November (Korea).
  • Bigger catch-up support for new and returning players, and the "Sprout" buff extended to the end of Chapter 1 Part 2.

These are Korean events. Global has its own events, and its next fixed date is the end of Season 1, covered in our Season 2 release date guide.

When will this roadmap reach AION 2 Global?

NC has not announced a Global date for any of it. We checked NC's Global notices on aion2.plaync.com and the AION 2 Steam news feed on 8 November 2026. The only anniversary item on Steam is a Russian-language press repost of the Korean stream, not an NC Global notice.

Why we wouldn't expect it soon:

  • Global is at level 45 and Korea is at 50. This update starts from a point Global hasn't reached.
  • Global is still in Season 1. Every Season 1 deadline NC has published ends at the 15 Dec (PST) / 16 Dec (CET) maintenance, and NC hasn't confirmed what Season 2 on Global contains.
  • The two builds follow different schedules. Korea launched on 19 November 2025 and Global on 5 October 2026, so Global started about ten and a half months behind. In Korea, Season 2 arrived 63 days after launch. Global's Season 1 is set to run 72 days. That suggests NC is not skipping Global ahead in big jumps.

Our read: Global will probably get housing, the class reworks and level 55 in pieces over 2027, possibly with changes. NC said nothing to confirm that. Do not plan Kina or gear spending around these Korean dates. When NC posts a Global roadmap, it will appear on the plaync notice board first, and we will update this page.

FAQ

When does AION 2 housing come out? In Korea and Taiwan, on 11 November 2026. NC has not announced a Global date. Opening your estate costs 1,000,000 Kina in the Korean version.

Is AION 2 getting a level cap increase? Yes in Korea: the cap goes from 50 to 55 on 11 November 2026. Global is still capped at 45, and NC has not said when it rises.

Is there an AION 2 Global roadmap? Not yet. As of 8 November 2026 NC's Global notices list no post-Season 1 roadmap. Everything shown at the anniversary showcase is for the Korean and Taiwanese service.

Are AION 2 classes being reworked? In Korea, all classes change on the anniversary update so manual play beats macros by up to about 20%. NC said mouse macros stay usable. Global has not been told whether it gets the same changes.

Does AION 2 housing give stats? No. NC said furniture has no stats, and its grade only reflects how hard it is to craft. Some themed furniture bundles will be sold for Quna, also without stats.

What is the AION 2 Ludra Challenge? A Korean event starting 2 December 2026. GameToc reports it is based on the Global version of Ludra with retuned difficulty, and rewards include a rideable Ludra pet and honour titles. It fills the gap before the next Sanctuary.

The bottom line

The anniversary roadmap is NC's biggest change to AION 2 since launch: housing, level 55, every class reworked toward manual play, solo Expeditions, and a staged raid that rewards partial clears. It is all Korean for now. Global players should read it as a preview of where the game is going. Spend Kina and Odyle Energy based on the Global build you play today, and watch NC's Global notice board for the first Global date.
