The best cheap players in FC 27 are mostly plain gold cards, and some of them are absurdly cheap. Haaland 91 costs 51,000 coins on console and Messi 89 costs 23,500. We priced 859 tradeable EA SPORTS FC 27 cards rated 82 or higher and ranked them by position, so you can see who to buy at under 10k, 50k and 100k.
This guide is for Season 2 of EA FC 27 Ultimate Team (22 October to 3 December 2026). Ultimate Scream is live, and the market still has Black Friday ahead of it.
Quick answer (TLDR): On 4 November, a full starting XI averaging 85 cost 44,700 coins on console. The best value picks are Haaland 91 (51,000), Messi 89 (23,500), Courtois 90 (44,000), Rice 88 (12,000), Bremer 86 (5,700) and Debinha 87 (7,500). Gold cards stay cheap up to 88, where the median is 13,375 coins. At 89 the median jumps to 74,000. With 500,000 coins, buy two or three 89 to 91 golds instead of one promo card, and leave room for chemistry.

What are the best cheap players in FC 27 right now?
Plain gold cards give the best value at almost every position. These are the picks we'd buy first. Prices are console lowest listings from NokaFut at 16:00 UTC on 4 November, with PC in brackets:
- Haaland 91 ST: 51,000 (PC 43,000). The cheapest 91 in the game. SHO 92, PHY 89, Low Driven Shot+.
- Messi 89 CAM: 23,500 (PC 20,750). PAS 89, DRI 90, Incisive Pass+, 4-star weak foot and skills.
- Courtois 90 GK: 44,000 (PC 40,000). 200 cm, 1v1 Close Down+.
- Rice 88 CDM: 12,000 (PC 13,000). DEF 85, PAS 86, Relentless+.
- Sophia Wilson 88 ST: 28,000 (PC 24,500). PAC 91, 5-star weak foot, First Touch+.
- Bremer 86 CB: 5,700 (PC 5,800). PAC 85, DEF 87, Bruiser+.
The question came up again on r/fut on 4 November, where a player asked how to upgrade with 500k. Replies pointed to Courtois in goal and Bacha at left-back. Both show up in our data as top value picks.
How did we rank the cheap players?
We used price data and face stats, then checked PlayStyles. Here's the method, so you can judge the picks yourself:
- We pulled every card rated 82 to 92 from NokaFut's rating pages on 4 November at 16:00 UTC. We dropped holographic copies, which leaves 859 priced cards.
- Each card got a position score from its face stats. Strikers weigh shooting and pace most. Wingers weigh pace and dribbling. Centre-backs weigh defending, physical and pace. Goalkeepers use diving, reflexes, positioning and handling.
- For the top cards in each budget, we added weak foot, skill moves, height, AcceleRATE type and PlayStyles+ from FUT.GG.
- Where two cards scored about the same, we picked the cheaper one or the one with a useful PlayStyle+.
This tells you who looks best on paper for the price. It can't tell you how a card feels in game, so treat close calls as a toss-up. Prices move every hour. A card that was 5,700 at 16:00 may be 6,500 by tonight.
Where do FC 27 player prices jump?
Between 88 and 89. Gold cards get pricier one point at a time up to 88, and then they jump.

The median 89 costs 5.5 times the median 88. That's why 88-rated golds like Rice, João Neves and Mapi León are such good value. You get almost the same stats for under a fifth of the price.
The exceptions are the cheap 89 to 91 cards, mainly Haaland, Messi, Courtois and Donnarumma. Prices follow demand more than rating. Haaland has a Lengthy run and Messi has 76 pace, which may be part of why they stay cheap, but we can't prove the cause.

Haaland's 3-star skills and Lengthy run hold him back on dribbling. As a box striker next to a quicker partner, he's the best-value attacker we found. Wilson is the one to pair with him.
Who are the best cheap wingers?
Caicedo and Diani under 10k, and the Chawinga sisters under 25k. You don't need wingers in the 4-3-1-2, which you'll see everywhere in Rivals (our 4-3-1-2 meta guide explains why). For a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, these are the picks:

Nmecha has a 2-star weak foot. Keep him in a holding role where he doesn't need to shoot. If you have about 80,000 spare, Reijnders' Ultimate Scream card at CDM (76,930) is the only promo CDM under 100k that scored above Rice. He's over 6 times the price for less than a point more.

Bremer is the standout value defender. He costs 5,700 coins and scores higher than every centre-back under 100k.

An XI averaging 85.0 for 44,700, one averaging 87.5 for 198,700 and one averaging 88.4 for 441,950. All three use the 4-3-1-2.
- Under 50k (44,700, PC 48,400): Kobel; Davies, Bremer, Ibañez, Ona Batlle; Tonali, Nmecha, Geyoro; Debinha; Osimhen, Anyomi.
- Under 200k (198,700, PC 184,850): Donnarumma; Bacha, Mapi León, Bremer, Crnogorčević; Rice, João Neves, Nmecha; Messi; Sophia Wilson, Haaland.
- Under 450k (441,950, PC 442,800): Courtois; Bacha, Mapi León, Bremer, Hakimi; Rice, Mariona, João Neves; Messi; Haaland, Pajor.
These teams choose stats over chemistry, and that's fine in FC 27. FUT Team's FC 27 chemistry guide, a community site, says a 0-chemistry player gets no stat penalty. They only miss out on a Chemistry Style boost. The same guide says women's and men's cards link through nation and affiliated clubs, but not through league. That means Rice and Mariona link through Arsenal, and Hakimi and João Neves link through PSG.

Should you buy cheap Ultimate Scream cards before 24 November?
Only the ones that already make the list. EA's Ultimate Scream article promises a temporary boost:
"Coinciding with the arrival of November's Beaver Full Moon, all Ultimate Scream Player Items will undergo a temporary transformation for one full week, starting November 24, 2026. This limited-time upgrade will boost a single face stat to 99 and reward the player with full in-position Chemistry to make them an instant fit to any squad."
EA hasn't said which face stat each card gets. Five cheap Scream cards already scored well on our list: Crnogorčević 85 RB (15,750), Ciss 85 CB (21,000), Ampadu 85 CM (28,430), Jónsdóttir 86 RW (35,750) and Amoura 85 LW (36,000). Crnogorčević is the best value of them. At 15,750 he costs about the same as a gold 88.
The boost only lasts a week. Don't pay much extra for it, and expect these prices to climb in the days before 24 November.
When is the best time to buy cheap players in November?
Buy cards you'll use now, and save big buys for late November. Cheap golds look close to their floor. Most 85 golds cost 2,600 to 3,000 coins, so there's little room to fall. The 89 to 91 cards have the most room to drop if a Black Friday promo adds supply, as it has in past years.
Black Friday is 27 November 2026. EA hasn't announced an FC 27 Black Friday promo yet, so treat that date as an estimate. GTA 6 is due on 19 November on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S, which could thin out console buyers. Our market crash guide has the full timing.
Remember EA's 5% sales tax when you flip cards. A card bought at 51,000 has to sell for about 53,700 just to break even.
